  1. As much as I'd have shoved the extra few hundred up where the sun don't shine at the same time where do you draw the line? This happens in the classic car world too where people ask for first refusal, the new owner is honoring their part of the deal by offering it back but what if "the market has moved on" as you say, A Lotus Cortina ten years ago was £10-20k, now they are £50k+, should the buyer offer it back at 20k, not offer at all even though they promised or offer it back but at market value?
  2. Until the cash-bass exchange is done I don't pin my hopes on anything be I the seller or buyer. Don't count your chickens as they say. I get that it's annoying and I'm the same as you Dave, I bought an electric van earlier this year which got me in a panic about the range soon after leaving the deposit, it was the first thing in my life I'd cancelled the order on, normally I'd have sucked it up but I felt even if I lost the deposit my mental health was more important. I sold a few basses this year and one guy was practically as good as a done deal, someone else offered me the cash and I took it as the first buyer went a little quiet on me, many people would have waited a little longer for his reply and I did feel a bit bad, but, four months later he still hasn't replied!
  3. I was trying to be generous, the A is optional then ha!
  4. Who's the charity, the venue? Ha
  5. Playing punk makes it easy, E and A and lots of shouting and you could tell them it's anything! Lol
  6. My RCF 735s were £750 each, I'm not a gear snob but the Alto for less than £300 isn't even in the same ball park!
  7. I think there's a lot of truth in this, what some people regard as plenty of zing left others class as dead.
  8. My modded affinity Jazz was great, I only sold it because I switched to five string full time, I treated myself to a proper USA five string and fitted a preamp into it, both basses are perfectly fit for purpose Imo.
  9. I think the damage had been done before the mibass stuff came out tbh
  10. They made class D early on but it was terribly unreliable, you couldn't give them away.
  11. Rotosound comment. Yep they go dull after about ten minutes for me.
  12. The battery in my jazz bass is behind the pickguard (as you know Russ), I could fit one of those and a USB port to charge the bass somewhere. Hhmmm
  13. It will just be a line out, the actual heavy lifting will be done from the power amp in the sub.
  14. It's a bit of a complicated joke for me, I'd need A Major brain transplant to understand it.
  15. Sounds like there's a few more people here ready to come over to the dark side and ditch the amps, maybe even go in ears!?
  16. The first difference I see is what I thought about this one, the real one has real Fender knobs and a 3 ply pickguard.
  17. From my model airplane messing I can tell you that lipo batteries are a different animal to many, using a balance charger each cell is charged to a specific voltage and as close to each other as possible, they also need to be stored at a specific voltage, also if they drop below a certain voltage either in use or by being left unused then they are scrap. They should be charged in a fire proof container, I use a Pyrex pot with a lid and charge on top of the glass hob. If you cut into one you'll burn your house down too! Other than that they are good. 😀
  18. The tone/volume knobs aren't Fender either. Single ply pickguard on anything over £80 new is naff Imo too.
  19. Not for me I'm afraid.
  20. Burst and maple looks terrible.
  21. It doesn't look like a Musicman finish to me, not that it matters really, cool bass.
  22. We only do two of those, Valerie and Respect but it might not even be the same Respect, ours is the Erasure one. I used to find that the bands that I did deps for did covers from the same artists but different tracks!
  23. Calling EBS_freak......
  24. Bloody kids and their Walkmans... Anyone fancy a werthers original?
  25. I actually find ear defenders worse for bone conduction, the volume required to pass via bone conduction in free air would be immense anyway so unless you rest your head on the PA speakers during gigs I don't think any of this matters.
