Boo sat here baby sitting while it gathers dust! first impressions were on how good the gig bag is, proper cosy gortex with quality zips, from what some folk said maybe these have been upgraded? Set it up and I can hear the end pin making a noise so that needs sorting if anyone knows exactly what the fix is? Nut is not too bad just need a little bit maybe, bridge needs to come down lots but its easy enough to do as I have already done it quite a bit.strings seam ok actually not too worried at the moment.it has a bit of a swishy sound when I'm playing kind of like a flat battery which it could be, I will pop a Duracell in tomorrow and see. I have used a chunk of the packing foam to dampen the strings below the bridge. Thats it for now but I like it already I soon got a tune out of it as is with a broken wrist and crap set up things can only get better

Love the community here. [/quote] Oh yes I am loving the Db section of the forum where I have never ventured before! How much of a novice are you if you dont mind me asking, I can play regular bass and have done for many years so I can see that as a help over someone starting to play an instrument especially a strung one and at the same time I will be bringing all my bad habits with me! Would you really want the hassle of a normal bass though especially when learning the basics? I have not really got the room for one nor the desire to lug one around, If anything I will be looking for a better EUB if and when the time comes, maybe a Yamaha Silent bass.

Just been looking on UPS website and it can be upto 7pm or later during the holiday period! Guess what I'm out babysitting tonight for my sisters kids, you know whats going to happen. Even if it comes I wont be able to mess with it Arrrghh. Funny thing is until this morning I would of been happy with friday or saturday now I know its around here somewhere I want it now!!!

[/quote] So do I, too zingy really and they lack the thump of a pre EB, either have more than enough top end for anything I have ever wanted to do though. Strung through pre EBs has more tension on the strings which will add a bit of something extra for the ham fisted slapper and possibly what gives them the extra thump? That said my '82 is top loaded and has more thump than any EBMM anyway. The SR5's I find a totally different animal really for this genre at least.

I dont think so and although either version will give you that sizzle on the top end and the thump on the bottom people claim a P bass can do but can't I am not sure it will make slap that much easier for you to be honest, practice practice practice. That said sometimes a new found love and the tone you are after can inspire you to practice so there is some value to it Loads of slap records have been done on Jazz basses, P basses and 2 or 3 EQ Stingrays over the years

Ha you know what my wife would say! I do fancy a bow and they do a carbon one which I am told is the only budget option (Db world now folks carbon is budget!) and some strings maybe if I need them but its going to be a january order if not after (you know me I am lying I will be buying stuff by the weekend).

Everything else is the same and the colours are not only available on the 133 so once you leave the shop it makes no difference at all (other than the case)

If you are referring to the 133 series then they are 2 band (which I prefer anyway) but they [u]dont have a hard case [/u]and come in for £1000 sometimes with a limited range of colours. There is some extra work involved in a 3 band as the body has to be drilled for the jack socket because its not on the control plate anymore but thats not a massive deal. I would go for a 2 band everytime myself

I cant even play a fretless so I cant see me gigging with it anytime soon! I am watching the front door like a hawk now, what is they say ..... a watched pot never boils Managed to get to the job and home with no calling card on the mat though so fingers crossed................
