1. 20 knobs and 8 buttons, footswitch controller, para mids for low and high mid on both channels, there's fx loops for each channel and a global loop on the back along with a good switchable DI output, tuner send etc etc etc on the rear panel.
2. Here's my collection
3. Yes it's in two halves with full controls for each channel then it also has a global output with low, mid and hi plus preshapes, knobs galore!
4. Cripes chief!
5. I've always struggled with the both pickups on with a jazz bass, I've put an active circuit in mine too.
6. BB Kind typo if your reading this Mr swift
7. I wonder who's got the heaviest jazz bass, I've played a 15lb one once!
8. Nah get a Stingray like were thinking in the first place
9. I think it's over the hill and stuffy enough to be perfect for a bit of stereotypical prog, I'd imagine must younger people would almost expect it to be on there.
10. No they don't but you can do what I did by getting a Shuttlemax 9.2 which is a twin channel head, one FET and one tube, basically a 900 watt version of the shuttle 3.0. I've got a 3.0 a 6.0 and the 9.2 Max, I think the 3.0 sounds the best! Tubes and heft?, meh
11. I think any Wal would do the same thing though? I'm not sure I'd pay any extra for it as he's not seen playing it much although that hasn't stopped Fender releasing the stack knob that he hasn't played for ages as his sig model. I'd probably buy a five string version of the FendeRay he currently plays live if they released that.
12. Excellent, enjoy
13. As a serial British Leyland botherer I have to combine imperial, metric whitworth, unf & unc etc and all on one car! Good old British engineering
14.
I live round the corner from the Acorn/Church Tavern...new paint job, new chairs, new name...same old people. The one local place I won't set foot in
I suspected that might be the case, do they still have bands?
15.
Yes - I used to play there about 15 years ago. We didn't get paid much, and had to buy our own soft drinks. It was nearly always empty, apart from a few drunks. The ceiling on stage was lower than the height of my double bass... The bouncer was a moron. We would go outside between sets to get some air, informing him on our way out who we were and what we were doing. But nevertheless, upon returning, he would never let us back in!
He'd heard your first set
16.
There's only a few instruments that I would have a big interest in their auction price... And thats - Brian May's original Red Special Macca's Hofner (both current and the original stolen one (although this one has significantly less history)) Macca's LH '59 LP Anybody want to add any extras to the list...?
Not on the same league but I wouldn't mind Tim Commerford's Stingray bitsa with the badass bridge, an iconic sound from an iconic album.
17. Ha, I still can't handle imperial measurements even after years of old car tinkering!
18. I'd probably get away with a Dan Armstrong plexiglass as long as the lighting wasn't too bright
19. http://www.birminghammail.co.uk/news/midlands-news/pub-loses-licence-over-fights-11855564 Found this about The Acorn, it's now called the church tavern I'd imagine its still a dump?
20. I hold down first fret with one hand and 15th fret with my thumb on my other and leave just enough relief at the twelfth fret to be able to make the string ring out with a tap of the string with my first finger, once set I adjust the string height to a 2.5mm Allen key thickness between the 12th fret and the underside of each string.
21.
I hope Andy wore his jaunty hat
Brilliant!
22.
cheeky! more fine tuner (honest!)
23. Ha, all the strip lights turned on as you played whilst the police walked around to see which 'regulars' were in was always fun, I heard a band stopped once during the police check and all hell let loose? Ahhh Erdington
24.
How did you ever fit in there? I've played trad Irish nights there. It's quite an experience
It was The Acorn, oak trees and acorns must have been my confusion! Total sh*t hole.
25.
How did you ever fit in there? I've played trad Irish nights there. It's quite an experience
Maybe not the Royal Oak then? Quite a big place with the toilets entirely clad in chequer plate metal for easy blood swilling! I'm trying to find it on the map but I think it might have gone, it was in the centre in a typical 60s building?
