We only do two of those, Valerie and Respect but it might not even be the same Respect, ours is the Erasure one.
I used to find that the bands that I did deps for did covers from the same artists but different tracks!
I actually find ear defenders worse for bone conduction, the volume required to pass via bone conduction in free air would be immense anyway so unless you rest your head on the PA speakers during gigs I don't think any of this matters.
With my KZ in ears in I can't really hear anything that isn't piped into them, they block out far more than the disposable foam plugs at work, it's quite alarming how loud a pub or function room is when you take them out after a gig.
Great in ear mix tonight, even the guitarist is starting to like them now!
Cheap foam tips off ebay held my KZs in all night although they do alter the sound compared to the standard silicone ones.
I've been house bassist a few times over the years, those that rock up without a bass better be able to play upright or five string as I've not got anything else to lend them.
