2. I've recently signed up to Canva, https://www.canva.com. Not got around to using it yet. so if you beat me to it, let us know how it goes.
3. Digitech Bass Synth Wah pedal Sennheiser E835 and stand new Weather Report box set new Kosmischer Laufer album isn't Santa clever!
4. From http://pandamidi.com/future-impact-order ... "ATTENTION! AFTER TWO AND A HALF DAYS WE RAN OUT OF STOCK WITH THE FIRST BATCH OF FUTURE IMPACT. But no worry: we started to organise the next production run which will be available in early February. If you want to secure your position to own a unit just preorder here with the Buy Now button." Good work FI team!
5.
I hear Kylie getting hammered on the radio just now
*raises eyebrow* Speaking of which, recently I heard her "Christmas Wrapping" with contributions from Iggy Pop. Oh dear
6. +1 for Christmas Wrapping and IBIFC. Not especially keen on Fairy Tale. Some other favourites: James Brown - Santa Claus Goes Straight To The Ghetto The Klezmonauts - Good King Wenceslas Mike Oldfield - In Dulce Jubilo Low - Just Like Christmas Fountains Of Wayne - I Want An Alien For Christmas all available on my Xmas Playlist on spotify. No filler all killer: https://open.spotify.com/user/toneknob/playlist/20XsgQ4kMStnkfZF6iNYdB or spotify:user:toneknob:playlist:20XsgQ4kMStnkfZF6iNYdB Albums-wise: "The Jethro Tull Christmas Album", Vince Guaraldi's "A Charlie Brown Christmas", Bela Fleck and the Flecktone's "Jingle All The Way"
7.
ok i think i will bring it there. but is there a place where i can setup the pedal and everybody can try? is there someone on the forum that organises this bassguitarshow?
Maybe basschat favourite Wunjo on Denmark St might be up for hosting a demo as well.
8.
Better check the times with the Bierkeller. Thanks for heads up.
From the Bierkeller website: Doors Open - 7.30pm First Act on stage 8pm You've got Godsticks supporting, I'll be curious to hear how they're getting on with their new drummer.
9.
Better check the times with the Bierkeller. Thanks for heads up.
You might do better - Heaven is primarily a nightclub and they want to get the greasy longhairs out, tidy up the empty tinnies and generally defumigate the place well in advance of letting the pretty young things in to shake their stuff - especially with it being last Friday before Christmas and that.
10. Seeing them on Friday at Heaven. Timing from the event page at http://www.heaven-live.co.uk/event/the-aristocrats/ 18.00 Doors 19.00 The Fierce & The Dead 20.00 The Aristocrats Early night for Aristocrats fans.
11. Can someone point me in the direction of ordering details please?
12. +1 for the WMD (I bought pantherairsoft's - thanks!). I've convinced an Ernie Ball VP Jr to act as an expression pedal so you can detune the amount of bit crushing and wotnot on the fly. Also the Mooer Lo-Fi Machine for a compact and more easily-grokked variant. And the Death By Audio Robot which ahem "transforms any input into a spuree of resynthesized robot jargon". (Also it's got a random arpeggiator which is fun)
13. I'm trying really hard to think of something that both came out in 2015 and I bought in the same year. And I like more than most other things.
14.
Rehearsing last night, and our wonderful drummer announces he's not gigging after Christmas and the gigs in December will be his last. He has a high stress/long hours job - I fully understand and support his decision - but feel genuinely distressed about this.
Sorry to hear that, Geddy.
15.
I think we are all groundbreaking bassists.
I'm not
16.
Get over it, Bignose, he's quit.
How dare you call me bignose.
17. Oh no he hasn't: http://prog.teamrock.com/news/2015-12-08/geddy-lee-clarifies-neil-peart-retirement-rumours
18. Oh, I'm quite partial to a bit of parpy fretless. Which songs in particular exhibit this, please?
19. and yes I'd love to see them in top form again but with Neal's tendons, Alex's hands and Geddy's voice I'd rather they bowed out gracefully than went on forever and couldn't deliver.
20. Moving Pictures, Permanent Waves, Counterparts, Exit Stage Left, A Farewell To Kings, 2112. (off the top of my head)
21. Another bump - the eagle-eyed among you will have seen from my recent post in the "Gigs" section that our Sunday night monthly residency has moved to Thursday nights. All other details remain the same! Jazz-rock-fusion kind of material, £3 to get in, nice beer, paid gig, close to the tube station. If your band fancies appearing, drop me a line. Anything that you think fits the bill will be considered: instrumental rock, eclectic jazz, avant garde, etc
22. Thursdays are the new Sunday! Our monthly residency has moved to Thursday night, and the next one is this week on Thursday December 3rd. Doors at 7pm and support is again from The Motherfunkers, on stage 7.30pm. Velcro Pelmet on about 9pm and curfew is at 11pm. Come and say hi if you're there!
