1. Just found a power supply for this too which I'll include in the sale
2. My 1989 Trigger's Broom P Bass is the only bass I will never part with. It started life as a bog standard Fender USA P Bass that I bought from Don Mackrill's music shop in Edgware with some money I got from a summer job and a bit my parents gave me after my GCSE's. My Grandad took me to look at the shop but I was £50 short of the asking price. Fortunately for me, my Grandad made the difference up and I walked out with it Over the years it's had a change of pickup to a 62 Reissue, along with a 62 reissue pickguard (it was also fitted at one stage with a P Retro, hence the extra hole by the tone knob). It has also had a new high mass bridge fitted and a few years ago I had to replace the neck as the original was unplayable due to becoming more and more banana-like. I bought and fitted a new series Fender US neck around 2007/8 and it's a wonderful thing. At various stages with the waxing and waning of the fashion Moon it's had a Badass on it and also been fitted with pretty-much every colour pickguard imaginable! About 5 years ago, I asked Martin Sims to fitted side LED's after a run of gigs where I couldn't see a thing due to dark stages etc. They work a treat but are very expensive. As I said, it's a real Trigger's Broom and probably not worth a great deal to anyone but me. It's had a pretty interesting life so far and has shared stages with Ruby Turner, Beverley Knight and Alvin Stardust, along with the countless bands I've been in over the years. I know every ding and dent on it and love it all the more for it. Whenever I get a new bass, the P Bass takes a back seat until I come to my senses and realise it's still my number 1. I played it yesterday while trying to learn a few new songs and have fallen in love with it all over again
3.
Have a nice bass bump
Thanks Ray
4. For sale is a recently acquired EBS Microbass II preamp/DI 2 channel pedal in super condition apart from one small chip on the front (pictured). These pedals are super, but unfortunately what I needed it for hasn't come about yet It can be used as a preamp, DI, instrument switcher, blender etc and costs over £265 new. It also has a built-in effects loop and can be used as a headphone amp that you can connect a CD player to for rehearsing. Here's a link to the EBS website with more info on what it does: http://www.bass.se/2009/microbassII.htm It comes in my very tatty box (structurally fine but grubby) and has all the instructions etc with it. Yours for £180 including fully insured postage.
5.
Ah, there's an input on the back - lovely stuff. My rack wireless is the first part of my chain out to my pedal tuner, so I'd to think I could go from the back of my wireless into the back of the Korg and then out the back of that to my board, keeping the front of the rack cable free?
Unfortunately you're asking totally the wrong person I don't use pedals etc and am generally a "lead straight in to the amp" kind of guy! It's a great bit of kit though
6.
I love the looks of the PitchBlack Pro. How's it working out for you? Definitely want to add one to my rack, even if I am a little unsure about how to connect it up to my signal chain!
Still early days but it seems to be a great bit of kit and very easy to use. I've got it plugged in to the Tuner Out socket on the back of my amp in to the input socket on the back of the Tuner. It seems to work fine
7. I was fortunate enough to be given one of the new Korg rack tuners, so have racked it up with my GB Shuttlemax 12. Here they both are on top of my Bergantino CN212. It's a great setup, but the jury's out as to whether it's better (to my ears) than my old GB Shuttle 6.0 and a pair of Aguilar DB112's I had a few years ago.
8. I hope this helps. I use mine for both my P Basses (including my TF) but have a single one too which I'm currently using.
9.
Deja Vu Nick I've still got mine/your (other) old one GLWTS Cheerz, John
Thanks John It was a trade too far perhaps. I didn't really need it but as Clarky showed interest in my Jazz I thought it was worth a punt Hope you're well
10. Thanks for the comments and the offers of trades. Unfortunately I'm only looking for a sale this time
11. As requested. This is with the modern Fender 4 saddle high mass bridge fitted, not the original 2 saddle bridge. Both come with the bass though
12.
I recently traded this with Nick (my damaged left hand needed a slimmer Jazz type neck profile). It is a stunner and looks like it left the factory last week, not nearly 20 years ago, and has superb upgrades (with original bridge and pickup should you wish to restore to stock). Highly recommended
Thanks mate
13. For sale is a superb Mono M80 2B bass gigbag in black. It's in equally superb condition and hasn't had too hard a life by any means! It's in the back finish and is a superb piece of kit for carrying 2 basses around in complete security. I'll try and put some pics up but it really is in super condition. These are currently selling for £199 plus £10 postage. I'm looking for £165 picked up or meet locally. It really is in super condition. Here's a link to a super review of these cases: http://bassmusicianmagazine.com/2009/10/gear-impressions-and-luthier-spotlight-with-jake-wolf-mono-cases/ Please ignore the guitars in the picture below
14. For sale is a recently acquired 1994 Fender Japan 51 Reissue P Bass in stunning condition. It has been retro-fitted with a superb Seymour Duncan SCPB-3 pickup and a Fender high mass bridge, but the original pickup and bridge are also included. It's also been fitted with a new pair of TI flats, so plays and sounds wonderful. Weight-wise it's around 9lbs and is in super condition. It has had the Period-correct Fender Ashtrays fitted. I got this to fulfil my Dusty Hill fantasies but after playing my old P Bass, so this won't get much of a look in I'm looking for £540. Unfortunately it doesn't have a gigbag or case, but I do have a proper guitar box to ship it in. However, this time of year with post being particularly busy, I'd rather this was picked up or a meet half-way was arranged. The pics are from original ad, so I hope the author doesn't mind
15. Thanks guys. You're absolutely right about these pedals. I'm actually going back to rack mounting my amp and have ordered one of the new Korg a Rack tuners to go with it. If I wasn't going for a rack set up I'd definitely keep this
16. The 2010 P Bass Deluxes with the Jazz pickup by the bridge did have shielding issues. Well, they had no shielding whatsoever! Fender had them returned back in swathes to resolve the issue. I had one for a short while and whilst the buzzing wasn't too bad, I coated the cavity with some shielding paint and then lined on top of the paint with copper tape (also on the back of the pickguard to completely seal the electrics). Although it took a bit of effort, it completely sorted any noise issues and made a super bass even more playable. I should hope that later models are leaving the factory with this issue resolved now, but if not, it's a simple fix so I wouldn't lose sleep over it
17. I just traded basses with Clarky (again) and must be close to beating the Clarky/Beedster record by now. As usual a completely hassle-free and super trade with one of Basschat's gentlemen. Highly recommended as ever. I'm trying to persuade him to offer Nectar points with every transaction. It would certainly make it easier to explain to my wife
18.
there is something truly beautiful about an unlined board especially one in dark ebony
+1
19. For sale is a Korg Pitchblack tuner in excellent condition. It has been gigged and there is some Velcro attached to the bottom that would be easily removable, but it is in excellent shape. Unfortunately there isn't a box for it but it will be very well packed. **EDIT**- I've just found a power supply for this pedal so will include that in the sale too. Yours for £35 inc p&p
