1. Bass direct pilgrimage, its not far really from the Wirral
2.
Weich, mittel or stark??
3/4 or 4/4?
3. I'm saying nothing, see my broken wrist thread!
4.
The OP got his answer in #3. From his reply in #4 the subject moved on. Keep up.
If he stays passive passive he may never know the joys of active, passive warwick what's that about anyway?
5. I have put it on the radiator and softened it a bit, worked OK for a while and I was sounding alright with the bow then the centre of the bow started to lose grip. I am going to wait until I have had my first lesson and see what Doddy thinks of the rosin and what tension the bow should be
6. I nearly bought something else once, wont happen again My last 6 bass purchases were single pup Rays barring one which is a Jazz Bass.
7.
It would have been better if it was Blue
It is blue but I cant upload pics right now, If you send me the money via western union I can post right away?* *never
8. Flipping Eck! this thread is still limping along then.....
9.
I've been playing active basses for over 20 years and I'm very happy with the sound of the passive bass I've been playing for the last 2 years. One isn't better than the other, so I'd just go with the one which gives you the tone you want.
Haha I like it! The default passive/active answer even though the OP never asked that! In other news Flea, Its not about the extra notes more about playing across the board & Jackson basses are good for metal
10. Looking at the sellers feedback on here previous members had to weight quite a while for it to be shipped if that helps?
11.
Me too - though in my case I don't think it was a brother - then I can be the old sod at the end of the bar dribbling that "I gave them their first break" when they show up on Jools Holland.
Certainly we did all the hard work IMO
12.
I did that too a few years ago; the poster was looking for any gear that a friend of his could use. I didn't see how it ended up, or if they still post.
I guess this is life I presume the BC member that took it did indeed give it to his brother and anyway it was not worth a lot £30-40 maybe, on the other hand I hope his brother is still playing and if by selling that amp on here for say £30 gets him £30 to put towards a bigger amp I would be more than happy for him
13. FWIW I am not here to sell things to people who cant afford them at the full market price but on the other hand if you check out my feedback you will see I gave an amp away for free as it was surplus to my requirements so you should take every transaction as you find it imo
14. If the bass has been hanging around for weeks unsold before someone like me might think 'at that price I will have that even if I dont keep it' everyone has had plenty of chance to buy it and the fact it did not sell at the low price should be a warning to the 'flipper' that they might get stuck with it themselves anyway.
15. I never clean them other than a rub with a dry cloth when I change the strings, other than that I run 1200 grit paper over the back of the neck now and again
16. I used to rotate them all but the 4 stringers are getting less of an outing in live situations other than the odd jam night partly to let the 4 bangers play on
17.
I was thinking more of the moral indignation in the Ebay thread about that luthier MDP & how much he's not getting for stuff he paid sh*te-pence for the week before. All it would take would be a few "Is that the same bass you paid me less than half that for 6 months ago?", to make a possible mug think again & either decide it's still worth it or pocket their stash until something more appropriate to their needs comes along". The only ones with anything to lose in such a scenario are the flippers.
In that case- The seller sold it too cheap by not doing their homework The seller was desperate for cash The market has shot up maybe due to a reunion of a band that features the instrument in question etc None of the above are the new sellers fault or give an obligation to give the bass away
18. Has it really been two weeks since this was done to death? Might aswell do it again anyway then! Items sell for what they are worth to the person buying them, if that's not you or you can't afford it then its tough luck imo, if I buy a bass mainly because I feel it went for less than it might on another day perhaps because the seller did a bad job of listing it or because I drove miles to collect it because the seller would not post it why should I give it away for possibly a few hundred pound less than other similar basses listed on here/ebay at the same time, all that would do is reduce the market value of the other basses. I won't be selling my black pre eb on here at the price I paid for it anytime soon
19. If someone decides to do it can they perform a plays like butter test too? Would need some kind of butter scale from "cheap margarine that rips the bread when trying to spread it" through to "Lurpak left on the radiator"
20. It's
21.
Oops. Meant to say he rewired it to fix it after new owners bought the studios
its not very often I get to comment on someones grammer or spelling, you have got to let me have that one
22. Can you tell me how much shipping to Sweden would be? I don't live there I was just wondering.
23. I don't like a jazz nut or the Ibanez either really, I do like a thin neck depth wise but narrow nut widths don't do it for me. I'd still play a whole gig on one,I do have a jazz, but overall I prefer a bit of meat.
24. They will have one mate, just looking on their crap site but cant search for one but they must sell them maybe with either the tools or the sockets and cable etc. One of these shared between the band might be an idea if the place is a bit of a dive, use it for all your gear at gigs from then on too.
