1.
You'd like my new toy then.
Pics via pm if required then
2. I'd never play it, it would stop me being able to look at it! Glass case above the fire place
3. I have constant gas for a ric, always have had, right up to the point I pick one up! The gas goes for a week or two then returns again, my lack of interest in none fivers has kept it at bay for a good while now though
4.
Yup... I'll second the Thomann vote. Got my first (budget) upright from them.. and apart from the strings (got Innovations on it now ) its a great instrument for the money. And their after market sales are superb. Send it back and get a Thomann would be my advice.
Thomann have just the same issues as seen in the original thread, both companies have been superb everytime anyone has dealt with them so its six and two threes imo, makes a change to try and decide which one is better at being really good!
5. 2 eq rays are the way forward, classic 5 will be my next purchase! Funky
6. Most landlords will get in a mood as soon as they see it, get a 1x12
7.
why not send it back? if this has happened surely it indicates inferior workmanship, youmay fix this now , be happy for a few months and something else will go wrong.
To be fair this looks like a one off from a selection of basses from the company and they offered a choice of repair options to the op, from the service we have all had from Gedo I'm sure if a different problem arises in a few months they will sort it anyway
8. I sanded my neck down including the edges of the board anyway, playing it for twenty years should do the job
9. I have three genz amps and I prefer the FET on the ShuttleMax 9.2, love it, mind you both channels blended together has got some poke!
10. I'd try and put something in the listing to get anyone looking for a cool display piece to find it, fancy cafe or cocktail bar etc?
11. I think as soon as you go to a 5er you need to get out of the idea of wrapping your thumb around the neck like you can on a Jazz bass, it isnt a good technique but it is possible with 4 string basses, a 5 er soon starts to make that technique more difficult.
12. How straight is this neck, either the neck is set too deep into the pocket or it needs either the tilt or probably better as suggested a shim towards the bridge end of the pocket, bit of cereal packet should do the trick.
13. Recorded my gedo for the first time yesterday, j tone and plat pro set to the recommended arco/pizz settings as I only got the plat pro the day before and haven't played with it yet, sounded ok through the studio headphones but then when we played it back through the monitors, WOW! Total fluke to get that sound, just a shame my playing doesn't live up to the same standard
14.
Yes, the micro tilt should now do what you want, but to be honest a 3mm action would be classed as low by the majority of players.
Seriously, you do know it's not a double bass?
15.
Do you mean the bass has a microtilt neck? ... and it's a 1992?
I thought that but not enough of a fender expert to comment earlier
16. In that case maybe a yammy or ibby?
17. This brings up the thin versus narrow thread again, thin for me relates to front to back thickness rather than narrow nut.
18. I can't think of any bridge that has slots filed for the radius rather than for the string to run correctly?
19. Bought a fishman platinum pro off timo , arrived really quick and as described, top fella
20. Double basses look cooler than all guitars and the chicks love it, "my that's a big one!" At my first gig just with the Stagg, the proper Gedo 3/4 should make for a guaranteed encounter with a hot curvy burlesque girl
21. Haha the Gedo basschat club has another member, I can feel it!
22. Im not sure about it, what about stand mounting points too? I have owned various sports cars (MX-5 and MGB GT) the genz 1x12 with a shuttle 6 or 6.2 head would fit in the car and cover most gigs that your current Carlsbro pa is dealing with?
