  1. As promised. This man has approx six hours experience of ring wearing (and despite the look on my face, there's a few more years bass-playing experience) So even with full cross-neck extension to the E string there's no danger of the ring getting in the way of the G string, never mind what my wife said later that night. Maybe if you're playing a 7-string or something daft.
  2. Same here. In fact for the curious I'm happy to share a photo of my ring on my wedding night *insert kenneth williams gif here* I'll dig it out later on.
  3. No problem here with mine, that part of the ring finger tends to stay out of trouble just off the lower (in height) side of the neck. If you grip the neck really hard with a thumb-over type of grip you might have more to deal with though
  4. Music reading lessons (you'll be thanked for it eventually)
  5. Or even https://www.notreble.com/buzz/2019/12/17/bass-transcription-tracy-wormworths-bass-line-on-christmas-wrapping-by-the-waitresses/
  6. Have a search on basschat and there should be the tab for Christmas Wrapping around somewhere (you're welcome) if not let me know and I'll dig out the scans.
  7. It varies, but very often is Tony Levin (who is curiously unlisted)
  8. Living Colour were amazing, Doug Wimbish is a powerhouse, and I loved the hip-hop medley. Extreme I was a bit disappointed by - GC's vocals seem to be more shouted than sung these days. Great to see Nuno and Pat though, and the drummer (sorry don't know his name) was good too. I was on the floor for the first few songs then headed to the bar for a drink. There was no way I was going to back to where I was, but nowhere back of the floor had any sightlines and the sound was suffering as well. I left after Am I Ever Going To Change (one of my favourites) which was a struggle to get through.
  9. The above was as amazing as expected, and also featured the David Cross Band doing all of Larks Tongues in Aspic, which was quite special. The encore was everyone on stage for Starless and 21st Century Schizoid Man 🤩 Tomorrow: further excitement with Extreme and Living Colour
  10. Welcome! I too am a moderately-bad guitarist.
  11. Quite like! Best AotW so far. Compared my usual Scandawegian jazz preferences they need to let the pig out a bit, but otherwise well played and sounds lovely.
  12. Listened to all of it, don't mind the non-English vocals (I'm a Magma fan ffs) but equally not really my bag. Ok though, and better than previous arbitrary "derrière" (anag) I wonder if band members on any AotWs are casually googling their bandname and ending up here? Probably not Bjork tbh.
  13. aye, not as cheap as they used to be. Mine can do this though
  14. Lovely bit of kit (but how did it come to £4.5k? our new boiler was about half that)
  15. I shan't let it colour my opinion and I hope no one else's either. But, anagram of 'derrière'
  16. Quite liked it! Doubt it's one I'll come back often to but nice to have on in the background with Monday morning work. Probably my favourite AotW so far.
