1. Also, Iron Maiden on Tuesday at 10pm: http://skyarts.sky.com/iron-maiden-rock-in-rio
 2.
Looks like there is quite a bit of good stuff coming up http://skyarts.sky.com/metal-evolution
Metal Evolution is really good - especially the Shock Rock and Prog Metal episodes. Series link. Sky Arts is, along with BBC4, my favourite tv channel. Subscribe if you don't already!
 3. Hi - I'm selling my Moog Taurus I bass pedals, which come with a custom made flight case and manual. You can see pictures, demos, and a bit of history at this site I put together: http://moogtaurus.wordpress.com. The pedals and I are based in south-west London. Asking price is £1950. Any questions, send me a PM here or drop me a line at [email protected]. Thanks!
 4.
I saw PG on the "Human Rights Now" tour in 1988 with his usual touring band (including TL) + Youssou N'Dour (who did a set in his own right that night) at Wembley Stadium. His performance of "Shock the Monkey" was particularly memorable . Good call on ABWH - I saw them at Wembley Arena the following year. Great band!
Was at all of the above! the ABWH show was fantastic: Heart of the Sunrise with funk fingers. Whoa. A experience exceeded only by the same TLev/FF combo on 21st Century Schizoid Man at the Shepherds Bush Empire in 1996.
 5.
Did I hear correctly that the track listings were not as originally intended due to the way Vinyl did not produce the bass response quite as well nearer the middle of the disc as it was effectively travelling slower and could not produce the tones with the same energy ??? That is maybe a touch anal , but incredible attention to detail
That's right - the track listing on the CD re-release some years later restored the desired track listing, ending with the more upbeat and optimistic In Your Eyes than on the relative downer of Milgram's,
 6.
I saw the "SO" tour in the NEC in 1987 & it was one of the best gigs I've ever seen. As you say, the stage set-up was very sparse, but the whole show was wonderfully produced & choreographed with really clever use of minimal, mainly white, lighting. By way of contrast I saw David Bowies "Glass Spider" tour a few weeks before the Gabriel show, and for all it's elaborate effects it was one of the crappiest gigs I've ever been to - very much a case of style over content.
I've still got my POV on VHS - I wonder if it'll still play. A brilliant concert film, slightly flawed by some "home movie" style footage. Likewise I was at Earls Court for one of the 1987 shows - up in the gods somewhere. I saw U2 and Genesis at Wembley Stadium in the same month or so. I had a spare weekend and was considering the Glass Spider show, but lack of pocket money prevented it - double-edged sword as I've not got round to seeing Bowie since, but reviews of the show are universally luke-warm.
 7.
Disappointed there was nothing about 'Big Time' and the drumsticks! But, dear God, did you see the dodgy 1980's long coats that musos wore in those days??
Shoulder pads are coming back, they say
 8. Never knew this video existed until last night either. Excellent stuff!
 9. Some great TLev footage in the doc. That bass he used in the Don't Give Up section was one that was rescued from the barn fire a while back, hence the smoke damage: funny/tragic story at www.papabear.com/miscpages/fire.htm
 10.
Nice, will stick in diary!
Nice pun!
 11. I'm quite keen on Kate Bush's segments as well Now what I'd really like to see is a re-run of the PG South Bank Special, filmed at Real World during the recording of his fourth album. Also starring TLev. Any opportunity: here's me and him comparing Funk Fingers while someone nicks his Musicman
 12. A recent-ish edition of Bass Player magazine, in its lead interview with a very well-known bassist, quoted his admiration for the old jazz cats, including "Billy Holiday and Louie Armstrong". I had to write. I didn't get a reply
 13.
I beleive thay have some of the original costumes (or access to them) could be good! Enjoy the show.
I heard they spent in the region of $10000 (Canadian) sourcing the silk made by the same manufacturers that provided the original material for Gabriel's "Watcher" cloak.
 14.
Just as a side note has anyone here seen The Watch playing as a Genesis tribute? I'm not that big a fan of Genesis but they are playing reasonably locally so I might give it a go if they are worth seeing. I have a couple of albums of theirs playing their own material and that does sound uncannily like early Genesis.
They're really good. They focus on the very early Genesis repertiore, I believe, and also include some of their own material. One of the better Genesis tribs out there in what is becoming quite a crowded market.
 15. This and everything else on the album http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ot5lObb4YDs
 16. Bow Wow Wow, Quiver http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E7SKzeHeCVo

 18. It's Lake-land - see http://www.lakland.com/faq.htm And it's Agg-wee-larr isn't it? Emphasis on the wee.
 19.
The US live Jaco album 'Twins' is a must have (it is available in the UK as 'Invitation' but that was a single LP and Twins was the same lp but a double with more stuff on it and longer versions.
Agree, Twins is great (as is the Invitation "sampler"), but sadly going for big bucks on amazon and eBay. Spotify is your friend: Jaco Pastorius – Twins Live In Japan 1982 - the "Continuum" on here is fantastic.
 20. Meddle and Obscured By Clouds are the winners for me. Welcome to the machine!
 21. Rush, Xanadu, from the Exit Stage Left film. Plus you get a double-neck thrown in for good luck. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JTD1QW3SM60
 22. This is a brilliant album, much overlooked. It's on spotify - McDonald & Giles – McDonald & Giles
 23.
Their bass player is way better than Wooten already. I don't like their music but they are clearly very good at it.
Pretty much what I think too. I can't bear what I've seen on youtube, but I wish I was that good.
