Asking on a forum full of people dedicated to the existing 17.5mm spaced one probably wasn't the best place to start!
I did a search and all there were were a few hokey live photos of him playing a Jazz Bass shaped bass with a MM pickup on it. It could have been silver or pink. That's how good those pics were.
There's a video clip I believe,I'll report back.
I was following him on Instagram but his account isn't active anymore. Do you know whereabouts this was posted?
She follows theredhotchilipeppers I think?

The best bass playing you ever heard.?

There are different songs for different moods that's the trouble, if I'm in the mood for some Paramore I probably wouldn't enjoy the Gary Karr stuff at that moment. -
The Mrs sent me a picture of Flea from Instagram promoting his new fleabass, I haven't got instagram, is it the FenderRay that he's actually been using does anyone know?

Fault or not Fault? Thomann`s customer service
stingrayPete1977 replied to zvirus's topic in General Discussion
I have experience in selling to large resellers. I know how they work. From Thomanns POV they sell instruments. They accept returns. If an instrument is returned they have a system for this and they don't lose money as they will have agreements with their suppliers. With a large seller, as soon as you want to do something outside of their system you are on your own. Their system can't handle it. The people yout talk to in customer services aren't allowed to make decisions about what might make sense. So you HAVE to work with them in ways they can operate.
This is what I think too, hence my early post regarding the person receiving the emails possibly not playing an instrument at all never mind the complexities of intonating a fretless jazz bass. This week they are selling instruments, next week it could be food or fire engines or houses! -
Yeah never heard of that model (not that I'm a Lakland connoisseur), but looks great! Si
I am surprised we don't see more and the 55-14 looked like a great deal (although the red one in guitar-guitar Birmingham didn't do it for me), I can't see any of those anywhere!
Well there's the rub I guess. Clearly not as popular a requirement as appears from forums.
Ah but would it be if it was an EBMM model? will we ever know, will Big Poppa ever try it to find out?
That Sharay clip blows me away everytime ! well i would find it very hard to narrow it down to a favourite but just cos i'm feeling jazzy this morning ...this
Ray Brown would say, "get a moustache like mine, man up and get some proper Spirocore strings and use the sides of your damn fingers!"
No solid beat to groove to.????? I find it really hard to understand you think that. Different horses I guess.
It is fine as a musician, we can hear the count, why are the audience drifting so far in and out of time with it? watch it again and TRY not to listen to the bass part but watch it as a audience member. -
The best band that has ever recorded music, with Tom Barney on the thunderous SR5. I get the feeling Ernie didnt design the SR5 for slap, but fingerstyle/pick groove playing. The necks are so easy to get around.
Excellent, I love the way you get the bottom end and the top end with them, you can get a bass with the bottom, or the top but rarely both!

Stonking, 35" inch Stingray with wide spacing, just what so many people say they want so I don't understand why these are not more popular?
-
The fact they have been used in every genre of music with great success suggests the bass is as versatile as it's operator
-
That and the hideous pick guard ☺
The Classic looks like a regular Stingray until you spot the extra string, the neck is probably about the same width as an SR4 too!
-
haha that is so funny I assumed they didn't like it or something well, if they're over fifty, tell them it's time to either learn bass, or sell bass hehe
From personal experience I suspect the big shops in the UK rely on the 50th birthday present market and a lot of the guitars, basses that they sell will go unused. Most of those sales will be Fender or Gibson too.

Fault or not Fault? Thomann`s customer service
stingrayPete1977 replied to zvirus's topic in General Discussion
There is no need for that, I can see what you are thinking and I can see where Thomann have got confused, are you responding in English to them? Your English is excellent but you may be finding by doing that both you and Thomann are translating to an extent, depending on your first language you might find it easier to correspond in that one, they might even have an employee that speaks the same language. Like I said that is not a dig at your English as someone trying to learn another language at the moment yours is brilliant. Alternatively many of us here would be happy to read your email in a private message for you no doubt, myself included, just to make sure you have not left yourself open for any more confusion with them -

For me that is too much, ok for a verse maybe, the guys sat behind him should be nodding along but neither the bass or the drums are giving them a solid beat to get a count on to groove to, yes the musicians know where the count is but the singers are out of time once it gets going until about 4 minutes in when it finds a pulse again, they are have a great time because they know the song so well and it is a big favourite. That's a miss for me regardless of the chops I am afraid -

The profit margins are so small that sending a bridge for free that may or may not fix the issue to someone they have no knowledge of regarding their ability to fix the bass would be pointless for them, put it back in the box send it back, they send it back to their contact with Fender and send you a new one, they make the same amount of money and you get a good bass that works. -
We run a smoke machine, smallish, cost about 30 quid I think. We only really want it to enhance the lights to be honest, not fill the stage with a smoke effect. Has set the odd fire alarm off in the past but generally it doesn't. Dissapites quite quickly though. Don't really know anything about hazers I'm afraid. Les
We have had a couple of venues stipulate that we MUST NOT use a smoke machine, I suspect trying to explain the difference between a Hazer and Fog would have been fruitless too! Our fogger that the drummer owns is also so old and roadworn that it probably puts smoke out without the need for any fog juice,it has been retired off along with the stage lights they made in the back of the van on the way to a reggae gig in the 80's

I don't notice 34 or 35 inch scales, I don't mind what the spacing is either really, as long as it feels good all together I'm happy.
