1. If you post up some pics of the nut and bridge we should be able to diagnose further, and welcome to double bass anyway!
2. The Gedo basses are shipped without the strings fitted and the bass stood up in it's crate with no sound post problems,I wonder why they don't drop out, are they tighter on new basses until the wood settles over time?
3. Surely it will need a new nut and the bridge re profiling for the strings to be swapped? If it's a non adjustable bridge you might have to have a new one fitted now anyway or did the seller give you the right hand bridge, if the bass started life as a lefty the finger board could be profiled wrong for right hand use on some basses.
4.
Now that really is devotion..! A lap steel is difficult enough; pedal steel several degrees more so, plus the high cost of an instrument even to learn on..! Good luck in that venture; keep us posted as to results..? Back on topic... Yes, a change is as good as a rest, and there is, indeed, a whole world out there, beyond the db. Yes, I know it's hard to believe, but it's so...
Unless it involves Nicole Sherzinger, Kelly Brook and a Desert Island I will stick with the DB
5. My shuttle max 9.2 isn't suitable for home use, the shuttle 6.0 would be and it has a head phone socket, the fan is quieter than most class D heads. The shuttle 3.0 is perfect as it has no fan, can be pushed further without annoying the neighbours yet will power a good 4x10 or 2x12 at a full on gig.
6. I'm not saying this is the case here but most times I hear "we like to control our own sound" it translates to "we like to deafen the whole pub, probably empty it and make everyone drink in the pub a few doors up"
7. The Genz shuttle 300 Watt version hasn't got a fan finding one for sale might not be so easy though....
8. Its no witch hunt its fair criticism for poor service on ebay, the fact the seller has a lot of good feedback only proves he knew full well how the types of listing work!
9. We use an LD soundsystems pa, it could be mistaken for a guitar amp but it has a tall stack of speakers on top, the other bands arent using something similar are they? its great for pub gigs but we pair it up with some mackie tops and a 1600 watt amp when needed.
10. I'd be round in a flash if I was nearer Gareth! Prime bass, that is awesome even with the wrong number of strings fitted!
11. Our old guitarist used to bring four guitars for various tunings and sounds, the new one brings a variax instead 12 string acoustic to Gibson Les Paul via fretless p bass!
12.
I had 4 SSS and it was brilliant and I wish I'd kept it. Wasn't too much of a fan of the 4 band EQ and preferred it in passive, lots of sounds available regardless just with the pickup selectors. Nice thin sterling size neck (although the 5 will obviously be bigger) the single coils sound the dogs danglies, a lot better than the Sterling's single coil mode. Just a shame that the pick guard hides massive river beds of wires and PCBs, without it it ould look even better.
Got any pics?
13.
Gary at Promenade Music has great prices on EBMMs!
Would I have to order new without trying one first though, does anywhere stock them in the UK?

15. I had that in a dep last year, I had trouble too but I genuinely am quite crap
16. I bet he is going to love 30'000 text messages then, lol Basschatter or not its still shoddy, having your cake and eating it, save on paying for a reserve when listing then if it sells well you win, if not you pull the sale and probably strike up a deal via text and pay no fees at all.
17. Tricky one, it pisses me off then again you have got to give him credit for being up front rather than the usual "my house was broken into and its been stolen" rubbish.
18. What do you think of them JapanAxe? Can mm20 really be the only person on bass chat that has one? I need to rectify that
19. I want one, not seen any in any shops, not seen much talk about them on here, looks like they are more popular in the States? Who wants to let me have a go on one or even trade for a nice 2010 SR5
20. Afaik there is some presumtion that these are running a slightly reworked version of the Genz Shuttle 6.2 amps? Why else would Fender wind up Genz then release a whole range of lightweight amps weeks later ?
21. Its funny how a lot of folk who like genz gear use stingrays or basses with a similar pickup configuration, they pair up nicely imo
22. I want a big Al 5, never seen one for sale though
23. Thats a shame mate although it rained in the day I believe, we did no go down until about 8, just got a light shower, caught a bit of a guy playing some slide near the grain barge, and a band was getting ready when we left at lunch time, had an ampeg fliptop, was it someone on here?
