  1. I don't think that is true at all, I watched a programme where they went through all his guitars that are all stored in a big rack, they were all fairly normal looking.
  2. I'm prepared....... I think the main difference here compared to the explorer is that its fecking horrible! Lol
  3. I'd be amazed if this was true ^
  4. Ha I've got 14 more years of clanging and banging left then! :-)
  5. I can definitely be done, I just don't think I've got the desire to put the time in these days, lol.
  6. That's great news, I'm still looking after the fretted version I bought off you!
  7. Crikey has no one here been to an Irish music night? By the second set the band and the audience are so whizzed no one really knows what's happening, most of the audience end up playing something and possibly for the first time ever, lots of fun.
  8. I'm far too ham fisted, I think I've come to terms with that just being how it is now.
  9. That will be at 4 ohms so with a single 8 ohm cab you'll be around 300 watts.
  10. Ultimately how many guitars and basses does the world need? A mass produced product with an indefinite shelf life that doesn't really wear out was never going to be the best long term business model was it? As for the new EB I think it looks ok but nothing better than something for a couple of hundred quid from Ibanez or Yamaha etc.
  11. Their basses are much more popular though and they are making them well at the moment, I think most fender buyers are happy with the product without fender trying to innovate, same as Ric, the buyers just want a well made version of their tried and tested staple products.
  12. Sad as it is it wouldn't bother me if they stopped making basses, there's nothing that gives me gas in their range.
  13. I think it would be well worth a try, those Jazz fives have never been great for B strings, the 2012 onwards are much better.
  14. Typical bass player doing it up the corner, come on why not right by the front door near the till!
  15. That is a crazy cheap price! I have the earlier version, for anything less than a hundred quid more than the asking price here I would keep it as a coffee table!
  16. I've come to the conclusion that I don't like passive basses, I think it's partly the amp as what I like and use works with my active basses but not so much with passive ones.
  17. It certainly looks nicely made.
  18. Could you fill the locating holes with something like an epoxy then redrill them to suit a new full matching set? Looks like the new tuners would cover the filled area to me.
  19. Yes I've never understood the point in the numbers without a marker point. Literally pointless.
  20. That's it, awful 80s Reggae bass.
  21. Anyone got a Hohner BA2 or whatever they are called?
  22. That's all well and good but is it any good for metal?
  23. This thread needs the rock and roll story explaining how you broke them in the first place!
  24. People always knock PMT and guitar guitar etc for only stocking the boring stuff but they are the shops that are surviving aren't they? I wanted a burst and rosewood Fender Jazz a few years ago, I bought one from PMT and it's a great bass that gets regular gigs even though I could have chosen something more exotic. They stock what sells plus a few bits the distribution company have made them hang up gathering dust.
  25. There's a joke about "the one playing it when in use" but I'd never be so rude
