1.
Don't patronise me, man! You never answerewd my question: WHY did you bring those two topics into the conversation?
You say don't patronise you but can't you read?
2. Maybe we have very different thresholds for being offended or maybe the term offended has become meaningless like lots of other words? My point about cancer and shootings was there as a yard stick for how bad things in life can be so spending a moment more of yours being genuinely offended by a so called low ball is maybe wasting your precious time, obviously you appear happy to feel that way so as you were
3. There's more to life that getting insulted over things like a low offer that takes either a second to delete or 30 seconds to reply to even be offensive back if you like, wouldn't bother me. As we can see from your post your easily offended and where does it say you can't be ridiculed on a public forum? When people are dying of cancer or just had their child shot saying you are genuinely offended by stuff like a low offer on ebay or a forum is ridiculous imo
4.
Can you be insulted by someone you don't know and have never met? Other than that, it's just someone making an offer you are going to refuse. What are you planning on doing with your indignation?
Ranting on basschat most of 'em
5.
My experience of working with the 16-25 kinda age range is that a lot more of the younger kids are wearing them, so someone is doing something right. In general its about a 50/50 split among my peers. I suffered hearing loss when i was small, so i almost always wear them. Especially in practice wear the noise gets "boxed in". Has anyone ever tried going high tech and using noise cancelling headphones? if so do they work well?
Thats good to know then I would say 15 years ago it would of been 1 in 50 that wore anything, I wasn't the one either
6. Many people are up against it at the moment and people know this, how much of the market value do we buy any car offer you (plus they aim to pay less than half of the offer when you get there to do the deal) look at the apr on log book loans and quick quid etc, Letting a Rick go for maybe £750 after the initial bartering has begun from the £500 could be a better option than going to cash converters or Wonga.com for example, those companies would not be going if no one needed them.
7.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TF4sJHBIYEo And it's a piccolo... watch those string literally strip the finish before your very eyes....
Works ok on lefties only?
8. Still can't beleive we posted at 11.53 exactly!
9. So you could of said
You do know it will be useless afterwards right? All I will say is make sure you remove any old finish and prime it.then coat it with clear epoxy afterwards
?
10. sh*t and thomann have sold over a 1000 of them!
11. Better send my painted board eub back then
12. Check out ebs freaks white gb with blue leds in the white bass porn, useless you say letts? nah
13. Pardon In all seriousness that's good news and a lesson to us all, no one in my age group wore ear plugs when we started in the 90's and I bet we will all pay for it! Do the youth of today wear them or is it uncool? Docs pro plugs all the way I say
14. No problem John I get your point slightly, a pro setup (often worse than my own effort) and a set of new rotosounds (which I hate) is not a modded bass, but my £150 affinity jazz has £400 worth of ad ons even if sold the bits at half price which would be like watching piranhas at work if I listed them on here at that trust me, that's £200 plus the jazz with the stock parts and the rolled frets I can't sell for say £90? Offers of half the cost of the stock bass at £75 would not be concidered that said I would not be offended as some people say they are
15.
Yeah, I think I know what you're talking about there. An upgraded Squier is still a Squier. If you want to pay top dollar, fill your boots, but not for me. It's still a Squier - just like the one in my Avatar, of which I'm still fond. But S/H is usually less than new, you'd think. Regardless of upgrades.
That's nonsense, the parts on my squier would sell second hand for the price of a standard squier bass alone, there are plenty of people who would pay what you are calling over the odds only to part it all out on ebay a week later and sell the bass as standard again.
16. I always thought it was "Endorsed By Slappers"?
17. Dont worry I will start a "what strings do you use" thread once I get to that stage! Are those threads as volatile here as they are in general chat? I have had my cast removed, massive plate under my fore arm with 1 1/4 screws everywhere! So far so good though hopefully by the time the EUB arrives it will have a bit of strength back, I have had my thomann posted email too so here is hoping for friday maybe even thursday depending on christmas post etc
18. Yep I have had it the other way round many more times, I have lusted over Rickys many times until I play one, same as T birds Im happy the Staus is working out though
19. Happy birthday and heres to hoping this does the trick!
20. If you fancy a 5 I would go straight in TBH, I wish i had started on one. Sure it might not be up to some of the standards people here are after but for a beginner the Yamaha or Ibbys are plenty good enough IMO, should be able to get a good used 5er and an amp for 500 euros IMO
21.
Best to make sure you dont overdo it at first, if you're not used to the scale length you might be getting a few aches and pains.
Good point, little sessions at a time I'm thinking.
22.
Very good
Couldn't resist They have gone from the easiest to the hardest to understand in a decade, what's the boss called again? Oh yeah Sterling!
