1. For sale is a brand new standard issue Rickenbacker 4003 Bass case. This will be sent in the original packing and has been totally unused (other than shipping my new Rickenbacker bass to me in ) Comes complete with keys and the Rickenbacker logo is still covered in the protective film cover. Selling for £150 plus £15 P&P.
2. Hi Barrie Yes they are. There's a notched washer just below the tone control knob. This can be removed if you want without too much trouble.
3. I tried out the one at the Gallery and it's not the best RI I've played. I seem to remember it actually have a fair few chips and dings on it too and was definitely surprised by the £1,200 price tag given the overall condition. I've actually just fitted a set of concentric pots to my American Series Jazz bass. I prefer the look and the versatility of having a tone pot for each pickup.
4. BUMP for a lower price. This is £800 off the cost of a new one and in wonderful condition. I'm also only looking for a straight sale now
5.
Lovin' the Fenders Nick - can't quite round the fan frets of Dingwalls, sorry! Is that my old Jazz ...
Hi Clarky, yes its your old Jazz that I've technically owned 4 times now. It's not going anywhere from now on though
6. For sale is a Stagg 3u Rackbag in excellent condition. These usually sell for £39-45 plus P&P Yours for £25 inc P&P Here's a link to the spec: http://www.andertons...ed-rack-bag.asp
7. For sale is a Fender USA New Series Jazz Bass pre-wired control plate which has been taken off of my Jazz bass. It's in superb condition and ready to go and just needs to be connected up to the pickups £22 plus P&P
8.
How do you find the switch from a standard fretted neck to the Dingwall at a moment's notice? Is it something that takes a little getting used to or does it just come naturally?
I have to say that I find switching from a "normal" 4 string to the Dingwall 5 a lot easier than I did switching from a 4 to a standard 5. I don't know why, but I think the way the frets are laid out just makes it more intuitive and comfortable.
9. I thought I'd show off my current 3 gigging basses as there has been a few changes recently My fretless and my old 79 P Bass are notable absences but I hardly ever gig with them because firstly, I don't have a fretless gig currently and secondly because the P Bass weighs over 11lbs!! From left to right I have my 2009 Fender American Series Jazz bass. It has been fitted with a 62 Reissue pickguard and has recently been rewired with concentric pots as I MUCH prefer the tonal variation offered with the individual tone pots. In the middle we have my recently acquired Dingwall Afterburner AB1. The jury is still out on this bass as I don't usually play 5 string basses. I have just fitted it with Payson Flatwounds though (specifically designed for Dingwalls) and it plays incredibly smoothly now and sounds wonderful. I had a gig last night and in a mad panic I managed to turn up with the DIngwall and not the Jazz. With a lot of trepidation I managed to get through the gig without any issues and plenty of comments on the bass and how it sounds It's incredibly comfortable to play and very lightweight. And finally, we have my 1989/2009 US Fender P bass (89 body and pickups, 2009 neck and bridge). This is the one bass I would never part with. We've been through a lot together and it looks like it has been dragged through a hedge backwards but I love it dearly. Amp-wise, I'm currently playing through a Genz Benz Shuttle 6 12" Combo with extension cab and can honestly say, I haven't been happier with the sound.
10.
Do you rate this DVD for a beginner? Have you found it useful? Looking at getting a copy from Amazon. Cheers Chris
Hi Chris Save yourself some pennies. I have another copy which you're welcome to. £8 inc P&P
11. I recently acquired this from Danwebb22 in a trade but have decided that it's not really for me (because I don't play 5 strings). It's a 5 string Dingwall Afterburner AB1 in Purpleburst with the custom option of the 5A Flame Maple top and the blacked out heel and headstock. It also comes with a superb Dingwall (made by Levy's) gigbag. It is also in immaculate condition. The actual colour is slightly darker than the pics (the flash has lightened the finish a bit). The bass weighs an incredible 8lbs 6oz and was bought from Mark at Bass Direct for £2,300 a while ago. This bass is the nuts to play. The sounds from the passive Dingwall circuit are wonderful (goes from P bass, through to growly Jazz bass to a mixture of both) and the fanned frets took me only a few minutes to get used to and it feels far more comfortable and natural than a more traditionally fretted bass. The evenness of the sound across the strings is fantastic and the B String is playable right the way up the neck. One of the best things for me is the fact that all the strings feel the same tension and give an even playability (IE the B String is not flappy compared to the D or G String). The bass also comes with a brand new set of Payson Flatwounds and these too feel completely stable and even across all strings (often an issue on 5 string basses). I'm looking for £1,500 for this (plus £15 P&P) Here are the specs of the Dingwall range:

1. Dingwall made in Canada FD3-A, MACH II 4 L pickups 2. Dingwall passive controls; volume, pickup selector (Bridge, both parallel, both series, Neck), tone control 3. Dingwall USA strings 4. Two piece Alder body* 5. 5A Flame Maple top - £300 option 6. Purpleburst finish 7. Blacked out headstock and heelplate (£50 option) 8. Wenge Fingerboard - satin finish, 34 - 37", Ivoroid side dots 9. Banjo frets 10. Novax® Fanned -Fret System™ 11. 5 piece Maple neck 12. Hipshot ultralight tuners (black) with Extender key on the E string (£85 option) 13. Custom Dingwall Bridge (Black finish) 14. Weight - 8lb 9oz/3.9kg 15. Manufactured in Canada
Here's a link to Dingwall's website too: http://www.dingwallg.../afterburner-1/
12. I met Dan yesterday afternoon and took ownership of his Dingwall AB1. He's a lovely guy and the trade was super-easy. The Bass is absolutely stunning too
13. Thanks for all your comments and I'll have a think about splitting out if I can't sell as one package
14.
Dingwall 5 you say? http://basschat.co.u...__fromsearch__1
Wow- that is stunning!!
15. Thanks for the comments guys. This has a solid Spruce top and laminated maple back and sides. It has an Ebony fingerboard too. The finish is absolutely stunning but these are difficult things to photograph
16. For sale is a new Thomann 22 (made by Hora) Solid top, laminated sides 3/4 size Double Bass. It is in absolutely mint condition and comes with a fitted Bassmax pickup and Fishman Platinum Pro preamp. It also has a superb quality Tom and Will heavy-duty gig Bag and a Hercules Double Bass stand. The bass is superb and had been recommended to me by a pro DB player. It is less than a month old and has never left the house. it's also recently been fitted with a set of Kolstein strings. The bass cost me £700, the pickup and preamp were £160, gig bag was £125, strings were £100 an stand was £35. Total cost was £1,120. I'm looking for £900 for this and don't want to split. Why am I selling? All will become apparent shortly. If anyone has an NS NXT they want to part-ex I'd be very interested, or a Dingwall 5 string or new series Fender US 5 string. I'll get pics up shortly but these things are difficult to photograph properly NOW TRADED
17.
OHM! Are you there?
I am Owen. Sorry, didn't realise there had been replies to this thread Paypal is fine
18. Bob at Kingfisher Music in Fleet is superb. He used to set up and work on Brian May's guitars prior to Queen tours and I have used him on several occasions.
19. Thanks guys. Just fitted the other set to my DB and as Clarky says, they're the equivalent of TI Flats!
