1. Mine came shipped without the bridge fitted with no problems but I just laid it on it's back on the bed with the head hanging over the end then made sure I didn't knock the bass around, had no problems.
Cheers Pete. I might give it a go. Should I slacken all the strings off? I read somewhere If I do that the soundpost might fall?
2. I thought they were the band names, in a Jools Holland voice "Strange towns!" "The Vans!"
3. I did my own using a good ruler, centred the bridge between the f holes and the strings run niceley up the board, middle of the bridge feet centred on the notches, made sure the bridge sat up square to the body at 90 degrees, 105cm from the nut to the bridge slots. I'm sure someone who knows what they are doing could improve it but it is playable, the Gedo basses are shipped with the bridge removed so you have to fit them anyway, took me a few goes to get it where it is now
4. Beat me too it while I was typing, fx out into fx in will give the tone shaping of combo one into combo two though won't it?
5. Sounds like the tuner out is hotter than your instrument in on the first amp? Try fx return instead but that might be after the eq, maybe take the di from amp one to amp two input?
6.
Instrument insurance is like data backup. You don't get to find out if it's any good until you need to use it. By then if it's not, it's too late.
Like yours my cover got so useless it was a waste of time, e&l paid out with no problems on our dog insurance so I don't doubt they would be ok but like you said unless I am playing it then its probably not covered so I ditched it! My new band has got loads of gigs coming in so I might check out that Allianz one too.
7. Just played along to the youtube clip for tonights double bass practice
8. I'm tempted to sell the lot and buy either a Modulus funk5, Lakland 55-02(proper usa one) or a Stingray classic5. Spend the rest on something else, car maybe.
9. Ah the old bridge falling forward problem, karate chop! You might have to redo the top of that bridge then if its been slotted too deep or do you think you can raise that end a bit without raising the other strings too much? Also are the f holes in the centre of the bridge feet?
10. The joys of DB I would say dont change the strings unless you are buying it so start with the adjustable bridge. The string wont of got lower unless the tuning has dropped by quite a bit, is it in tune? If it is could the front of the bass or neck be unstable? If you are going to adjust the bridge I would say two things from my own limited experience so far, put some masking tape to mark exactly where the bridge is before loosening the string tension, it is amazing how easy it is to move it without getting it to seat correctly afterwards! the second thing would be dont remove the strings at all just loosen them enough so as you can raise the bridge, at least if it does fall to bits you will have the marks for the feet and the strings under some tension enough to stand it up and get it roughly in one piece I'm not sure if its right or not but as a rough guide reading other threads I have got mine set with 7.5mm from the underside of the G string to the fingerboard at the end of the fingerboard, rises up to 10mm for the E string roughly. I am tempted to take them all a tad lower but I have the opposite problem in as much as I need to remove a bit of the bridge as my adjusters are right down, I wanted to wait until I was sure the wood has settled as it is a brand new Gedo bass.
11. I'd get two 8 ohm 2x12 cabs if I needed to, btw I love my 9.2 max head
12. No notch as such on the platinum pro but it looks like the bass control and depth knob interact in some way for a similar outcome.
13.
Thanks for the advice chaps, on closer inspection, the duracels were not exactly the same (maybe one was a fake). Anyways I had a good look inside the Nun's chuff and noticed one of the tabs wasn't springing all the way back, so released it and all was good for the gig on Sunday.
14. I think I want a funk5? Can we see a picture of it just for the pornographic nature!?
15.
Are you trying to re-invent the wheel? P.S. - This is just another sad excuse for me to show my Sandberg around,
I like that!

20. OK my little fountain of knowledge here I am again! I have just purchased a plat pro from our very own Timo it should be here fairly soon but until its here obviously I cant try it but can you nice people tell me what your starting point settings would be so I can get a head start when it arrives, I have a half carved bass with a cheap J tone pickup (two black slot mounted piezo one) if that helps? Thanks
