  1. Just had a look and it appears they are, maybe he's the right guy after all! Mind you they are still in debt so maybe not. It's all a corporate nonsense anyway imo.
  2. Possibly a blessing in disguise but still sad, still bringing joy to lots of people though
  3. I'm not on there but I'd imagine there's a 'message read' notification? so the sender would know it had been read.
  4. If BigRedX finds out Fender is now run by ex chairman of Disney Consumer Products he's gonna have a field day! With all the top brass in the world they've hired one sacked two years ago, I don't suppose you get the pick of the crop if you're millions in debt?
  5. Snow patrol, cold play and a whole host of other dreary bands do alright.
  6. There's nothing to say they can't be good bass lines written by the guitarist and taught to the bassist though is there?
  7. There's always going to be players that are not as experienced that need guiding along (see the River boat song fingering thread ) , for someone that can play but not really write their own parts they might gel, the band might sound worse but that's another matter.
  8. I must admit it would annoy me a bit too, just a "I'm really busy but I'll get back to you asap thanks", if something life and death is going on what you doing messing around on Facebook? That said I wouldn't have sent a sarky message, just a "sorry position now filled" once you'd had your think about it and messaged back.
  9. I suppose it will be interesting to see how it pans out now, is the new guy a bass chatter?!
  10. Have they got someone lined up for the live shows already? I see you were meant to be doing the yellow bus gig in a couple of weeks.
  11. Wireless is ok but you need good clean air or the heft and smothness gets blocked, Ace of Spades with a room full of smoke from grilling bacon sounds brilliant though!
  12. I know it's tongue in cheek but that's still not adding anything. What would you know about cables anyway? My OBBM Speakon is still going strong after about 8 years
  13. As I've said before the cables can't 'add' anything, there's no debate/discussion to be had, if the silver cables make it sound smoother then they are removing something.
  14. Maybe Bonio has used his tax dodging skills to help keep Fender going whilst still in massive debt?
  15. There's quite a few of us here with the Yita carbon bows off eBay, I've heard much better players than myself use them including mine and they made them sound great!
  16. I'm not sure I'd delete my bass tracks, as long as you get the credit does it matter?
  17. Certainly different from your normal pub band! I'll let you know what they are like.
  18. Yeah great era and some cool bands with that sound. We're off to see The Soap Girls this weekend which could be interesting, definitely a touch of Hole about them.
  19. Oh no you used "ohms" instead of Hz, TimR will be all over you, lol.
  20. A clean earth is used to protect devices from noise from things like motors from fridges and vacuum cleaners, it will also protect the equipment from a surge on the earth during fault conditions from another item fed from the same distribution board..... But... They are almost always wired wrongly, you need a clean earth socket outlet that separates the earth to the pin of the sensitive kit from the socket pins and general earth in the building, a single cable should come from the fuseboard to the socket and the earth used for the kit, the other earth run along just connects the pins and back box etc straight back to the fuseboard. If you have a standard socket it isn't doing anything no matter what your ears say. In a domestic setting with one fridge and one freezer I'd wager no difference in the audio system, as for 6mm over 2.5mm cable that's 100% nonsense. Btw I'm a an electrician that wires these systems regularly, I've just finished two state of the art IT rooms at a school last week, they have dispensed with the clean earths other than to the network hubs, and the hubs feeding 70 stations are wired in 2.5mm with a 6mm clean earth, to a normal pointless socket outlet
