1.
Going on a slight tangent here, I have a small kustom combo. I was wondering if I got another one, could I use them like studio monitors? I would have thought so, as they seem to power up the same way..
Would two sound twice as bad or just the same but more of it?
2. Why is this not in the millions, no one who owns a fretless bass should of gone without seeing it never mind the rest of us! Warning graphic Pino content http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1BkGCkwJCWE I dont really like PY but thats everything you ever need to learn in one song surely? Love it!
3. I dont understand why no one has them to try! What sort of money was that green one and have you seen the pre EB with dubious neck on eBay DrT?
4. I know, my Blue Ray 5 was bought on it. 9 months of easy 0% payments are easy to get past the missus.
5. Warwick castle, Shakespear etc its all very romantic and well worth a visit, especially the industrial estate where the Bard wrote much of his stuff
6.
Not that I've seen. If that Classic at BD was maple boarded I'd be v tempted.
No you wouldn't, It would not be there I have a potential new band depending on how the meeting on tuesday goes, If it works out all funds will be going on gear again, its been ages since I had anything new!
7. I have not got any kids! Thank god, can you imagine how much money they would all have on take it away schemes
8. I'm glad its not just me then If I had the funds I would take a Genz 9.2 MAX head and a Classic Ray 5 from Marks stock list right now, thats £2700 so I dont see why for most people where it would cost no more than £30-40 in fuel to get to a decent shop would buy without trying? Nowt as queer as folk as they say, I just hope someone buys either of the items above then hates them so I can buy them half price in the FS section on here
9. In the same way Jose is pleased he lives miles from me, its a good thing you are all the way up there! I have gas for a Big Al 5, a Classic Ray 5 and a Shuttle max 9.2 two of which I know you have Bass Direct has a nice Classic 5 on offer that I would take if I could get it past the other half but I cant get the figures to stack up right now Does anywhere have big Als on the hook to try?
10. I am trying to find a way of taking the Classic Ray 5 off him that he has on offer......take it away scheme is now only for up to 25 year olds
11. http://www.projectmusic.net/music-man-big-al-5-made-for-you-vintage-sunburst-9077-p.asp This with a RW board then?
12. I have been googling but cant find much, I just keep watching Ed Friedland's review which is not helping me much! Who stocks them, are there any in the UK what colour and pickup config would you look out for? I'm thinking totally different to my Rays so, SSS and rosewood board for starters anyway and I quite like the vintage burst against the ultra modern styling. Gassing for no reason at all
13. looking at mine the stripe might be just out of shot.....
14. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vintage-Original-1979-Music-Man-Sting-Ray-Electric-Bass-Black-Pre-Ernie-Ball-/300768621635?pt=UK_Musical_Instruments_Guitars_CV&hash=item460734f443 No fret markers obviously and the nut just looks all kinds of wrong to me? Is that an ebony board? has it got a skunk stripe, do the fretless ones have a skunk stripe? Hhhmm......
15. I still dont see why people begrudge spending a fraction of the cost of something to go and fetch it? Glasgow to Bassdirect in my wifes car would cost me £78 (I just google mapped it to check) If I was spending £1500-2000 (or £3500 on a bass as somone was the other day) I would just see it as an adventure, that £78 is going to look a bargain compared to what you are going to lose when it comes to selling the wrong amp after 6 months and doing the whole process all over again! That's worst case scenario, there must be somewhere nearer and a train may be even cheaper if you then had the stuff delivered to your home a few days later.
16.
No it isn't. It's a 24 bar phrase not 12.
Blimey Paul I have not seen you around for ages, are you well?
This made me chuckle. I have had smilar experiences at jam nights. I once dared deviate from a walking bass line in some nameless ancient 12 bar......... Sadly, my reaction got me barred from the establishment
My old regular jam night had a Clapton rip off guy who was very good but the chilling glares you would get should you decide to play it faster, funkier, slower or rockier than the live at somewhere or other DVD he had learnt it all from made it too much of a chore for me, the harp player stormed off the stage unplugging all his gear during the performance the last time he was there because this claptophile shook his head at him!
17. That line out might sound weird though.
18. Benton! Benton......oh Benton.
19. You would need some kind of line in or fx loop on the carlsbro which I presume it has not got? A lot of the line outs/ phones out on smaller amps are emulated rather than a proper signal, try listening with headphones I bet it sounds weird. If you put a bass through my Marshall guitar amp on the gain channel and wear phones it produces the exact Cliff Burton bass solo sound!
20. That's not helping my gas Gareth!
21. I'm gassing for a new 9.2 max head , I daren't even go to try one out!
22. Look at you pair with your P bass projects and matching EBMM sterlings, get a room
23. Yep just keep doing what are doing now sounds like you already have it nailed and plus one on not smiling even if you have flashing LEDs on your neck the blank expression must remain
