Bought a Mono case from Simon and sold him a Cab at the same time! Thoroughly nice guy and a great guy to deal with

I've generally used Markbass heads with the Schroeder cab, but have used a Genz Benz and an Epifani too on occasion. All sounded great but I preferred the Markbass. It's all pretty subjective though I guess

Peavey T40 Truss Rod Tool size
Old Horse Murphy replied to Old Horse Murphy's topic in Repairs and Technical
Thank you both. I'll nip down to Halfords and have a look. If not, I'll check out Stewmac's The bass is needing a bit of TLC and needs a good clean (along with the case!) I'm sure the strings actually pre-date the actual bass -
Hi guys I've just picked up a Peavey T40 in a trade and it appears to be a very nice bass indeed. The action is a little high and I was wondering what size trussrod tool I will need. I've read that a Les Paul tool will work (5/16) but can't find that size available in the UK. A quick search on Ebay results in Gibson trussrod tools of anything between 6 and 8.5mm! I'm guessing I would need an 8mm but wanted to check first. Thanks for your help

Speaking as a Clarinetist/Saxophonist (please don't tell anyone!) I don't think you can go wrong with either a Yamaha (my preference), B&H or Buffet to start with. In fact, Yamahas are used by some of the very best pro players out there. Kids can be funny about secondhand instruments, but if you can I'd try to get a wooden Clarinet. The sound is a lot warmer and fuller and it would be an instrument that you can grow with. Beginner instruments are exactly that; beginner instruments. When you develop your embrochure and own sound, you really need to move to a better quality instrument. That said, the Yammy's are very good quality. As mentioned above, it's important to get the right mouthpiece too as it will make a world of difference. Beginners mouthpieces have a large bore which is easier to blow and play louder, but they do sound very honky after a while! If I can help any more, please don't hesitate to ask.

I'm having a clear out of the bass cupboard and am putting a few bits up for sale to make some room ** First up is a Tapco DB1-P DI box for guitar and bass. This is unused but the box is a wee bit battered. It's a great bit of kit to have in the gigbag. Currently selling in GAK for £32 plus £5 p&p. Mine is for sale for £25 inc Here's some more on the specs: Use the TAPCO DB-1B passive DI box to connect your guitar or bass directly to your mixer - without losing tone due to impedance mismatches, low levels, and 60-cycle hum. Thru/Out jack lets you send a clean signal to a mixer, plus an onstage amplifier, for greater control during live performance. Available in passive and active models. TAPCO DB-1B Passive Direct Injection Box Features: High-performance Direct Injection box with mackie-designed circuitry 1/4" input and thru connections with ground lift Rugged metal chassis with rubber sides for extra durability Convenient stackable design ----- ** Next is a brand new and unused Glockenklang 70cm Speakon to Speakon cable built to the standard you would expect of a Glockenklang! For sale in Thomann for £29 inc delivery. Mine is for sale at £15 inc. http://www.thomann.de/gb/glockenklang_boxenkabel_70_cm.htm ----- ** Korg GA-30 tuner for bass and guitar. battery operated and good for 6 string basses. Super condition but the box is battered. £3.50 plus £2 p&p ----- ** long heavy duty black leather strap. This is a bit of a beast. It is 48-58" in length and just under 3" wide. It has been used and shows signs of wear but it is virtually indestructible and was made for me by a Saddler to the Queen nonetheless. It also has an embossed scorpion on one end but I have no idea why! It cost me £55 and has served me well but is a bit too long for me now. You'll never need another strap! For sale at £15 plus £2.50 p&p ----- Thanks for looking
