1. I cant really see the point of tribute acts for artists still out there performing?
2. I just popped into town and there was a Robbie Williams take off doing his swing band thing, very odd really.
3. Thats the best era of Ray IMO, 6 bolt neck, wheel of fortune, muted bridge, figured neck and the contoured body. You cant get that combination any other way
4. The nicest Jazz type bass I have played out of all the fancy ones and I have tried quite a few!
5. Only another drummer but they would need a lift to and from the venue, then forget something like the crowbar anyway!
6.
If you don't know the measurement method/conditions then yes, they mean nothing.
And even if you do they might just double them
7. Really unless someone comes up with a standard test its all nonsense
8. Is it possible the label only really want one of the guys and you are the first to go like this? Have you been replaced or has the label 'provided' a bass player for them?
9. The best you could hope for is a mention in the album sleeve which is mostly a thing of the past these days
10. I think the TC 450's turned out to be 256 watts the 750's quite a bit more. Thats why I wondered about the modules as someone would of made that link earlier.
11. It wont take long for the new bass player (or a session player) to redo all the bass lines on the album though, whether that ruins the songs or makes them better is subjective. The songs would need a bass hook something like Fleetwood mac's The Chain, Queen's Under Pressure or AOBTD to get any kind of legal challenge, its hard to put your name to inventing the major/minor scales.
12. And has the 750 got the 500 watt module from my Shittle 6.0?
13. So which model of module has the the 450 got then? Is the B&O rating false and its their fault TC got a slating for quoting their amp at 450 watts with a 500 watt module or has it got the same module as my Shuttle 3.0 which was naughty of Genz to call it 300 watts with the 250 module but no where near as naughty as TC for trying to claim it as 450?
14. Does anyone know exactly which amps do use them genz do but which other are for certain?
15.
Sounds like the same thing we had with the TC RH450 and 750
At least these manage 5/6ths of the stated output rather than just over half though
16.
I find it amusing in the Class D world that all the manufacturers have different claims as to the watts. They all use the same power section because Class D technology is patented and owned by B&O. If you open the amp up you will usually see the B&O ICE module in there separated from the rest. They are all pretty much the same. My Genz Benz claims to be 600w but has the 500w ICE module in it for example... http://www.icepower....peaker/A_SERIES In reality, watts don't really matter as long as your amp is loud enough for what you need. And don't get me started on valve watts vs solid state watts!
But thats still using their quoted figures and that might be working on the amp working in a different way regarding clean outputs for normal music etc rather than instruments, also by your method the Streamliner 900 and Shuttle 9.0/9.2 are putting out 1000 watts rather than 900? Makes me want a 9.2 Max even more now
17. still sounds wrong IMO, where are the resident experts when you need them...........
18. it wont let me edit my post? I meant output at 8 ohm is usually over half of that at 4 ohm.
19. All the figures I have heard the 8 ohm load is usually more than half of the 4 ohm, Mt Genz 6.0 is 600watts at 4 and 375 at 8 for example (allegedly) and the 3.0 300 at 4 ohms, 175 at 8 for example. Sounds wrong to me too although your point is still valid but as its almost impossible to do anything about it I will do as Nottswarwick does and just use the old lugholes to decide
20. Awesome, and on to the next one now even if the odd ding gets collected on the way
21.
Anyone who thinks that image in an originals band is unimportant is severely deluding themselves.
Lack of image and the weight of the members are different things though, An indie type band with a huge guy/girl playing a bit of upright would be cool for instance IMO, the problem is the labels just want another One Direction on their books. The funny thing is the buying public are ready for it even in pop bands but the industry is always too scared to provide it IMO. We have had some lets not mince our words 'fat' artists in pop but they were crap artists rather than being crap because they were overweight. Time for a good indie band with a couple of bigger fellows I'd say
