1. Number 6 of 60 has just arrived Not everyone's cup of tea for sure. A bit of fun and hopefully an investment too
2. The guitar solo on Lyle Lovett's North Dakota (starts about 3:29 in to the song). Simple but possibly the most hauntingly beautiful thing I've ever heard.
3. I saw this the other night and really enjoyed it. The 2 of them seemed to genuinely like each other and the banter (along with the stories and music) was very good.
4. For sale is a brand new custom made (unopened) tortoiseshell pickguard for a Fender Geddy Lee Jazz bass. Yours for £25 inc P&P
5. For sale is a set of Sadowsky flatwound (black label) flatwound strings (45-130t) bass stings with a tapered B string. These are virtually new and have been put on to my Musicman Stingray 5 string and taken straight off again. I guess they would fit any bass that has a 4 + 1 tuner layout. I had to import these strings. They really are superb, just not for me at this time! £25 inc p&p
6. I've just taken delivery of a MM Stingray 5 String and it is easily one of the best basses I've ever had the pleasure of playing. Playability is superb, but I'm a little underwhelmed by the preamp. Coming from a background of playing mostly passive basses and in particular P basses, I am looking for a warm sounding, not too boomy sound (particularly on the B String) and I don't seem to be able to dial in the sound I have in my head. Are there any replacement preamps out there that could give me the sound I'm looking for?
7. That's like reading James Joyce. Takes me back......
8.
Ooooooo pretty. I want, I want, I want. Shame I can't afford it right now :-( Humour me though, does it play and sound as good as it looks?
No mate, it's an absolute Dog....... Seriously, it's a wonderful sounding and playing bass
9. I just recently bought this but unfortunately I've just acquired a Stingray 5 string so this has to go. Its an early 90's Fender HMT Bass. Basically it's a semi-acoustic P Bass with a Jazz profile neck. It weighs approx 7lbs and is wonderfully balanced and a joy to play. This bass has been well used and as a result has a few marks on it (pictured where possible). The Silver Lace sensor pickup works fine and gives everything from a grindy P bass sound through to a woody, semi-acoustic mellow tone. The Piezo doesn't work at the moment, but I'm sure this is a loose connection and an easy fix as it's unbalanced I never used this anyway as it had quite a harsh sound). The original stovepipe knobs have been replaced with wooden controls which I think look a whole lot better. It also comes in a nice Ritter gigbag and is strung with flatwounds. These are now discontinued and becoming quite rare and sought after. Here are the specs from Fender: Top: Figured Maple

Back and Sides: Basswood
Scale: 34 1/8"
Nut Width: 1 1/2"
Serial Number: J025013
Fretboard: Rosewood
Headstock Shape: Angled peghead without scroll at top
Headstock Overlay: Bold Script Logo
Inlays: Triangular sharkstooth inlay
Pickup(s): Silver Lace Sensor pickup with Precision-style split-coil configuration, Plezo bridge pickup
Made in Japan
Weight: 7 lbs
I'm looking for £310 inc P&P.
10.
they've arrived at barnes & mullins. there is pictures on sound affects facebook page.
Just checked them out- thanks!
11. For sale is a virtually new (unused) Levy's leather strap in chocolate brown and suede backing. The leather quality is great and the build quality is superb. THe strap is very comfortable at 3.5" wide and adjusts between 36-52" in length. I'm looking for £25 inc P&P.
12. For sale is a Musicman Stingray/Sterling hardcase (suitable for 4 and 5 string basses). It's in overall very good condition apart from a bit of damage on one corner (pictured). There's a small crack and a dent which could be easily repaired with a glue gun and certainly doesn't affect the integrity or structure of the case. I'm looking for £55 inc delivery or £50 collected. Im currently in Portsmouth so can't take any other pictures but the case (apart form the damage shown) is in great nick.
13. I just bought Paul's Fender HMT Bass in a very easy transaction. The bass was better than described and the whole deal was very easy. Highly recommended
14. Chris just bought my Protec Contego gigbag. An easy transaction and a pleasure to deal with. Thanks Chris
15. Tom bought my Radial Bigshot in a totally hassle-free friendly deal. Highly recommended and a nice guy too
16. Hi mate That's exactly how I had it set up. No issues with the tuner at all
17. For sale is a Radial Bigshot Instrument Selector, which allows you to switch between 2 instruments going in to 1 amp. This one is in super condition and a fair bit less than a brand new one. £55 in P&P
18. I'm currently borrowing a SR5 from a mate of mine (34" scale) and want to string it with flatwounds. I've had a SR5 in the past but struggled with the tuning/intonation of the B string when I've used flats. Any recommendations for the best, highest tension flatwounds I could try?
19. I had a Zilla Thiele 2 x 12 that I bought off of Voxpop on here. He commissioned it and spent ages in selecting the right speakers etc. It was a superb cab, just a bit too heavy for my requirements
20. Brand new Protec Contego still with tags attached for sale for £65 plus £5 P&P. I have managed to end up with more gigbags than basses (don't ask) so am looking to move this on at what I think is a decent price
21. I took delivery of John's Bongo 5 in a very easy, pleasant deal. A good guy to deal with. Thanks John
22. For sale is a Shuker branded/embossed Hiscox Hard Case with a lovely shiny blue interior! It's in superb condition and comes with the keys still taped inside the compartment. JOn is selling these for £95 on his website. This one has hardly been used and can be yours for £65 plus £10 P&P
23. I've just taken delivery of a Protce Contego Case from James. A totally hassle-free transaction and the case is eveyr bit as good as he said it was. Highly recommended
24. Sorry, it has to be Sunburst, rosewood and tortoiseshell. I'm pretty sure there was a law passed to this effect. Anything else is just unnatural and slightly perverse
