1.
I play in a 9 piece function band, with a soundie and a good PA. The whole kit is mic'd. I think it's usually total overkill! When we rehearse, we use an active wedge for vocals, nothing else mic'd up. Always sounds great, always feels good. Why not this way in a pub?! My thinking is, I'm there to provide entertainment, to enhance a punters night. Not hold them in place with decibels/deafen them! It's not all about the band! I think if more people subscribed to a more modest volume approach, more people would enjoy the music (and form nicer memories chatting with their friends etc) and maybe there would be more gigs for us lot to play!!!
Just like putting bass and guitars into the FOH a micd kit played well can/should result in LOWER volume in a small pub.
 2. It doesn't matter as long as the right player gets the gig (or lack of),those gigs might be just right for a player that wants the same as the people advertising the position.
 3.
The modules in pretty much all these amps are much of a muchness, just with tweaks here and there. I realised I didn't like the core behaviour, so I bailed on them a while ago.
Really? You've not mentioned it
 4. Ah even with my lack of football knowledge I got that one
 5. Have you seen those Scottish ones with the ginger hair sewn in like Russ Abbott wore?
 6.
And why would you be? You're not bald.
He might be doing an "The Edge"?
 7.
Xmas is tacky and crap imo
8.
Interesting idea. Would they def take the ones back that I didn't wanna keep?
Yep, distance selling laws.
 9. What about ordering some from Thomann and sending back the ones you don't like?
 10. Get to a decent shop and try everything especially stuff you think might be unsuitable, something might just jump out at you.
 11.
I wore a Fedora in bands when I was 25 . Alright, NOW I am middle aged . But I no longer care what anyone on a forum thinks. Now, get off my lawn or fire the drummer. Damn kids.
Swap the fedora for a fodera to be even more uncool!
 12. Not exactly family friendly all gathered around a laptop either is it?
 13.
It's funny how we still post times and days when TV programmes are being broadcast when any sensible person will watch it at their leisure on whatever catch-up service is streaming it.
I don't stream anything but I do record things to a free view recorder, for that I'd need the times it's on so thanks for the heads up to those that post channels and times. Not everyone is tech savvy nor do they want to be
 14.
What if it's an electric double bass? Can I get away without the hat?
I've come to the conclusion that it depends if you've got an acoustic double bass too then the hat is compulsory, if not then it's optional
 15. If you play double bass it's compulsory to wear a hat!
 16. If the buyer is a regular poster with a feedback I might hang on a little while especially if it's an easy to sell item should they never come back, if it was their first post I'd sell it to someone else in a flash.
 17. Paul- "bloody 'ell Linda I thought them fiddle basses played like dog sh*t but this even is worse, 'ere you try it".
 18.
+1. Raised them as a band and they were never as good after she left IMHO. Grey Will Fade, her first solo album, is great.
Yeah I love that album, I think we have the only copies of it!
 19. Charlotte Hatherly from Ash plays some nice lead breaks live and she generally raised them as a band musically when she joined them. Good bassist too. Now plays lead for KT Tunstall, who I also like as a guitarist.
 20. A mate once had a 13.5lb 70s Jazz, awful. One of my Stingray fives is over 11lb.
 21.
What's going on with the neck and headstock?
That's birdseye, maple goes up in grades A AA AAA etc the highest grade contains the birdseye marking and is awesome! Looks proper funky
 22.
There are a few 'home conversions' into fivers out there, too. Can't comment on quality or playability though.
I could have a good guess
