  1. I'm sure that all the big name session guys without writing credits have bigger houses than mine.
  2. The problem with a desk like this is that it only has a single monitor mix available so you'll need something of your own on stage anyway, it's not going to do a great bass mix without some kind of sansamp in front of it either depending on what you want, I don't mind a totally unprocessed bass live tbh.
  3. There are plenty of successful originals band I wouldn't go and see in favour of some decent local covers bands
  4. I think it's quite sad that a fellow musician feels this way. There must be some brilliant songs tucked away on home studio computers.
  5. There's nothing better than the audience shouting out for a song that you wrote it co wrote, I've only had a few years out of twenty odd gigging where I was in that position.
  6. Rich who used to frequent this forum had his "Pingray", they do look cool. I'd still like a white Stingray at some point.
  7. Yeah I just found that on wiki too. Cool basses
  8. No extra fret marker either, must be one of the very very last to be built before the new features were added.
  9. That is an interesting bass isn't it, what was the exact takeover date? I personally would call that a Pre EB as its made from entirely pre EB parts by the same people in the same factory no doubt, I'd class anything with a contour body as EB. I had a 79 three bolt and the neck did move a bit but the 82 with the four bolt was perfect.
  10. I've got an OLP guitar, it's really nice. The olp Ray isn't actually the same shape as a Stingray if you overlay them.
  11. They are both pre EB, the very first EB Stingray from the take over had a chamfuered body with a belly cut and forearm contour, I think they were all red too but I might be wrong on that? The last pre EB ones have bodies made by charvel as Leo wasn't happy with the quality, I'd be almost certain it's one of those too. I like them both
  12. Adam tried to impress Eve by 'doing a Jaco' but she said it was aimless noodling.
  13. Good luck with it, Life's too short to fall out.
  14. I don't think anyone said it can't be?
  15. I don't see how that's going against what I said? Is it not easier to play to a larger more appreciative audience playing at "the bar band level" than trying to play originals where you live? It certainly is in the uk especially if you don't live near a large town or city.
  16. A good originals gig is the ultimate really but it's easier to get an appreciative audience playing covers especially for payment.
  17. Looks a steal, I wish I could justify one.
  18. I think you got the better deal not getting them!
  19. Are they USA built? I like it.
  20. Looks in great nick, D and G strings have never been touched
  21. I'd hunt down an 88 SR5 myself, ticks all the boxes then. An 88 will have a proper Alnico pickup like a regular ray unlike the later ones with the ceramic one like a Sterling.
  22. What about two different sized cabs, one on it's side with a bigger one on top over hanging that and a head perched on top wider than that one, one tolex cab, one black cab, one silver cloth and one black cloth and none of the badges the right way up?
  23. First rule of Barefaced club, "thou shall not use a head that duth not overhang the cab" broken!
