1. I'm probably not going to help Chris I much prefer the stack knob setup to the VVT as it offers a fair amount more flexibility in terms of mix etc. combined with the Wizards the bass sounds great
2. For sale are a couple of straps that are surplus to requirements. One is a brand new unused Fender leather strap (backed with webbing) and the other is a brown leather strap with a Celtic dog motif. Both straps are 2" wide (forgot to mention this in my original ad). Both are in super condition and have never been gigged. £15 each plus £2 p&p
3. Here's a pair of matching P basses I my possession. The one on the left is a Mongrel US p Bass (1987 body, 2008 neck and various bits in between). It's been my main gigging bass for years and was a 1987 when I bought it. The neck basically died a few year a back so it was replaced with a 2008 US Standard neck (and bridge). The one on the right is a Fender Tony Franklin fretless P Bass and it is simply wonderful The last picture has my US Fender Jazz in the middle. It's a 2000 model and has Wizard 64 pickups installed. I gigged with it last Saturday and had more comments about my tone than probably all my previous gigs combined!
4.
Yes it came from Lozz. Excellent cab. Which Berg have you got Nick?
I took a trip to Bass Gear and came away with the CN212. An expensive trip but well worth it It would have to be good to make me part with the Schroeder
5.
Whoa, awesome cabs - wondering if this one was mine at one point - anyway, these are definitely a one-cab-does-all, and very easy on the back as well.
Thanks Lozz. Hope you're well and staying out of trouble I bought it from OBBM but I'm not sure where he got it from. I've just bought a new Berg cab otherwise I'd be hanging on to this one
6. Chris bought a Fender G&G case from me at the weekend. Fortunately he arrived early as I totally forgot he was coming over and I was just on my way out to take my dog for a walk! Really nice guy and incredibly easy to deal with. Highly recommended
7. For sale is a Markbass Tube 800 amp with a Markbass amp bag. Both are in super conditioning less than a year old. There are a few very small marks on the top of the amp (pictured) other than that, it's perfect (the amp bag is too).. This amp pushes out 500w at 8ohms and 800w at 4 ohms. It weighs in at 2.8kgs and has 2 blendable preamps (solid state and a tube preamp which adds a bit of warmth, but little dirt to be honest). Brand new the amp and gig bag would cost in excess of £770. My amp and bag are both well looked-after and in great condition and I'm looking for £580. NOW SOLD
8. For sale is a superb 4ohm Schroeder 21012L cab plus the upgraded padded (4mm) Roqsolid cab cover that they now offer. The cab is in very good condition but there are a few scuffs on the plastic corners. Other than a few scuffs here and there, it's a superb cab with 2x10 speakers and an angled 12" speaker. It's seriously loud and weighs in at 23kgs, soo is a very reasonable lift. I want to go back to 2 12" speakers and that is the only reason I am selling this wonderful cab. It's the earlier version that was made in the USA and is built like a tank. I'm looking for £420 I'll post pics up shortly, but there's not a great deal to show as it's very much a black box
9. I've just taken delivery of a Chorus pedal from Martyn. Great pedal and exactly as described. Highly recommended
10. For sale is a genuine Fender black 3-ply (black/white/black) pickguard from a Tony Franklin Precision bass that I have replaced with a tortoise shell pickguard. It's in superb condition (virtually unused) and still has the plastic film on it. It is a 13 hole pickguard that would fit a USA P bass and some other models, although I'm unsure which ones (I think Japanese P basses have the same configuration). The only difference between this and a standard P Bass pickguard is that this one has a slot in it for a slider switch, which on the Tony Franklin allows you to switch between the P pickup, the J pickup or both. I think this is a better setup than having 3 control knobs, so would be ideal for someone looking to add a J pickup to their P bass. I'm looking for £35 plus £2 p&p
11. For sale is a Fender G&G P bass/J bass case in black Tolex with a plush black lining (complete with keys). It's in super condition but is surplus to requirements. It's a reissue case (with a 70's Fender Custom Shop reissue) so is period correct for a 70's Fender. It's in great condition with no tears to the Tolex at all. Here's a stock picture but it gives you the overall idea of the case. As mentioned, it's in great condition. I'm looking for £85 and would rather this was picked up or I'm happy to meet somewhere. I'd consider a trade for a Mono M80 gigbag
12. Thanks for the offers. I'm really not looking for trades though
13. I have just taken delivery of a superb Fender Tony Franklin fretless bass from David. The bass is in better condition than I had ever hoped for and is absolutely wonderful, although I've yet to plug it in! I can't wait to try it out and can't recommend David highly enough. Thanks again David
14. For sale is a 2006 USA Fender lined Fretless Jazz Bass in beautiful sunburst. It comes with a tortoise shell, white and black pickguard and all the case candy but no case sadly (but will be supplied in a good padded gigbag). It also comes with a set of US pickups and VVT wiring set (including knobs, pots and bell plate). It's currently wired up with the factory fitted S1 wiring set up, but the front pickup only seems to work when the button is pushed in. To be fair, it makes the bass sound massive and gives it a really lovely sound, but as I've not had the chance to fix the wiring, I will supply it with the alternative wiring set as mentioned above. Condition-wise its in veyr good overall condition with very little fretwear on the neck. The body is generally very good, but someone has either drill holes for the chrome pickup covers (also supplied, but not Fender) and either refilled the holes or aborted their attempt half-way through. I can't tell but have taken pictures. It's currently strung with flatwounds and plays and sounds beautiful. It really is a good fretless. It's also very lightweight and comfortable to play I'm looking for £575 plus shipping, but would be happy for the bass to be picked up or meet half-way. No trades please
