  1. Well, yesterday proved quite fruitful. 2 new P basses to the fold. In all honesty, I was looking for only 1 but sometimes something is too good to pass up on. First up is a 1977 natural P bass that came to me in a trade. The colour of the body and the headstock is amazing and the overall condition is great. I put a set of D'Addario Chromes on it last night and gigged it. It was fantastic. The second deal of the day was for a 2001 USA P Bass in a light blue finish (unsure exactly what it is- think it's Sky Blue) that I owned previously but had sold on. It's now turning a lovely greeny colour similar to a light Surf Green. It's fantastic and I haven't seen many around in this colour. I'm not sure whether I'll keep both as I have another P bass already, but at the moment I'm enjoying their company
  2. I just bought back an old Bass that I sold to Colin several years ago. He was patient enough to listen to my persistent whining about buying it back and finally crumbled!! A lovely man and a pleasure to deal with as always
  3. I had the pleasure of meeting Russ at Stupid O'Clock (my idea!) yesterday to swap basses. A lovely guy who is totally trustworthy and honest. It's a shame we didn't have longer to talk
  4. Just sold Mark a Fender Jazz bass. A completely hassle-free transaction and a lovely guy too. What more can you ask for! Highly recommended
  5. Pedal train now sold. Bump for lower price on Boss pedals
  6. If I sell my Stignray between now and Sunday Chris, I'll make you a serious offer!!
  7. Hutton recently bought a Fender Fretless P bass from me and had to ensure all sorts of problems caused by Yodel (surprise surprise). He was more than supportive and very understanding and I can't recommend him highly enough
  8. Absolutely beautiful Chris. One of my favourite basses. If only....
  9. For sale is my 2009 Fender American Series Jazz bass in beautiful sunburst/rosewood and tortoiseshell. It's easily the best sounding Jazz I've owned and plays superbly. I have fitted it with a genuine Fender 62 Reissue Jazz pickguard and Fender stack pots too (V/T V/T for each pickup which gives far more tonal varieties). It's currently strung with Ernie Ball flats too. The bass has a few dings and scratches on it (especially a patch of buckle rash on the back- I think one of the previous owners must've been in a Country and Western band!) and I have done my best to picture them. All of the marks are superficial and none of them goes through the paintwork. Weight-wise it's around 8.5lbs. I'm looking for £630 for this, or £660 including a great Protec Contego gigbag. I'm not really looking for trades but would consider an Epiphone Jack Casady plus case or a 51 Reissue P Bass (and some cash my way) or a Fender American P Bass in the same livery.
  10. Hi Gareth It's this one here : http://prostagegear.com/products/pedalboards/mini/ Dimensions are 21 x 7 x1 (inches) and I've put the loop side of the velcro on the board. Cheers Nick
  11. For sale is a recently acquired 2005 Musicman Stingray 5 in superb condition. I bought it from Bass Direct several weeks ago, but have finally concluded 5 stringers aren't right for me. Mark bought this bass as "new old stock" from the MM UK Distributor and it had never been used prior to me buying it. There is one tiny (tiny) mark in the lacquer near the neck plate at the back but it is virtually invisible. Action is wonderfully low and the bass weighs in around 9lbs so is fantastically light and comfortable too. It also has the best B String I've played (currently strung with a new set of DR Sunbeams). It comes with a Protec Contego gigbag (wonderful pieces of kit) and a new set of DR Sunbeams. I paid £1,200 for this but am willing to let it go for £1,000 or p/x for a Fender US 62 reissue P Bass, 75 Reissue US Jazz Bass or Japanese 51 reissue (plus cash my way). You really won't find a better condition Stingray than this unless you bought a new one.
  12. Just back from playing the Barleymow in Shepperton with my new band. We went down really well with a very appreciative crowd and have been invited back. It doesn't happen often, but a guy at the end came up to me, shook me by the hand and told me I was a fantastic Bass player and he hoped to see us again soon. It really made my night
  13. For sale is a mint condition Boss OC-3 Octaver (complete with box)- £70 inc delivery Also up for sale is a Boss CEB-3 Bass Chorus (great condition but no box)- £50 inc P&P
  14. I bought a set of D'Addario strings off Pete which arrived in record time. Highly recommended
  15. It doesn't get much better than that. Stop wasting time with silly old roundwounds though Adam. Come over to the Dark Side
  16. I've got the HMT variant for sale here http://basschat.co.uk/topic/179790-for-sale-fender-hmt-semi-acoustic-p-bass-l330/page__p__1713122#entry1713122
  17. I have 3 "playing" Basses; P Bass strung with flatwounds, a Stringray 5 string strung with round wounds and a Stingray Fretless. These 3 cover all musical styles I play and as said before by other BC'ers I think anything on top of these 3 would be doubling up somewhat. I've also recently bought one of the Jubilee Hofner Violin basses more as an ornament (and hopefully an investment).
