1. Ha problem solved then!
2.
I had a lovely Warwick, sold it, and bought and sold loads of basses in the space of a couple of years. I ended up going back to Warwick, they are brilliant in every way, and pretty much every bass feels the same, the QC and support is remarkable, something sadly lacking in so many manufacturers.
Have you seen the near identicle warwick thread?
3. All the ones missing a B string are mainly for home or studio use only which is a shame
4. So how will you get it to gigs? We just swapped our Micra (great cars, our second!) for a Focus which will fit a Db inside........hhhmmmmmm.
5. Thats a bit sh*t, have you posted on the musicman forum yet? even some kind of cost price or close to deal would be a start!
6. I am swaying too but there is no way I would sell my Stagg, its too handy for practicing and gigs where the acoustic either wont fit or cant get there transportation wise.
7. All my basses have dunlop straplocks and I carry one strap for them all, on the rare occasion I take just a hard case to a jam night I normally get to the folowing gig without the strap as its in a different case with the wrong bass now I tend to keep everything required for a world tour in a seperate bag!
8. You would not want to make a 70's Ricky unplayable....oh hang on.....sorry could not resist, as you were
9. We do this version of feel good inc, a great example of how a 5 can sound great used as a 5, it has that sound on the other strings that some people cant get on with but used in the right context it sounds ace! (dont listen on ipod/laptop etc) There is an open B under a lovely guitar chord where it all drops out that makes playing a 5 worthwhile all on its own http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Uv0rOcdqdA On the other hand I also love being able to learn a song once in one position then being able to shift a whole tone or more without any trouble at all.
10. Oh no is this not a good thing! I thought the w***er sign and similar ones were signs of appreciation as we get them at most gigs
11. I cant beleive this is still available!
12.
Like it... might even do it later, saves taking the amp out...
What have you got to lose if the pot snaps in half trying? well £1.28p but you know what I mean!
13.
Pete's next trick will be to tell us how to get 12 cups of tea out of one teabag...
I was not like this until you taught me your make do and mend philosphy in the gardening thread!
14. "Probably the last bass I will ever buy" filed under "never drinking again" and "I swear thats the last time I am sleeping with her"
15. They only ever fetch about half of what they should IMO! My 320 which has quite a few upgrades from the 310 sold for £250 for example
16. Changed my mind, little pan head self tapper screwed in to the stub, test it to see if the old pots work then if they do all you need to do is epoxy glue the knob to the head of the screw! There is 64 pence per pot at stake here!
17. Just in from band practice now, out tomorrow night in Bristol fit the weekend so not coming along too well really! Next week I promise......
18. No problem just off to practice right now but I will send you some asap
19.
Didn't quite work, the pads aren't thick enough to reach the strings! Trying to locate a mouse-mat.
PM me your address and I will send you a chunk of the foam I used, I have plenty spare.
20. I would get a little 1.0mm drill bit and drill the remaining bit then glue a tiny dowel of some sort into place then do the reverse to a piece that fits the knob or even the actual original bits if you have them? I tiny dab of araldite between the two and duct tape it all in place leaving it a good 24 hours and it will be as good as new! Good dose of servisol over everything and then keep a dust cover over it, I loved my old tnt
21.
could you not change how the speakers in the cab are wired together, so have two sets of two which should give you a 4 ohm cab?
350 watts through a 120watt guitar cab should sound erm well erm......
22.
Yep a mirror is one of the best practice tools, spend your first couple of weeks playing in front of one to make sure nothings going askew. You can keep an eye on your fingers as well as your bowing technique.
I have actually got a long mirror on the landing opposite where I practice so I will move out onto there
