  1. My Reply would be "Pay the full asking price and collect it and you can use it as often you like."
  2. You've nailed the part most people miss, in an acoustic setting you could probably ditch all the amps if you set the speakers up slightly further back than you would a vocal only pa. That's tight stage area space saved and no need to upgrade for larger gigs where you can use on stage amps along with the 735s running harder. Buy cheap, buy twice.
  3. The 735 would nail it, a pair without subs will do a full rock band including bass and kick drum in a typical pub or function room.
  4. Just for balance, I wouldn't buy a 4 string again unless it was an upright, I'd never use it.
  5. I don't think it should be compulsory but those that don't add it need to be aware that they may get less interest in an item, every Modulus 5 that comes up has been somewhere outside of the uk and I've passed them by, I'm gas free but if one popped up near me I might be tempted for example.
  6. I don't think I bought anything other than strings last year and I've not got much planned for this one, I might even reduce some kit down!
  7. Only on the one hand.
  8. Sounds interesting, got a link?
  9. I can't see why you'd leave the rough location off the advert on a collection only item or one likely to receive requests for viewings, just extra messages to reply to.
  10. I'll have a listen to that on the pc tomorrow, thanks.
  11. The only thing to be aware of is that if you go to a normal DB you are unlikely to have strength in your pinky to 'stop' a note unless it had very low tension strings, it's easy to damage your hands on the DB.
  12. I'll sort a picture later.....
  13. I've no idea what I missed here!
  14. I decided to move when the site moved ☺
  15. You full of the joys of Christmas lefty? lol
  16. Oh come on, again but in Spanish please
  17. See, no past tense on 'estudiar' lol.
  18. Tu español parace bien, yo entiendo todo. Solo visitamos cada año un vez o dos, principalmente costa calida, me gusta españa y estudiar la lengua para dos o tres años, ¡mi español es fatal tambien!
  19. I would try and look at the left hand technique stuff and adopt the standard fingering method as early as possible, I now play elec bass with the DB finger spacing at times but that's easier than playing DB a 'finger per fret'. Geoff is a top fella both on here and in person.
  20. I know Bernie Goodfellow made a GB bass from various scraps of wood as a test bed for things and trying electronics out in etc, it was so good Mika's bass player had it painted and took it on tour on the proviso that Bernie had it back to destroy after so it never got refinished and ruined his reputation in years to come!
  21. Have you started on Geoff's discoverdoublebass youtube lessons yet?
  22. I didn't like the one I didn't buy but I'd have a a fair few thousand pounds in the bank off it now.
  23. It's never a simple as x is good y is bad is it? The RCF 15"s are excellent, there's no slowness in the 735 or 745 but they are £1000 each, plus you don't a sub so no matter how good or cheap the alto sub is it's an extra cost and storage/haulage. ¿puedes hablar español Tubster, donde en el Sur tú tocas con tu groupo?
  24. Good stuff, enjoy.
