1. Oh I see, I thought you were suggesting it was an unseen internet purchase and the good luck was sarcastic
2. blimey that is light! my black one can alter the moons orbit
3. Looks simple enough.......I will return once I have tried it
4. Oh no it is not idiot proof is it? we will see about that!
5. OK my little fountain of knowledge here I am again! I have just purchased a plat pro from our very own Timo it should be here fairly soon but until its here obviously I cant try it but can you nice people tell me what your starting point settings would be so I can get a head start when it arrives, I have a half carved bass with a cheap J tone pickup (two black slot mounted piezo one) if that helps? Thanks
6.
BUY IT NOW + AIR MAIL... Goodluck!
Did you read the OP?
7. SUB in the for sale section right now only £300
8. I'd try and keep the stagg though, much easier for live gigs where the visuals are less important, people love my stagg at gigs!
9.
Pics as requested Spanish Cedar Body / Maple top Maple Neck/ Pau Ferro Board[
Nice
10. Still sounds like a jazz to me......
11. I did a gig last night and really needed a stand as there was no corner to put it in, I like the idea of the homemade ones made from a snare drum stand with the top half removed. As for playing while in the stand I don't think its such a good idea plus I like to move about a bit if I can, it took me a while to get the right spot for the body arm but now I can get comfy right away, are you standing properly? Left leg in front like you are fencing, end pin moved away so the bass leans into you, nut set just above your eyebrow.
12. I'd go for a used SUB over a new Sterling by musicman or the new entry level sub although a new sub with a john east preamp could be intresting?
13.
The whole point of Rickenbackers is that they are not like other instruments, and to me that's an advantage. The world of bass guitars would be a dull and boring place if all we had to play were Fender-a-likes.
I know what your saying and my do they look cool but all the ones I have tried had poorly fitting finger boards, neck dive issues and sharp poorly finished hardware, the body edge digs into my arm and the pup cover limits playability, all that combined is why I don't own one. I love Gibson thunderbirds but I have never got a sound I felt useable for what I do out of one so I have never bought one of them either
14. From the rickys I have tried making a model with a lesser standard of quality won't be an option, my £150 squier jazz has a better neck and finger board finish than any proper rick I have ever tried (quite a few). As we all know a Cort factory built version would almost certainly end up better than its full fat version, sure the rick fans will dispute that but the majority of bass players I know would agree.
15. I must admit I have never tried to inspect a Nun's chuff but that is good to know if the situation ever arises, best to be prepared
16.
[sup]The other thing not mentioned yet and sometimes worth a try - make sure the contacts are bent up to touch the battery on the base - this is a problem some people have had.[/sup] [sup]Duracell is your best bet but I've never stumbled over the battery too big fit issue, but will avoid said makes!![/sup] [sup]Finally, does anyone else find their batteries seem to last almost forever these days? I rarely change mine - reckon they last around 12 months.[/sup]

I have had the odd battery that was tighter than a nuns chuff for the EBMM holders too, also it might be worth extracting the whole thing carefully and bend the little tabs back up if they have become stuck in a position where they are not pressing against the battery terminals properly, give them a good clean and look for any loose connections at the same time obviously.
17.
I use a 5-string and a Synth voice on the V-Bass. Think the original part was a synth, Greg Phillinganes played it with one hand!
Nice! Fwiw I cant see the need for that very first part in a covers band can anyone else?
18. Bon Scott and Angus the original Krankies? AC/DC without a Stingray played by the master leaves me a bit cold
19. My pops was in a little pocket of the gig bag, I did not find it for a while, I'm organising some lessons soon so it will be out and about a bit more but I think I will be using the stagg for most of my function band gigs.
