If you didn't like the 2x10 then I can't see how having a 1x10 is going to be a good idea? The 1x10 to my mind is a useful addition to someone who has a selection of heads and cabs but needs a practice amp, without the amp.

I think you could but it would be flat out, I didn't like the tone from them either but that's subjective. Of course the fans won't have a bad word said about them so I'm sure someone will be along to tell me they are playing Wembley in an Iron Maiden tribute without pa support and it's too loud. At least you can try one and send it back if you don't like it. The best solution would be a better pa then you could use a smaller bass cab anyway. We swapped our pa which got rid of two old subs, two power amps/mixers and I went from my 2x12 to my 1x12 for anything other than outdoor gigs, the whole thing takes less time to setup, less storage room, less room in the cars/vans, less room in the venue, it's louder and sounds better!

The guy with the white shirt is clearly loving it, the guy in front of him looks like he is looking over to his partner to see if they are 'taking it all in' so to speak.

As Roger says, I use a schaller and it works great for me, I never going to be in the philharmonic so that's not a worry. I think a simple five string jazz bass pickup possibly mated to a volume and tone pot routed via something like fishman preamp would work fine.

I haven't got the equipment to need to worry about that, not the Wang or the pedal board!

I think it's fairly safe to assume what would cause offence, yes it's still the choice of the person to take offence but would you give a talk about how the holocaust was a hoax outside a synagogue? Walk around a mosque with dirty shoes on eating a sausage roll? Unless you are either trying to incite hatred or a total moron it's safe to assume the 'hit rate' of offended people in those scenarios would be 100% Playing killing in the name in a rock bar, far less likely.

My Shuttlemax and matching 4 ohm cab rarely gets used, 1x12 and a Shuttle 6.0 does most of my gigs, I let the pa do the heavy lifting.

If you take into account that variations are available from less than £100 ranging upto many thousands then surely there are always going to be basses for sale at every price point as people sell their old ones to buy more expensive versions?

With the 12.2 you could run two of those together which even with the reduced wattage to 600 per cab the total 1200 Watts through twice as many speakers would be epic compared to a single cab being driven off the 900 head or even an equivalent 1200 watt amp. What we really wanted was an 18.2 with two of the 900 watt power stages, 1800 Watts into two 4 ohm 8x10s, that would get the pub rocking!
