Are Stingrays the new Warwicks, price wise?
'stingrayPete1977' Gratuitous Ray shot just for fun MB1. Hey Pete! Think you'll need to get the duster out there's some right muck lurking In the top corner! Ha ha (In this house,we don't use the"F" word!)
Well its not a real one if that counts -
£300 would be a steal. That thing plays and sounds sublime. But yeah, realising £200 for it is probably about as good as it gets
Dont worry its not for sale
My 3EQ Ray sold for £630 a few months ago, might have to nab one quick. God I love that tone
Crazy cheap! You can see why no one is paying the £8-900 some people are asking -
Here is an example- I bought an Affinity Jazz for £150 new, I have added; Bartolini pickups £130+ a pair? BadAss bridge £100 when available? Fender Pickguard £30? Full size tuners £40? Free fitting as a mate did it but would need headstock drilling at someones cost if you cant do it. EBS active pre amp £100 and moved jack socket onto the body to free up the hole etc which would all cost to be done normally if you cant. New knobs £15. So whats that, £565 and whats it worth £300? I would be better off selling it in bits!

If you can bag one before they go back up you could do well there, I do quite like a bit of GB gear! the cabs live in the kitchen If the prices were like they are now I would not of bought the Blue Pearl 5 new, whats list price on that now £1900? If I tried to sell it £850? Just googled and GAK do a blue pearl posted for £1499! -
I have not posted a pic here for a while, here is how they line up for now. I fancy getting shut of the Jazz for a ClassicRay 5 though

Loads of crazy cheap Rays about now I have noticed, any more reductions will see a few USA ones in the £500-£600 bracket which I have never seen before, there are some in the FS section right now for £625-700. A corking flamed neck early 90's went unsold on ebay for £800 a few days ago which a year ago would of been £900+ in our for sale section with no ebay fees! Someone bagged a Ray 5 for £532 on ebay a few days ago! Is this just a sign of the times and only a few weeks until christmas or will all the Warwick jokes be coming to the EBMM owners soon? Pre EB's have either held the same or even gone up if people both on here and ebay are acheiving even close (within £300) of the asking prices and appear to be following the trend of pre CBS Fenders and even 70's Fenders gathering pace although you would struggle to do a straight trade for a late 70's P or J for a pre EB of the same condition it looks to me?

Im not normally a big fan of the Reflex but it looks good in that colour combination
So, we have a wall outlet protected by a 30/32A device in the consumer unit, which provides the correct protection for the ring main wiring. We then have a 13A mains lead plugged into that wall outlet, which is correctly protected by a 13A fuse in the mains plug. We then have an amplifier (in this case) connected to the 13A mains lead, which is protected by the appropriate fuse on the amp itself.
This is essentially what the Regs book states throughout, if it were an exam you would get an A* A fuse and means of isolation at any point where the circuit either divides or reduces in conductor size is the basic jist of it.
Find out who you need to speak to first before going in and asking/ringing. "Can I speak to Dave/Susan/Kev please" sounds better than "Who is it that books the bands here?". That way you shouldn't be fobbed off with "they're busy/on the phone/we're fully booked" before you have even spoken to them. Dan
Good point which sort of links to my earlier post, ask other bands who you need to talk to at certain venues

Here you go then clever clogs The fuses at the distribution board for the radial circuits in the EU will be a minimum of 16A possibly 20A so what difference will a 13A fuse here make? If it was covered by an BS60898 MCB or even an BS61009 RCBO even of 32A there is a good chance it will blow before a 13A BS1362 fuse anyway especially if the trip is a B type or type 2 BS3871 MCB. If it was so dangerous the lead would not be removable as has been said before, the fuse covers the piece of cable which is usually no less than 1.5mm flex rated at approx 18A (or 1.0mm HR/similar rated higher than single core 1.0mm) hence the max 13A fuse which is the biggest available for a plugtop. FWIW all three of the leads that came supplied with my Genz Benz amps state 13A on the fuse carrier/plug molding and have 13A fuses installed from the supplier so I think I would have more chance of sueing them that a member of BC if it were the case

Befriend as many other bands as possible along the way, we get lots of gigs from other bands that have either had to cancel themselves or been asked by the venue if they know of another band as someone else has dropped out

Can the X Factor judges hear what we hear on the TV?
stingrayPete1977 replied to leschirons's topic in General Discussion
I treated myself to a pointless blue one... Garry
Yep I tried the gravatar thing this morning, crap ain't it?! Gave up and opened a photobucket account instead after it would not let me crop the image and nothing on basschat wants to upload any other way! -
Yes - I'm allowing myself to post in General Discussion, but not Off Topic.
This is my new strategy also, working well so far. I don't even peek in there! -

I think the Genz GBE heads run down to 2 ohms, two of them and a second hand gbe 750 would make for tasty rig for the money!

No pictures meens no bass, lets see it! I have gassed over a duck egg blue one for a while, all EBS_freaks fault naturally!

I nearly traded my old teal stingray for one a while ago on here, I fell in love with the look as it was the blue bowling ball finish but unfortunately in the flesh as is apparantly quite common the finish was all coming away The emg's did not put me off just the condition, yours looks good
