1.
The buyer is a new basschat member
Has feedback been left/received?
 2.
If I'm in as good nick physically at 75 I'll be well chuffed.
And blessed with a full head of hair without a grey in sight just like Macca, must be the healthy living?
 3.
I love a Malted Milk...especially the chocolate covered ones...
You are a man of good taste then
 4.
This will teach me to start a BF thread...
It does make me laugh how they can get in a twist on their own! Someone waded in on the last one "with why all the hate for a UK based company" blah blah etc, no one had yet
 5. I think these big stores have got a shop or shops staffed by people into music (hopefully) but at the same time they have a warehouse and office staff based elsewhere that is run as a shipping business, the staff there could have been packing and selling fish or clothes or washing machines a week ago, possibly/probably never played a bass in their lives.
 6.
I would advise very strongly that you do NOT do this, in fact that you do and say absolutely nothing that might imply that you felt any responsibility or liability at all. If this guy really is a scammer (for £230? sounds more like a newbie or an incompetent to me) then he'll know how to parlay your tacit admission into complete liability. Just say, as politely as you think appropriate, that there was nothing wrong with the bass when he bought it, and it sounds as if he's been scammed by a dodgy luthier. Ball --> his court.
I'll reduce my post down to just the FO then
 7.
I've recently rediscovered Malted Milks after a ~30 year break. I hope you have some of those in your selection....
Have you tried a chocolate malted milk?!
 8.
I would at least require the old frets back. Tell him to FO.
And a copy of the receipt plus the luthier's number to give them a call, then I would tell them to FO anyway
 9.
The buyer would receive a very short and terse response from me.
Carefully delivered with a boot to a certain area known as the arse?
 10. I have a 1957 Morris Minor, the rear end is rotted out of it, can I get the car rebuilt by a specialist and send the bill to Shanghai MG Rover or BMW (who has the Morris rights?) after I have got the work done without even asking them first? The timescale isn't such an issue to me although it adds weight to the sellers side of course but that said a message like " Hi mate I bought the bass off you a couple of months ago but only just got around to using it and I cant get it set up right, took it to my bass guy and he says it needs a refret and it will be £230, what do you think?", I would still say the OP has no need for any involvement as it was a used bass but that should have been the first port of call from the buyer, missing that step out removes the OP from the situation 100%
 11.
+1 Tell him to go take a running jump.
+2 Long walk, short pier.
 12. What has more Heft, 2.2lbs of Ashdown of a KG of Barefaced?
 13.
Stingray Pete is the most handsome and talented bass player on Basschat
Ah thanks mate!
 14. 1994-Laney B120(?) head and two 2x10 matching cabs, rubbish really. 1997-swapped one of the cabs for a Marshall 15" ,it was still crap. 1999-Peavey TNT 1x15" combo, great sound but lacking in a bit of volume. 2003-Ashdown evo ABM300 1x10 combo and 1x15" extension cab. Wooly but didn't set on fire! Died eventually mid gig. 2008- Genz shuttle 6.0 and a NEOX2x12T 4 ohm cab, brilliant. 2010- added a Genz 1x12T cab 2011- added a Genz shuttle 3.0 2012- added the might Genz Shuttlemax 9.2, loads of knobs! 2016- di box and monitor when possible.
 15.
Probably starting to sound like a scratched record, but if I was looking for a reasonably priced super Jazz I'd be heading for one of these babies. Don't think you need to speak Spanish to get the picture... https://youtu.be/QVn98C9F-tI
Ooh I like that, ¡me gusta mucho! Lol
 16.
Back before the days of the internet, you'd go into a music shop that might have a dozen or so basses on the wall for anyone off the street to play. If, having played the bass (or guitar, etc) you liked it, you would buy it (most music shops only carried one item of any particilar model, so invariably all the guitars and basses you bought were ex-demo to some extent). It's a tough one; music shops may only be able to carry a limited stock, and most of that is displayed on the shop floor, and the margins are cut so fine that they can't always afford to offer a substantial discount for ex-demo equipment but as customers we want to be able to try them out and when it comes to parting with our cash, get a shiny brand new one straight out of its box.
I've bought all my new basses this way including ones over £1500, if I like the feel of that one enough to spend that much money on it then I want that actual one as long as it's not damaged or too mucky. Electronic items like keyboards or amps I'd probably prefer new but even then I might try it in the shop before leaving.
 17.
I'm not sure how mounting 2 pedals on the bass is 'tidy'. Maybe it's just me but that means more junk that needs to be removed for battery changes. I use a twin pick up with a single female stereo jack. The kind of thing K&K, Superior Bass Works, or J-tone produce. Therefore 1 single stereo cable from bass to pre-amp (like the one jrixn1 posted). I really can't imagine anything tidier than that. Nothing other than the pickup itself on the bass and that only takes one minute to remove, if I need to do so.
I've seen it in action, looks proper neat to me too
 18. My wife was a senior claims handler for 12 years, a photo of the item is standard procedure, same for jewellery, something like a picture taken at a wedding of the claimant wearing the item being claimed for would be the norm. At the end of the day there's no need for photo shop, just stick it up the loft and say it's been stolen if your a crook!
 19. Which would be fraud and not the OPs intention or problem.
 20.
Otherwise, what is the point of anyone going to them to play?
Well heaven forbid, enjoying themselves? Lol
