1. What is the best chainsaw for metal?
2.
Nope..because it delays the exit and prolongs the time spent at the gig. We quote for 2 hrs and after that we are packing up.
Hopefully the bride and groom will ring another band more obliging and pay a little bit more for the priveledge then
3. Unless you can drum up a crowd I cant see how anyone can get paid more than a few quid each for original material? Doing your own songs and moving to London will just cost you extra to travel to London IME Good covers band or tribute act well thats different but originals bands equals £1 per ticket if you can sell more than 20 or similar.
4.
Just to clarify it's the copper piezo one that fits under the bridge :-)
Ah ok mate that's not the one I'm after at the moment
5. Is this the one that clamps onto the bridge and has a built in volume pot or one the ones that fits under the bridge feet? If its the clamp one I will take it please
6. One that's not gone off would be a start but I will try to soften this one again, I could do with a proper shop that sells it.
7. That's exactly it, I removed the foil to try and find a useable bit but its all hard and even leaving it on the radiator doesn't soften it much.
8. The Nymans I have already got is solid, that's the problem
9. I have one of everything already
10. Hi mate, the fet can only be had on the 3.0 that you have or the max heads which I have purchased actually since this thread last cropped up! What are you running then a 1x8 and a 2x10? There should be no problem with the head, I have used my 3.0 through my 2x12T and i is not that far behind the 6.0, the 9.2 Max is another beast alltogether
11. Thanks Floyd if it goes well I can always think about trading up at a later date , I have another pre EB to sell if I need to I am hoping that this could be good for a while and if looked after and setup well should be a nice bass for the next user, there are always people after a good starter bass, if this one was for sale on here now for about £600 I would of snapped it up Had confirmation of shipping today so it could get here before the weekend!
12.
Is there a prize for getting Pete to buy the rosin we recommend? I suppose I could shout louder about Pops if there is. I'm pretty sure that Kolstein isn't the only rosin that works.
Well I was originally thinking Pops! Why cant things be simple?
13. Yes, I am having an adjustable bridge fitted and Spirocore weich strings the same as on my Stagg (cheaper than you buy them here for too), I am hoping that with the ebony board and carved top, adjustable bridge and proper strings it should be at least a decent beginner bass? and if not at least all the major things are there for someone to set it up better at a later date if it needs a board shoot and stuff Looking at my account earlier it has not cleared yet but it is looking like £871 after the currency conversion.
14.
US Spector NS2 I believe. Flea used that bass to record on Mother's Milk and Uplift Mofo. The Ampeg rig was just a hired backline.
This is what I thought but how do we know?
15.
I'm so glad that there's absolutely no way I can quickly get the money together for this!
likewise! just sold my black one, the wife really would kill me if I bought another This is the first inca I have ever seen for sale, awesome.
16. And only if the pub is shut?
17.
Because you need to shop somewhere where other people speak like they have a mouth full of marbles i suppose? I've never set foot in a waitrose. We don't have them here.
If you add up your monthly shopping bill and send me 15 percent of that amount you can pretend you have been there!
18. You could slot in behind Chrismuzz if you have a gig just after his or even go after me and you pass it to the Stokeys!
19.
Nah I'm sure he used to use Spector basses in the early days. That's what his rig looked like in 1989 I guess?
I guess we all learn, even flea
20. Someone in the Walsall area with a gig on the 16th would be ideal, anyone????
21. I could meet up with you Rushbo to get the bass but it would be nice to get at least one or two more people between us wouldn't it? (I can't make the 9th )
22.
Brillant stuff. Now to find the time for 6 hours of practice a day.
Practice, whats that then?
