Sounds like the same thing we had with the TC RH450 and 750
At least these manage 5/6ths of the stated output rather than just over half though -
I find it amusing in the Class D world that all the manufacturers have different claims as to the watts. They all use the same power section because Class D technology is patented and owned by B&O. If you open the amp up you will usually see the B&O ICE module in there separated from the rest. They are all pretty much the same. My Genz Benz claims to be 600w but has the 500w ICE module in it for example... http://www.icepower....peaker/A_SERIES In reality, watts don't really matter as long as your amp is loud enough for what you need. And don't get me started on valve watts vs solid state watts!
But thats still using their quoted figures and that might be working on the amp working in a different way regarding clean outputs for normal music etc rather than instruments, also by your method the Streamliner 900 and Shuttle 9.0/9.2 are putting out 1000 watts rather than 900? Makes me want a 9.2 Max even more now -

still sounds wrong IMO, where are the resident experts when you need them........... -

it wont let me edit my post? I meant output at 8 ohm is usually over half of that at 4 ohm. -

All the figures I have heard the 8 ohm load is usually more than half of the 4 ohm, Mt Genz 6.0 is 600watts at 4 and 375 at 8 for example (allegedly) and the 3.0 300 at 4 ohms, 175 at 8 for example. Sounds wrong to me too although your point is still valid but as its almost impossible to do anything about it I will do as Nottswarwick does and just use the old lugholes to decide -
Awesome, and on to the next one now even if the odd ding gets collected on the way
Anyone who thinks that image in an originals band is unimportant is severely deluding themselves.
Lack of image and the weight of the members are different things though, An indie type band with a huge guy/girl playing a bit of upright would be cool for instance IMO, the problem is the labels just want another One Direction on their books. The funny thing is the buying public are ready for it even in pop bands but the industry is always too scared to provide it IMO. We have had some lets not mince our words 'fat' artists in pop but they were crap artists rather than being crap because they were overweight. Time for a good indie band with a couple of bigger fellows I'd say
That sucks big time. Seems to me they are not worth your time. Good luck dealing with this! That said, you are overweight and badly need a litte Genz-Benz amp and two Barefaced cabs. best, bert
brilliant, my combined gear and bass body mass index is pretty good, more pies please!

There's plenty of big people in music, just not bullshit pop music. Pavarotti and meat loaf were not waifs and the big guy in bowling for soup should if anything be a role model to show people you can be the cool one in the band too! I'm not slim but would more likely of been kicked out for being a sh*t player instead! If they have gone along with it I'd say your best off out of it before it goes tits up?
-
I have never heard of a band that went on to do any good after being treacherous like this. If a label had asked me to kick a member out for being fat I'd of walked out of the meeting!

I am reading brown eyed girl at the moment, it's got some trickier bits and it's taking me a while but it's fun. The riff comes in on the and of 3, I have started to read across the bars and just play the notes at the rhythms I see , did I see you say that was ok somewhere before Doddy, more akin to just sight reading the notes? Ta Funny thing is I can already play it well enough for a dep wedding gig in a couple of weeks time, it's purely for my sadistic pleasure!

That book helped me a lot, I got it after you suggested it in another thread. Got a bit tired of playing E though I'm getting there slowly, in the same way the notes mostly come without thinking now I have had a few little auto pilot moments where the rhythms just went to plan without thinking.

That's no good

All the damage I have collected on my gear has been done by me usually doing something normal at the time, once I had a bass fall off the bed whilst I was trying to photograph it for insurance purposes!
-
Could be a duff jack socket too, if it does not contact fully it wont turn the pre amp on.
-
Them Jamerson lines are tough, thats before you worry about feel and dynamics etc!

Here is the game, I just got 1.18 'bass clef wizard' on my first go in ages but I have been doing a bit of reading fairly recently http://www.studybass.com/tools/bass-clef-notes/ I do have photo evidence of a 1.0 dead 'great wizard' though

Double check that 'new' battery too, sometimes they are flat before you even open the packet! Or sometimes I have left a bass plugged in and flattened it that way, not for many years now though.
Sounds like a deal to me, especially if they will let you store gear there as well. Had a similar deal with The Tardebigge out by Bromsgrove in the late 70s. I think they went off the idea when they realised we were a 'new wave rock n roll band' and not a covers band doing Tie a Yellow Ribbon They kept their side though, even though we rehearsed 3 times a week, I dont think we ever got round to doing the free gigs come to think of it.
I dont think any of us will be leaving gear there, maybe the kit if we practice on a thursday night before one of the free friday night gigs although if we did buy a medium sized pa between us the option of keeping it there might be worth looking at, the function room is upstairs and the people live on the floor above so its very secure. We could take all the leads and the mixer away then chain the cabs together by the handles which would stop anyone else using them and the chances of anyone carrying them down the stairs would be nil then too, Hhmmm food for thought

Get the Frodis bass clef app, it's really good! Check out the bass clef yts thread on here that crops up from time to time, it has some good links and advice, bass clef wizard game is fun but be warned its addictive!!!!! I'm a great wizard myself under 1 second per clip average, took me f***ing ages

I'm not sure a shuttle would do the job as well as a Streamliner? I prefer the shuttle but then I don't really like Ampegs! As for vintage basses, I'm sure they have something extra, sometimes for better, sometimes for worse. A 15lb Fender is no fun for a 2 hour wedding set for example! On the other hand I'm yet to try an EBMM Ray that's as good as my pre EB one
