1. That's a good point I'm not selling it as a complete bass as it's not "plumbed in" so to speak. But, here it is. I think it would look great with a gold pickguard
2. I'm having a clear out of bits and pieces I've got lying around. All bits are genuine Fender Japan pieces unless otherwise stated: Wizard Thumper P Bass pickup in excellent condition- £35 inc P&P 2 knobs- non Fender and the push on sort for split shaft pots- £2.50 inc P&P Thanks for looking
3. Slightly off topic, but I was Googling about Reeves Gabrels' Reverend guitars he was using last night with The Cure (darn sight better than those Parkers he used to use IMHO) and came across this. Literally
4. Watching it too. I was a huge fan of The Cure in my teen years. I don't recall Elizabeth Taylor singing lead vocals with them though.....
5. I recently acquired a TC Electronics RH450 bass head, but as is always the way, somehting I have been after for ages has come up The head is in overall very good condition (there are a few small scratches on the top of it and it has a few of the obligatory hirline cracks on a couple of the buttons). It comes in the official TC Electronics padded gigbag and all the original packaging. The amp sounds huge and the 2 preset channels are a wonderful idea. I am looking for £350 for this and would be willin got post, although I'd rather it was picked up. I am also currently selling a TC Electroncis RS212 here http://basschat.co.u...__fromsearch__1. The sound of them both together is wonderful If both are bought together, I'd be willing to let them go for £620 buwould rather these were picked up or a meet arranged. I'd also consider trades for an Epifani 4 ohm cab or a Bergantino one. Pics to follow
6. For sale is a recently acquired (bought as a job lot) TC Electronic RS212 8 ohm cab. I played it last night and it sounds immense. Unfortunately though I'm looking for something a little less modular (IE 1 cab solution). It sounds wonderful and sounds big but is a bit scruffy (scuffs and paint chips) and one ding on the corner. It's been used and looks like it's been used but it's all cosmetic. These are going for £505 (best price) new. Given the cosmetic appearance I'm looking for £220 and would rather this was picked up either from near Woking or Basingstoke, but I'm willing to travel to meet. I've also included a picture of Jessica Ennis' arse just for perspective.
7. Peter Trewavas from Marillion Graham Gouldman for 10CC 2 huge influences on me
8. Strange one on Friday in a new pub for us in Woking. I think the weather conspired against us as there were lots of people sitting outside. The area we were asked to set up in was a bit out of the way too, but to be fair there wasn't anywhere else that would have given us enough room. We had a few people dancing by the end of the first set right through the second set and one drunk punter who kept asking us if we knew any heavy Blues. It's only my 3rd of 4th gig with the new band, but managed to get a really nice groove going with the Drummer who is really rather good. Lots of nice compliments at the end and I used my fretless P Bass for a few numbers and the band seemed more than happy. Nest gig is on 7th September back at the Row Barge, so should be a good night
9. I saw Bob play with Elton a few years back. He was using a Stingray 5 and singing harmony vocals. He had a wonderful bass sound and played some really nice chops. Such a shame.
10. For sale is my Markbass Super Booster pedal complete with Markbass power adaptor. It's in superb condition and is a great pedal that not only boosts the signal but also has the much vaunted VPF and VLE FIlters in pedal form. Finally, it acts as a DI pedal too. These are currently selling new for £110 inc P&P. This one is in excellent condition and a great bit of kit. It's only a few months old too. I'm looking for £85 inc P&P. For many Markbass amp users, the VLE and VPF filters are the only EQ knobs they turn! This pedal gives anyone access to these two magic filters. The VLE (Vintage Loudspeaker Emulator) filters out high frequencies to give you a mellower, less modern sound. The VPF (Variable Pre-shape Filter) boosts lows and highs, and cuts mids: especially great for slap and pick playing. The SUPER BOOSTER pedal also gives you a clean Boost, very handy for helping you stand out when taking a solo! This highly practical pedal features true bypass and buffered bypass circuitry and also acts as an active DI.
11. I just came across this on You Tube. After watching The Vegas Job earlier this week, I must admit I was left totally underwhelmed by JE's sound, touch and ability and felt rather bad about it as he's always been a hero of mine. I must say though, this clip has made me feel a whole lot better http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=50UL2ZRhqoQ&feature=related
12.
Nice to finally say Hi OHM!! Indeed - Ive had many people ask me 'Alice...who the F* is Alice' - she really is a beauty - which im sure is a reflection of the real Alice :-)
I like to think so and if I could afford to take this back I'd jump at the chance!!
13.
Wonderful looking bass. Why has it got Alice on the headstock?
Because that is my wife's name
14. Played a Social Club near Epsom last night. It has to be the hottest gig I've played for a while. The band used to laugh at the little fan I have clipped to my Mic stand but at the end of the night both the singer and guitarist came over and said "where exactly did you get your fan again?" Good job none of us have 80's Rock hair! We played pretty well and have been booked for 2 more gigs this year. For the second time in as many gigs I had a someone come up to me to say how much they liked my playing. Very flattering of course and I should bank those remarks for all the gigs where nobody seems to notice! It was the first gig with my new Fender 64 CS Jazz and it was an absolute dream
15. I've been asked to price up the component parts, so this is what I would ask for each piece Combo with cover- £575 Extension cab with cover- £350
16. For sale is my Genz Benz Shuttle ST6.0-12T Combo with matching Genz Benz 12" extension cab. Both are in superb condition and come with fitted covers. It's about 6 months old and has been owned by me from new. The Combo weighs under 15kg's and will push out 375 watts @ 8 ohms or 600 watts @ 4 ohms. It's a wonderful sounding piece of kit and as said, is in superb condition. I'm looking to sell both together, but would be willing to split if I can find a buyer for both the combo and cab. The amp is also removable from the chassis if you want to use it with other cabs. I'm looking for £925 for the complete set up. I'd also consider a P/ex for an Epifani Cab (4 ohm) plus cash my way.
