1. The foam damper was my best upgrade, even better than the Spirocores I'd say! What are the strings like?
2.
On the contrary Pete, I find it's the gigs with music stands where I do leave with £200 - occasionally!!!
Odd isn't it that some people think it looks unprofessional yet I find its the paying gigs that requires one!
3. You dont see one of them every day do you?! Brilliant.
4. I always go to the cinema on holiday, it's a good sit down without nodding off too early to beat jet lag! And yes they do clap at the end of the film!
5.
.....and just when you thought he couldn't be any more of a twat; http://www.telegraph...proof-vest.html Yes he can!
37!? I thought he was much older.
6. Someone said Kim K had a massive arse earlier in the thread, looks to me like she has two massive arses?
7.
Fender acquired GB, GB disappears from the market, Fender releases new lightweight range of amps. It's an easy conclusion to draw, but I can't say I'm an expert, nor have I cracked open my amp to have a look!
I have a hammer and a torch at the ready
8. I had what after much discussion with fellow bass geeks in person we declared a factory refinish pre EB Stingray, the black was on top of black and chipped in places after 30+ years of heavy use but was of a factory finish layered on another for sure, I also had a bitsa Jazz project I bought new that was CAR but a Blue Metalic underneath which was the other colour of only two available for the Affinity Jazz at the time so that must have been a factory refin too, it would have made quite a nice relic with the grinder really with the CAR showing the met blue underneath, both basses belong to bass chatters now but I forget who has what
9.
I was explaining the whole thing to my (non musician) girlfriend. She gave me the wise point of view that to the non-musos in the audience, there's so much stuff on stage (mic stands, PA stands, light stands, backline, drums etc) that the uninitiated have little to no clue what any of it does. They're just there to listen to the music and watch the band perform. Slipping the odd look at a lyric folder means nothing to them at all
I think we made it a rule around page 2 that sensible answers would be banned, this is not allowed, grab your stand and walk out, do not pass go or collect your £200
10. Surely if you are doing toy shops it's fao Schwartz where the walk on piano from the film Big is!
11. Natural history museum of course, make sure you watch night at the museum first if you haven't already. Just being there is like an attraction, sirens and noises, bright lights etc! Enjoy and congratulations too
12. Oh I could claim to love comfortably numb and another brick in the wall if there was some rumpy pumpy on offer
13. There is some presumption that they are based largely on the Genz Benz amps, anyone looked inside any? I liked the Contour amps which I'd guess these are the same as but in a new box.
14. I presume the OP is not familiar with the 'dub scene' relicing brand new Golf R32s and Transporters is common place, I think it looks as sh*t as a relic'd bass, lol
15.
Oh man, you just made me laugh out loud...lol...very funny.
It was too easy to go for, worth it though if it made you laugh
16.
How can you do that while you have your fingers in your ears?
What walking? It's easy
17.
Wash your mouth out with soap and water young man!!!!!!!
I was going to add a "sorry space chick" in advance but I know your sense of humour to be intact
18. I'd rather be caught w*****g than listening to Pink Floyd
19. Manic Street Preachers - Gold Against the Soul Album but that was only for fumbling, I cant recall the record a couple of years later when, you know, "it" happened!
20. It's easier to adapt the 10% of a bass you like 90% of than find one that is 100% what you want off the hook though.
21. I've just had a look my 3 basses are between 6 and 7 mm from the rear of the E string to the face of the pickup so you might be right.
22.
Great minds at 9.47
Ha, naughty boys!
23. That's it then even though we are all guessing at how that dual coil driver works and all advice would normally go against having even a normal driver rated the same as the max output of the amp never mind masking that driver behind a far more efficient higher power handling one before disabling half of it's voice coils. Go for it SaxyBassist but I would listen very carefully to the combo speaker as the volume increases.
24. But under normal usage you would tell that you are driving it too hard, same as with the matching extension cab. Like I said before would we normally suggest a single 150 watt 1x10 with a 400 watt 2x10 with a 300 watt head?
25. I've never had a HH but my method repeated for each should work, try and get a similar output from them both though which could require a bit of give and take from where each sounds at it's best solo'd
