1. I wouldn't limit myself beyond my own lack of ability, having an extra string and being able to slap are just two more strings to your bow imo.
2. I think it depends what you call "main stream" then, I'd class it as modern stuff on the radio.
3. Being run for "various charities" means it's impossible to view the registered charity that would normally be heading it up to help decide if it's something I'd support. Many charities use something like "75% of the profit goes to the chosen charity guaranteed", so after they've paid themselves handsomely and paid their buddies over the odds for all the services required the organisers still feel the need to dip their fingers in the pot and take another 25% just for shits and giggles.
4. We get paid a fair amount at local beer festival gigs behind a normal pub in the car park type affairs where it's free for the public to get in and there's a fraction of the potential audience numbers that this 'charity' event will have at it charging £30 a ticket. Total piss take.
5. What sort of merch do covers bands sell?
6. +1 for only needing the main bracket, the small one is to replicate the upper bout for playing Arco beyond the neck joint, I'm told its in the wrong place anyway!
7. I'm not sure a bunch of old guys slapping in the tickled trout makes it "mainstream"?
8. Well we have got through it in F without the dots, I will use them to fine tune my version, now what we did find is that bit in the middle is a sort of not in the same key so that might be the route of the discussion regarding the accidentals? I'll have a look when I get time. Is there a version in F on here?
9. I heard that Malcolm young wrote all the guitar parts and Angus learnt them from him and added the theatrics?
10. Just looked at my message, he says F? Got practice with him tonight so I'll see.
11. Just need to get my reading brain into gear then drop it all a tone now.......
12. I ended up having it took out a couple of years after as it was thought to be the source of my restricted movement, unfortunately it wasn't so it's still fecked. Almost everyone that has this injury gets carpal tunnel after, as do double bass players and anyone that uses power tools at work or as a hobby, I do all of them
13. https://flic.kr/p/Xb5LGE My wrist/hand is fecked, I wouldn't wish it on anyone, can't you dep out or as suggested share this one? Maybe a basschat collective effort?!
14.
Is your computer plugged into a wall socket and switched on..? Is the keyboard plugged in and working correctly..? Do you use a mouse; if so, is it working correctly..? Have you tried switching it off, then switching it on again..? ... or (on a PC...) ... Right-click on the document link Select 'Save linked content as...' Save to local disk, using one of the names suggested, as a 'pdf' file. Failing any of the above, take up knitting, and ask on Mumsnet if anyone has the pattern for [insert favourite cardigan here...] Hope this helps.
I can change a Morris minor head gasket with my eyes closed, computer stuff well that's a different matter!
15. Ah got it to open on my phone, thanks Douglas. Singer wants it in a different Key so that's my homework! Ta
16.
That guy seemed pretty much harmless. Seemed like he was actually trying to be decent. Lol Blue
One of my bands has developed a small following when we play certain venues, which is really nice, one guy comes and stands/dances right up the front all night so I presumed he was both enjoying himself and probably checking out our attractive young lady singer at the same time, after the third gig I realised he was checking me out, I am a bit slow sometimes like that He bought me a drink after the gig last time, nice bloke but not my type what with the penis and what not.
17. As the title, I can busk it but I need some reading practice anyway, two birds and one stone etc Thanks
18.
Currently I play pretty much exclusively what would be considered to be 'music pubs', where punters come to see the band. I can't think of a recent gig where the band was ignored by any significant section of the audience and there is never any trouble, even (especially) in the biker bars where there could be potential for violence if anyone was foolhardy enough to cause any problems.
Same here, I wouldn't stay in a band that played those venues if they were being ignored, crap band or crap venue choice I'd say.
19. I've actually got an album credit for a slap part I was specifically asked to play in the studio after dropping it in at the rehearsal for live shows.
