  1. As I put in another thread recently, you don't have to have the 80s style five string, this is mine.
  2. That's like anything, if you don't need it then the 'extra' isn't actually a bonus is it. A 12.2 running a pair of 4 ohm 4x10s would out do the 9.2 running a 4 ohm 8x10, I imagine that's the market its aimed at?
  3. I think the 12.2 running two noexT 2x12 cabs would be fairly massive. I've got a 3.0, a 6.0 and a 9.2 Shuttle max, the 600 is plenty to be fair when used with a four ohm cab. I've even used the 3.0 with the big cab and it's enough for any gig really.
  4. How many 1200watt 4 ohm cabs are on the market? You can have two 4 ohm cabs and use just one at 600watt or use two for bigger gigs. Genz made 600watt 4 ohm cabs at the time remember.
  5. ^ I don't think that has 2 MM pickups?
  6. I've never understood the "not versatile" thing, there must be an example of one being used in every genre of music to good affect. I think there are players that have a fixed way of playing that are used to being able to adjust from front to back pickup along with the tone or EQ controls to get a variety of sounds, imo it's the player that lacks the versatility not the bass.
  7. You can run either a pair of 4 ohm cabs at the full 1200watts, say two genz 2x12 or four 8ohm 4x10s all at full tilt, did someone mention heft?
  8. It's only a good tone of it's one you like.
  9. Put crap in and you'll get crap out, put clean in and it can be made decent. I use my built in di but on pre EQ.
  10. That looks fantastic, they really are a proper upright imo.
  11. Yeah the pearloid looks OK there against the dark board rather than maple, but then it commits the crime of having rear routed pots but a scratch plate with no control plate! That said one of the best basses I ever played was the same, an Xotic jazz.
  12. A lot of these copies are made in factories where the people making them have probably never seen a real one, they can't help but build them to a better standard which gives the game away! 😁
  13. I like tort on black but not with the pearloid blocks I'm afraid.
  14. Rainbow Rolex like the sultan of Brunei?
  15. The tolex will probably fall off fairly soon anyway
  16. We're not putting anything on the net in case he uses it in his defence, if it's where I expect it will be then it will be a fair distance from you.
  17. If would make a good news story if loads of us turned up outside the courts, not far from me either, lol.
  18. I know we are keeping the details quiet for now but do we know roughly when he'll be in court yet?
  19. AFAIK there's no rule to say you can't have both a custom built and a mass produced bass at the same time anyway, I could enjoy both! There are plenty of examples of high profile players far better than me using off the hook Rays in all genres of music, time spent lusting over custom build basses would be better spent practicing for me.
  20. I've seen him use the modulus basses on the last tour.
  21. They are doing a sparkley silver!
  22. Yes but you can get a close idea of what you'll be getting by trying a mass produced bass in a shop before ordering one, making a list of all the things you like and having that built often leads to disappointment.
  23. Can you get a brand new Ray for £1299?
  24. So many of these perfect "exact spec" basses get sold on within a year or two in my experience.
  25. Just one listed on their site, built in California.
