1. In that case maybe a yammy or ibby?
2. This brings up the thin versus narrow thread again, thin for me relates to front to back thickness rather than narrow nut.
3. I can't think of any bridge that has slots filed for the radius rather than for the string to run correctly?
4. Bought a fishman platinum pro off timo , arrived really quick and as described, top fella
5. Well its a near as I will ever get
6. Double basses look cooler than all guitars and the chicks love it, "my that's a big one!" At my first gig just with the Stagg, the proper Gedo 3/4 should make for a guaranteed encounter with a hot curvy burlesque girl
7. Must be a jazz cat?.......
8. Haha the Gedo basschat club has another member, I can feel it!
9. Im not sure about it, what about stand mounting points too? I have owned various sports cars (MX-5 and MGB GT) the genz 1x12 with a shuttle 6 or 6.2 head would fit in the car and cover most gigs that your current Carlsbro pa is dealing with?
10. Thats £1600 worth of cabs to end up playing through a little combo for your own sound! A good pair of powered 15 PA cabs would cost a lot less then sell your 2x12 and buy the Genz 1x12t instead
11. All in about £935 with the exchange rate including £75 of that for shipping, its lovely I bet the full ply one for £200 or so less is just as good too I just fancied the solid top. I see what you mean about the other post now, its on the bass side rather than under/near the treble side.
12. That is tasty! (white G&L to save confusion as everyone is talking about other basses?)
13. £500 should get a tasty head, I picked up an as new Genz ShuttleMax 9.2 head with carry case and multi foot switch for £530 on ebay!
14. Dougie is a EBMM user so he is alright with me His girly hands have seen him go from a Ray to a Sterling but thats OK.
15. It would look good on display somewhere, that salvage hunter bloke on tv would pay about £25 for it and sell it to some posh toss pot to put in their cafe for about £2500!
16. Could the second sound post be related to the bridge being 2 inches forward of the F hole notches, should the bridge and probably tail piece all be further down the body?
17. I have seen a thread maybe on another forum about it, I think the idea was to wear it like a regular bass!
18. Just watched too, got 13 of them and pleased to say the one I did not know was the guy from Coldplay The thing I always love on that show is the person that goes last always says they only knew the 3 answers the other players knew! So she knew Gene Simmons was/is in Kiss but none of the others? yeah right
19. Maybe that's why mine makes a terrible noise but I fear it might be a different factor, human error!
20. Mine came shipped without the bridge fitted with no problems but I just laid it on it's back on the bed with the head hanging over the end then made sure I didn't knock the bass around, had no problems.
Cheers Pete. I might give it a go. Should I slacken all the strings off? I read somewhere If I do that the soundpost might fall?
21. I thought they were the band names, in a Jools Holland voice "Strange towns!" "The Vans!"
22. I did my own using a good ruler, centred the bridge between the f holes and the strings run niceley up the board, middle of the bridge feet centred on the notches, made sure the bridge sat up square to the body at 90 degrees, 105cm from the nut to the bridge slots. I'm sure someone who knows what they are doing could improve it but it is playable, the Gedo basses are shipped with the bridge removed so you have to fit them anyway, took me a few goes to get it where it is now
23. Beat me too it while I was typing, fx out into fx in will give the tone shaping of combo one into combo two though won't it?
24. Sounds like the tuner out is hotter than your instrument in on the first amp? Try fx return instead but that might be after the eq, maybe take the di from amp one to amp two input?
25.
Instrument insurance is like data backup. You don't get to find out if it's any good until you need to use it. By then if it's not, it's too late.
Like yours my cover got so useless it was a waste of time, e&l paid out with no problems on our dog insurance so I don't doubt they would be ok but like you said unless I am playing it then its probably not covered so I ditched it! My new band has got loads of gigs coming in so I might check out that Allianz one too.
