1. I waved a damp looking download off from the plane if that counts? Great view from above depending which way your flight goes
2.
So it's ok to be sh1te then?
It hasn't held back lots of performers over the decades, people fall over themselves for Dylan mentioned earlier, I'd honestly rather listen to the Ariana Grande album over anything he's recorded and I'm not a fan of her stuff at all. People hear different things clearly so the best thing to do is just not listen to anything you don't like
3. I actually thought her vocals were ok especially under hugely emotional circumstances.
4.
Judy Garland will be spinning in her grave.
Or applauding her for putting on a gig within two weeks of loads of people dying after coming to one of her gigs? I know the term literally is overused these days and ironically by the typical audience members at her gigs but some of the people there literally hadn't smiled or laughed since the attack until last night, I've got to give her some respect for that alone.
5. I've no idea what that was but it sounded great! Anyone?
6. I wouldn't bother with their active versions, A- it sounds like you want passive deep down? B- their active circuit is rubbish! I went for a USA standard over a Deluxe even after the boss gave me permission to spend a lot more, I have since added an Aguilar preamp to it as I don't really get on with passive basses, it is a great bass, find a post 2012 used USA Jazz and you have a proper bass for life regardless of what the nay sayers tell you, no matter how fancy the others are they are still fake knock off copies
7.
I think he was just after a Musicman style bass without a load of deadspots on the neck.
Ironic that he now plays a Fender then
8.
I thought Imogen Heap was amazing! No she's not the best singer in the world, but amazing songs, amazing feel, beautiful delivery. Yeah Eric Ingram is a bit of a good player! Helps to have Aaron Spears on drums too! Si
It just shows how different we all are doesn't it? I saw this part as it was before the TT coverage started, me and my wife were just looking at each other like wtf! Bit like those awkward moments where a friend performs something at a wedding, lol, awful in every way for me.
9. That's him and he was there for the Manchester attack. Nice player, some people say religion has bought nothing useful to modern society, well gospel has given us some tasty players!
10. Yeah I'm trying to find out who he is, more unplayable Fender junk eh? tis all in them fingers
11. I went to an Eagles tribute gig a couple of weeks ago, there was a guy there trying to shake hands with the three guys at the front, as they were playing their guitars! I'd guess he'd been at the old columbian marching powder.
12. He wanted a Modulus neck on it afaik, purely because they were gigging in various climates night after night where no wooden necked bass could stay stable, it's a shame they couldn't come together to supply that to him and as a signature model, contrary to popular internet nonsense about him only using a Ray around the BSSM era and that only for live gigs he used them from day one, Pre EB Ray, Transition era Rays and later EBMM ones, the cartoon image on the first 1984 RHCP album cover shows a 3+1 Stingray headstock, live he used a carbon necked bass so he has history with a carbon necked Ray from before Ernie Ball even bought them out!
13.
Did they not bring out a few different models ? MM, Jazz, etc ?
Only for the man himself, everyone else got the replica of the bass he used 10 years ago, Fender with their finger on the pulse as ever!
14.
Is there anyone here playing stadium size gigs? Not as a support band.
Where is JTUK these days?
15. I never thought of that but that's a good idea and probably the cheapest option in an odd way, you could sell the P-Jazz or part it out.
16. I'd go with blocking the sound hole too, trying to fight the feedback on my upright was a thankless task and I've fitted a mag pickup in the end! I've got an Ozark acoustic bass, it sounds really nice but it's impossible to amplify.
17. Could you just pick up a second hand jazz neck from somewhere?
18. I thought they were just built from off the shelf parts, mighty mite and allparts etc?
19. 1200 wet and dry used dry is the way to do it.
20.
I played a Stingray in a shop where the EQ wasn't working but it sounded great flat. Then I checked and there was no battery - so it CAN can work without.
I've never seen one yet, I don't know if there is any signal at all making it possible to crank the amp up lots to get a sound.
21.
I always find the Musicman necks are better for my taste. There is more than just the pick up and EQ to a Musicman - the whole package contributes to the sound - not least the bridge.
I don't think any of mine are particularly better, they've all been quite different regardless of what people would presume regarding stingrays, glossy pre EB ones, 70's one had quite a round shape and my 82 was really thin and flat, oiled 4 strings, oiled five string and the Classic 5 with the vintage tint birdseye with the slightly different profile to my other fives, they're all playable to me, the jazz is totally different and my only rosewood boarded bass and I like that too. As for bridges making a big difference is that the four or five string, with mutes, without mutes, strung thru or normal top loaded, hollow saddles or solid? I like the Flea sparkle finish, the jazz neck profile and the body shape, pop in a humbucker and I can't see what I'd dislike about it
22. That's Photoshop'd or he's lying on the floor!
23. Well I like the proportions and neck on my USA jazz five and I like the pickup position and preamp of a Stingray five, put the two together and hey presto!
