1. I'm good thanks Steve. Busy with work and a new band. Funnily enough, I've just got rid of my second P bass too as I couldn't see the point in hvaing 2 that did the same thing Still cricketing?
 2. Oh Steve, how could you! Seriously, the black BG was one of the best basses I have owned and one I really regret moving on. The neck is superb and it's a very comfortable weight. Tempted.........
 3. Sound Affects, who seems to be the main UK sales outlet only has 4 left. They had 15 in total (apparently the first 15 of the 60 being made). Wow, they seem to be flying off the shelves quicker than you can say "Sue Ryder".
 4.
Hi there Old Horse Murphy, how you getting on with my old 500/1? It's very strange not seeing it on display in my lounge
Good thanks. It was every bit as lovely as you described. It may have to go at some point as I've had a bit of a splurge (Union Jack 500/1 and MM Bongo 5 string!) How's your Cricket season turning out?
 5. Hi Barrie. God Save the Queen Weight is 10lbs (maybe 10lbs 1oz) Not sure who made the pickup as all the Shuker website says is "custom wound pickup". I have a feeling it's Seymour Duncan but I could have made that up. Pickguards are included in the price as I'd have no use for them.
 6.
No it'll go on the wall, we're not really into short scale basses, they feel too sloppy. I had a hofner CT500/1 until very recently. I sold it to finance my Steinberger XL2. Sold it to another basschatter. I've already got a replica of the Shea Stadium jacket, actually, the whole suit, which I bought when we got married and I'm sure there will be plenty of plastic hats in the bin!! Looking forward to getting it, always loved the violin shape (probably because I grew up playing fiddle from the age of 6)
Yep my wife "insisted`' i ordered one too, so I duly pulled the trigger yesterday
 7. Hi Andy Jon charged £25 each for the pickguards. The bass is a standard spec JJ Burnel P bass but was built from new for Dan in a custom colour. As it's not black, Jon and Dan agree dto not put the JJ Burnel signature on the headstock. To be honest, the more I play this, the more I'm falling in love with it
 8.
I would have had this last week, can't believe its still here
I should've taken you up on your offer
 9.
Did you say in the OP that Jon is making a black pickguard for this?
That's right. he's making 2; a black one and a vintage white one. The black one is finished and the vintage white one should be done by the end of this week
 10.
What is wide band tone cut?
It apparently takes a little more treble off than the original tone pot on JJ's bass. To my ears though it gives more tonal variation than a normal P Bass tone circuit
 11.
Bit to old for this Biking malarki Nick
I'm saving up for a Bath Chair Rich
 12. I recently acquired this of Dan Webb on this very forum. It's a Shuker JJ Burnel Signature P Bass that has been finished in a gorgeous metallic purple with pearloid pickguard, rather than the usual black livery. Build quality is superb and the satin finish neck is one of the nicest I've played. The bass is absolutely superb and in mint condition. It weighs in at 10lbs and plays beautifully (currently fit with a set of Flatwounds). Jon is currently making a vintage white and a black pickguard as personally I think it will look better with one or the other. It also comes with a Protection Racket gigbag (superb piece of kit). I intended to keep this bass but a serious mishap with my Mountain Bike has added a considerable amount of expense I wasn't expecting! I'm looking for £860 (or £830 without gigbag) for this, but would consider trading down value-wise for an Epiphone Jack Casady with the balance being paid in cash. I may consider a US Fender P Bass, 51 or Sting P Bass or Fender Jazz plus cash my way too. Here is the spec: Width at nut 44mm 3 piece basswood and english white ash body 40mm thickness polyester basecoat, black colour, wet look lacquer top coat. laminated Phenolic scratchplate custom wound P pickups (slightly overwound) Gotoh bridge, chrome straplocks copper can shielding wide band tone cut maple neck maple f/board, black front and side dots Or rosewood board, white fron and side dots jumbo fretwire two way adjustable truss rod, neck heel end adjustable dual carbon fibre neck reinforcement Gotoh tuners brass nut satin finish on neck individually signed and numbered Thanks for looking.
 13.
i used to own that ray
Small world It's the best ray I've ever played
 14. A bit of a quandary here; over the last few months I have acquired a 3 eq MM Stingray Fretless and a Fender Japan unlined Fretless. I only need one, but can't decide WHICH one!! As a result, Im putting both up for sale and will keep the other. The first is a 1998 MM Stingray unlined Fretless in amberburst. It has the nicest figuring on the neck i have ever seen and is in superb condition apart from a dent on the top edge where the forearm rests. The ding goes through the paint and the finish has started to crack in places. It's not serious and unnoticeable from the front. Apart from that, I can't see a mark on the bass. The fretboard is Pao Ferro. There are a few minor string marks, but not much at all. Action is really low (recently set up and cleaned at quite an expense with new La Bella flats). It probably weighs no more than 8.5lbs The Ray will come with a gigbag as I do not have the case. I'm looking for £650 plus P&P
 15.
Are the disco lights still for sale?
Hi mate The ones in the ad that haven't been marked with Sold Pending are still available
 16. My latest trio including a brace of P Basses. From left to right is my 98 Stingray Fretless, a 2012 Shuker JJ Burnel Signature and my 1989 body/2008 neck P Bass. The 89 P Bass is and always will be my go-to No. 1 bass. The Stingray is a wonderful instrument and joins the "not going anywhere club" too. Whether the Shuker joins remains to be seen, although from first impressions there's a strong possibility it will
 17. My second deal with Dan and it was equally as fruitful and smooth as the first deal Highly recommended and a thoroughly nice guy
 18. For Sale is a Washburn AB20 Electro-Acoustic Bass in superb condition. This is not to be confused with the AB10 and is a far superior instrument. The finish is wonderful and the colour is stunning. It looks to me that it either has a maple or spruce top and rosewood fingerboard and bridge. I bought this very recently from Spaners (lovely guy) for project that got binned before it had started!! It is 34" scale and sounds wonderful acoustically, but once the Equis II preamp comes in to play, the bass sounds in a different league! Specs are: Fingerboard Rosewood, fretted Body Type Mahogany sides, Maple Top Finish Tobacco Sunburst Pickup(s) Fishman piezo with Equis II pre-amp Controls Volume, contour, 3 band EQ It also has a Direct Out should you need it. The bass is very light, well-balanced and does everything from a realistic woody Double Bass sound, through to a crisp, clear acoustic sound. Due to the not having a case, I would rather this was picked up or a meet up arranged. I'm looking for £320, which is what I paid for this.
 19.
Do you know if the tuners are the ones mentioned in my previous post?
Hi there THese are the tuners made for the 2008 onwards Fender basses, so I don't think they're the same ones. I'll take a pic though so you can check for definite.
 20.
Hey Nick, wonderful basses. I had one of those Washburn acoustic basses and they are superb but again, I had no use for mine and sold it. Loving the fretless precision also. Would be interested to hear your thoughts on what the tone is like on a fretless precision.
When I've got a bit of time I'll pop over with it mate
 21.
That fretless P is beautiful!
Thanks The plan was to put some tapewounds on it, but as the project has folded, I'm nut sure it will get much of a look in as my Stingray Fretless is lovely and gets a lot of play
