Both are in immaculate condition. £22 plus £5 p&p each- BOTH SOLD 1x Hercules GS402B/W mini guitar stand (perfect for gigging). SOLD
2. I bought Dave's immaculate Stingray Classic in a totally hassle-free deal. He's a lovely guy with some great stories and its a shame we didn't have more time to chat. Deal with in complete confidence
3. I had a go on this today around Dave's and its as good and honest a P Bass of this age you'll find. The neck and action are super comfortable and the neck pocket is one of the better ones I've seen on a 70s P Bass. Where there is wear on the body, you can see the lovely red of the sunburst coming through. All in all a lovely bass. Have a bump from me Dave. If I wasn't already P bassed up I'd have this off you
4.
I am I've been a member here for well over 10 years, since the days of the original Bassworld forum.
No he's not. I'm OBBM!
5. I've been a user of Flatwound strings for many years and have normally used basses that have bridges where the strings pass through the end of the bridge, not through the body. I've just picked up a bass that has a string-thru only bridge and wondered if anyone can recommend me a set of flatwounds or halfwounds that would suit this type of bridge. I'm conscious of the angle over the saddle and know that some flatwounds would probably break if they were strung this way. Thanks in advance
6. Thanks for all the comments so far. Please don't offer trades as I'm really not looking for anything other than a px for a Stingray 4 string unlined
7.
Just got one of these in a local trade for my Asdown Mi10. Great little combo, good sounding and very versatile with the aux and DI. Have a free bump for a great deal.
Thanks mate
8.
Wow - I thought this was 'the one', Nick?
Nah This is THE one Mark
9. Never said it was a keeper gary mac, on 18 February 2013 - 09:32 AM, said: Nice one Nick, take it this one is a keeper then? I've given up labelling basses as keepers Gary! There's only one bass that I would keep forever and that's my old P Bass that has been with me for 20-odd years Not seen anything else, just don't need it and can't justify hanging on to it
10. Not sure I really want to do this, but its not being gigged, so here goes... For sale is a 2010 Custom Shop Pino Bass complete with case, candy and the all important Certificate and original hang tags. It's simply the best bass I've ever owned or played. It also weighs in at under 8.5lbs due to the gorgeous lightweight alder body. It also comes with Fender's limited lifetime warranty and has been registered. The case still has the plastic film over the locks and the bass is in superb condition, despite the relicing! I am looking for £2,450, which is around £500 saving on a new one. I would consider a p/x with an unlined MMStingray 4 up to about £650-750 depending on the condition etc. but that's it, so please don't offer anything else. Thanks for looking and I reserve the right to withdraw when common sense prevails.
11.
Thanks Si, must take some better pics
I'd forgotten just how lovely a white/white/rosewood Fender can be. I used to have a Stratocaster in the same colour scheme. Very nice indeed
12. It's the best bass I've ever played by a country mile. I didn't pay £3k for mine, but if I had the money and had to pay that amount I would have after playing it.
13.
Pino envy!! I really need to find one that is an absolute dog to play, so it puts me off before I go and buy one and put myself in debt.
I'm afraid the only dog in the picture is my black lab lying in the background I'm sorry to say it's probably to nicest bass I've played to date
14.
You too Nick ...and stop dangling your Pino in front of me
Just softening you up for the killer blow
15.
Very nice Nick...and not a trace of dogshit anywhere
You didn't see what was behind me Alan Hope you're well
16.
very nice Nick! I am cutting down my collection too. A P, a J and (for my current band as I am not 100% comfortable with it) a fretless
Thanks mate. I'm sure your Fretless playing is rock solid
17.
I beat you to it
You're a Gentleman
18. This is for sale currently: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/205971-for-sale-ebs-session-60-combo-as-new-l160-price-drop/page__fromsearch__1
19. Well I thought I'd make the most of the sunshine and take some pics of my 3 basses in decent light for a change. From left to right: 2006 US 75 Reissue Jazz, 2010 Custom Shop Pino Palladino Signature P Bass, 1989(ish) US P Bass. The 89 is my usual go-to gigging bass and is just like an old pair of slippers. It now sports a 2008 neck and a Badass bridge as the original neck ended up the shape of a banana! The Pino is probably the best bass I've ever played and certainly the best bass I've owned. When we play venues I'm familiar and comfortable with, it will probably be the bass I gig with. The 75 Jazz is a recent acquisition that I very nearly parted with a few weeks back. Just prior to selling, I noticed the block inlay was lifting very slightly in the first fret position so decided I didn't want to sell a bass that had a potential issue with it. This appears to be common with Fender block inlays, particularly those with the trussrod being adjustable from the nut end and have compared it to several Fenders (both reissues and original 70's basses) and 8 out of 10 had a similar problem in varying degrees. I had it checked out by Gavin at Andertons and he thinks it's pretty secure. Molan is arranging for me to meet his Luthier too for a second opinion and also to see if it could be remedied, but it's not affecting playability at all and I have the action as low as I like it I've tried many types of bass available in the UK; Musicman, Lakland, Shuker, Rickenbacker, Gibson, Epiphone, Sandberg, Aria, Danelectro, Dingwall etc and always come back to Fenders time after time. I had a life-changing experience a few months back (an epiphany moment as opposed to an epifani moment which I have had too many of in the past!) and now realise that I got caught up too much in buying and selling gear as opposed to actually enjoying what I have. I still would like to add a decent fretless and possibly a Ric 4003 to my stable at some stage Anyway, I hope you enjoy the pics as much as I enjoy the basses. PS Please excuse the Black Lab in one of the pics. It's impossible in the Murphy household to have a picture that she hasn't managed to sneak in to
20. For sale is a black G&G Fender reissue Tolex Case in black. It came with my US 75 Reissue Jazz Bass. It has a few scratches down the Tolex (nothing major) and one of the feet is knocked loose, but to could all be repaired with superglue and doesn't affect the structural strength. It comes with keys too and would cost £158 new according to Thomann! It would be perfect for a 70's Fender as part of the overall package. I'd rather this was picked up due to the weight, but am willing to meet half-way. Yours for £75 I'll post pics up soon but it's as described above and is exactly the same as the stock picture attached
21.
Ok....It looks like just what Im after, but it could be a week or two before I have the money. If you still have it when I have the money I will sort something out, but if you sell it in the meanwhile its no problem.
No problem
22. It is currently but I've had a fair bit of interest in the last few days
