Grolsch bottle washers, but preferably the old more rubbery variation, the newer ones are more plasticky and not so good.

BluesFest have confirmed that the O2 gig in October is going ahead as planned, and have pointed to the statement by Donald Fagen at https://www.bluesfest.co.uk/news/statement-donald-fagen

As well as all the above, it helps tighten up rehearsal discipline. Cost-conscious band member: So we did a six-hour rehearsal booked and there's only 1 hour 45 minutes of material recorded. Where's the rest? Zoom H2 Owner/Bassist: That's all of it. I didn't bother uploading the bits when we weren't all here, setting, toilet breaks, tea breaks, guitarist tuning, guitarist testing new pedal, drummer complaining about the house kit, guitarist replacing broken string, aborted starts because guitarist was too loud, aborted starts because the singer forgot where to come in, noodling between agreeing which song to do next and starting said song, etc etc
Do those of you who use public transport ever feel uneasy about carrying your gear around, from a safety / security perspective?
Nope. Anyone who tries to lift my effects case (or gig bag come think about it) and do a runner is only going to succeed at one or the other
So how do women in the UK judge men?
Every single minute of the day.
Uber has changed everything these last couple of years though. Hundreds of cabs going past my house at any given time of day / night which can be booked and paid for instantly through the app. Usually costs less than a tenner and gets me and all my gear from my front door to the gig and back
Ever been declined a ride because of your gear? I have - couple of weeks ago the Uber rolled up and took a look at my gig bag and effects case, said no way mister and off he went. I asked the next one who turned up "Ok if I put my gear in the boot?" "yeah, no problem. What else you going to do with it?"

As a London gigster I use public transport if I know there's an amp at the venue for me to use - I use an iGig bag plus Pedaltrain effects case. If there's no amp I'll use ZipCar or Uber to take the above plus amp. Having said that I used to be in Genesis tribute bands. The load for that gig would be: bass, double-neck, acoustic 12-string, bass amp, guitar amp, case for effects/cables/etc, stool, Moog Taurus bass pedals - all of which would easily fill the back of a VW Golf (seats down)

Someone on another internet message board thought I was Alex James out of Blur because I play bass and I like cheese

I met Nick Beggs in the queue to get into a Frank Zappa movie at the Prince Charles Cinema. His first sentence to me contained the word "willy"

Your local harp school noticeboard? (I dunno, somewhere like Guildhall by the Barbican). -

Yep! Also available in 1/3, 2/3 and half pints! How odd. Other beers available as well at more realistic prices. Yep, just ok for me. I don't want to give away too much at this stage but I think I'm getting past the bass pyrotechnics stage in my advancing years. The longer acoustic bass piece towards the end was really good. (Sorry don't know its name - I'll be listening to the earlier SC solo work later and if I recognise it I'll post the name)
How was the London gig ? A, um, 'domestic situation' blew up over the weekend which meant I couldn't go. I hope everyone had a good time.
£6.90 for a pint of Punk IPA. Otherwise, ok. Much preferred the acoustic set to the electric set (no setlist spoilers for now). The keys player on the right was pretty good too (took a great vocoder solo), sorry can't remember his name.

Just seen this on Dylan Howe's facebook page as well. Get well soon Norm! I'm sure all of BC is sending him reasons to be cheerful.
