1. There's a lot more fretless P and stingray on the recordings than people realise if you listen carefully. Check out good old fashioned lover boy for examples of everything said in this thread, brilliant!
2. When you see everyone say "have a few lessons to get you started" it is easy to think how hard can it be?, those rockabillys spin them around and everything! As soon as you actually try and stand with one it all becomes clear that the only way is to have someone physically show you, even the good youtube clips are tricky to grasp imo. Btw Jake im ready for another next time you are up this way, ta
3. Well beedster you know where to come if you dont like it, lol
4. Good stuff, best not rush into the schaller then, I would not have drilled my fb either! thanks
5. No problem let me know either way, saves me getting in trouble with the wife just before we go away! whats your thoughts on the schaller 411? Bear in mind im not the best player in the world, I need a quick gig volume solution mostly blues and slow rock numbers really.
6. This is my first post for months, as its not far from here count me in please I will bring my Gedo half carved with spirocores on and my Yita-music bow.
7. Tatoos, doubles basses, women in their under crackers, whats not to like?
8. Watched, studied and practiced for tonights practice session. Fitted in nicely around the walking basslines from your toolbox and I am working on similar stuff from the rufus reid book and trying to get chord tones nailed, ma7, dominant7, mi and mi7 are coming together now, thanks as ever Geoff.
9. Anyone after a good gigging combo right now needs to bag one of the sell off Genz contour amps, crazy cheap for a great gigging amp and you can add an extra cab if needed. Any comparable combo will cost double in the shops.
10.
Ive got a touch of bleed in the top edge of the binding on my 4003...
Nope cant have, all rics are perfect as 4000 says, all the faults I have found on them that current ric owners have chipped in with through this thread are apparently my subjective opinion as he has never seen them
11. If im using a bass regularly id swap eb strings after 6 months max, if you dont like bright strings id start with something else anyway, I hate rotos but dead rotos sound more like new rotos to me where dead eb strings just sound ready to be swapped?
12. Cant complain at that really, good work.
13. Just watched all five! Looking forward to the next one tomorrow, rhythm. Thanks for posting
14. How much would it really cost them for a new neck? Daft
15. I like the look of those, headphones on after tea, ta
16. Could you just put some kind of power soak in front of the drummers monitoring cab effectively giving them their own volume control?
17. Nice piece of music well played, he appears to be more skilled on the upright than the other basses imo.
18. Is eveyone here more attached to their DB than their elec basses even if the elec basses cost more? I know I am and I am so glad to see Hectors bass repaired, much more than if it were a p bass or something.
19. French bowed db was my favourite, love it!
20.
Survey says no. .
21.
Used to have when they first came out, this is maybe 3 or 4 years ago .
Mine is that old with no fan? 6.0 has a fan but i have never seen a 3.0 with one? I recall a lot of people saying the fan was a lot quieter than most other amps with a fan too, their defence would be that it's a 600 watt head for live gigs rather than quiet practice, that's partly why i bought a 3.0 after my 6.0
