  1. Once we get these in ears fired up after Xmas my only FOH sound will be from the RCF 735s and hopefully the guitarist will be ampless too, that should kill rock and roll off forever!
  2. I think it was more that he wanted a graphite neck, EB didn't make them so he went to Modulus.
  3. This is my rig for 2019!
  4. The x air xr18 has ultranet which I think would do exactly what you want but I not familiar with it myself.
  5. Certainly, it works both ways, treat people how you'd like to be treated. We used to host a little Friday night jam, it was only £90 once a month between three of us but they used to bring out a few plates of this and that every week for us and the punters.
  6. Ha I think we might all be dead by then anyway.
  7. They are battery powered (2x aaa), there's a switch inside you can set for mono or stereo.
  8. Some thing those who say the band are not guests and shouldn't be fed need to think about is that quite often these days weddings are further and further away from towns and cities, I did a dep gig at a wedding in the lake district, we had to be there early to set up, a round trip to a normal food place would have been well over an hour at least, the band wouldn't have got into one car either. A meal in the hotel with a drink would have cost £30 a head easily so we could have either added £180 to the bill or asked for the band to be fed, which they did with platters of sandwiches in the meeting room they'd set aside as a green room.
  9. I can't see much difference between physical sliders and tablet ones, I have the tablet next to me with it set on screen locked onto the FOH mix. I'd rather have a tablet next to me than a desk with wires everywhere.
  10. We should rename the amps and cabs section "kit for dinosaurs" 😜
  11. Something like this? 😎
  12. You could get an extension if you find some you like but with a shorter lead?
  13. I'd go for a five string Fender Jazz, chunky neck and jazz bass tones galore!
  14. That's about what our band gets for the actual gig, lol.
  15. I saw him something the other day and he can't sing at all, the backing vocals were doing all the work.
  16. Far more mature and composed than I would have been with a much better chance of a good outcome.
  17. Good on ya
  18. James Brown had two. Go Robot is performed by Flea and the tour manager on another bass live. Neds Atomic Dustbin?
  19. Our guitarist used to work most Sundays after he got divorced, if we played a function on a Saturday or any day for that matter really he used to take a packed lunch from the buffet, he even had a roll of tin foil in his kit bag! From every venue he did this he took a plate and another plate on top then wrapped it all in foil, in the end he had to start throwing the plates away as his cupboards were too full at home. If there was a hog roast he'd wrap two full buns in his foil and put them in the back of his Fender Twin to keep warm for after the gig. He even slept for free at the hotel one night as they used to give us a room key to the nearest room to the function room as a store for empty cases etc!
  20. The problem with the vegetarian/vegan option I've found from my own circle of friends is that they are also the most picky and awkward, a bbq with my 'normal' friends can be a few burgers, sausages and buns, ketchup and beers. The veggie version always turns into a feast of half eaten stuff on the kitchen table!
  21. Why do vegans and vegetarians feel the need to make themselves sound special? I dont like fish or gammon for example so I'd just avoid it at a buffet, it's a buffet so you just take things you like, aren't allergic to or have moral issues eating. If there's nothing you like get a McDonald's on the way home! 😋
  22. My big rig consists of a dual channel 900 watt Genz Benz head with a price tag of around £1100 originally and a Genz 2x12 coming in at around £800, its loud, too loud tbh yet my long gone old Peavey TNT remains my favourite bass sound of all time.
  23. I normally go straight into the desk pre EQ from an active bass so the front of house only has the digital desk EQ before it hits the audience, I'm hopefully going ampless altogether, bass to BDDI (or similar) to desk, Desk to in ears, done.
  24. I think we all know a guitarist like this, he's trying to decide on your bass tone and lines yet he's adding in solos where one isn't needed! I fear this won't end well 😖
