  1. Not really, Fender and Squier are legally and financially linked, Limelight afaik have no legal right to use the Fender logo. *waits for discreet to tell me again that limelight have there own logo*, every limelight I've seen including Discreet's had a Fender logo.
  2. I sold a Squier with a fake logo on here a few years ago, should I hand myself in?
  3. I don't think BC need to change anything. The Limelight fad has mostly passed now anyway afaik?
  4. I still feel the distinction is that Limelight is a business albeit a small one.
  5. Would Limelight have been able to sell their basses for the same price without the copyrighted logo before they took off as the latest fad on here?
  6. Fender have been in massive debt for years.
  7. I've said this before and I still see it the same, an individual selling a one off self made bass with a logo is different to a business building copies including a well established copyrighted logo.
  8. Bit of sandpaper and a can of laquer, ten minutes max. Lol
  9. I can't see the Limelight fans being keen on the idea of banning fakes, lol.
  10. I actually think the stagg (and it's rebadged versions) are more like a real DB to play than the fancier ones.
  11. It's a shame that you've only just missed bonfire night, lol
  12. Is there a music shop nearby where they could point you in the right direction? I'd be happy to let you have a tinker with mine for an afternoon if you're ever up in the Midlands.
  13. I'm sure that all the big name session guys without writing credits have bigger houses than mine.
  14. The problem with a desk like this is that it only has a single monitor mix available so you'll need something of your own on stage anyway, it's not going to do a great bass mix without some kind of sansamp in front of it either depending on what you want, I don't mind a totally unprocessed bass live tbh.
  15. There are plenty of successful originals band I wouldn't go and see in favour of some decent local covers bands
  16. I think it's quite sad that a fellow musician feels this way. There must be some brilliant songs tucked away on home studio computers.
  17. There's nothing better than the audience shouting out for a song that you wrote it co wrote, I've only had a few years out of twenty odd gigging where I was in that position.
  18. Rich who used to frequent this forum had his "Pingray", they do look cool. I'd still like a white Stingray at some point.
  19. Yeah I just found that on wiki too. Cool basses
  20. No extra fret marker either, must be one of the very very last to be built before the new features were added.
  21. That is an interesting bass isn't it, what was the exact takeover date? I personally would call that a Pre EB as its made from entirely pre EB parts by the same people in the same factory no doubt, I'd class anything with a contour body as EB. I had a 79 three bolt and the neck did move a bit but the 82 with the four bolt was perfect.
