2. Yes, I have to agree Would possibly consider a trade for a Radial Bigshot I/o instrument selector
3. If anyone wants me to pick up from Guildford rather than pay the extortionate postage fees, I'm happy to do it for £175
4. For sale is a wonderful Protec Contego semi-rigid gig bag. I personally believe you don't get better than these bags. This one is in super condition apart from a tiny pin-prick hole in the top pocket. Other than that, it's superb. This can be picked up from either Woking at weekends or Bristol during the week. I'm looking for £55
5. I had the pleasure of meeting Col today after many years of PM's and a few deals along the way. What a thoroughly nice guy. Well worth the wait Highly recommended and one of the good guys
6. For sale is a beautiful Gibson J45 Standard Acoustic Guitar and Gibson hardcase. The guitar has been used frequently and there are several marks on it (lacquer only and not through the finish at all) and the case is marked too. That said, it's been well-looked after, never abused and put to bed in its case every night. The battery pack for the stock-fitted pickup is loose in the body too, but can be easily reattached - a very common problem with Gibsons apparently as they don't "hoover" inside their guitars once they've been put together! The sunburst finish is absolutely incredible. It also comes with a quality leather GIbson strap, a lovely Ritter Gigbag (25mm padding all round) and 3 unused sets of Martin 11's. The action is lovely and low and the guitar plays and sounds wonderful. I'm looking for £1,050- no trades please I'll put pics up ASAP.
7. Thanks The EUB is one of the NS WAV's. It's a few years old and a bit battle scarred (no thing too serious) but plays and sounds ace
8. Not done one of these for a while and as usual, it's all-change apart from my trusty old P bass I took the most of the decent weekend weather (and being home) to get everything together in one place. Missing is a Markbass 151P combo that is sold pending and an Aguilar EX112 cab that I use for smaller gigs (also for sale). My litte friend, a Gibson J45 is also missing but as it's a guitar, I don't think anyone will particularly mind! I won't pretend for one minute that I'll keep everything (apart from my P Bass). The Ric is very probably a keeper too, but the wind could change tomorrow and so may my decision
9. Try Rickysounds Karl. A bit more expensive, but UK based and IMHO a better solution to the Pickguardian
10. I'm considering fitting a preamp to my Jazz bass to add a bit more variation in sound. I've tried the J Retro in the past and as good as it was, I found it a bit too much with the tone options available (basically I kept tinkering!) I'm also really keen on a preamp that's a retro fit (no need for battery compartments etc) and has a proper passive option with a tone pot that works in passive too. Any ideas?
11. I've been to Bass centre recently. Although predominantly Mail Order, Barry was more than willing to let me try some stock out and even gave me a set of Detroit Flats. Great guy and a bit of an institution on the music retail scene I'd suggest calling him and if you decide to visit, drop me a PM as I live about 10 minutes away. I'll put the kettle on
12.
Nothing gets past you. Hey Old Horse Murphy. I'm adding this Gibson to the family. A name may be a change though.
Good stuff
13. I've grown to love Gibson basses recently after having bought a Gibson Midtown Bass and a J45 acoustic guitar. What will you be replacing with the SG? You seem to stay with 3 basses so I wonder what's about to leave the stable
14. It was one of the wooden/tolex cases fender used on early 2014 basses after falling out with SKB. I found it heavy and cumbersome so I sold it
