Woking Good God man, you'd either never get the girl and the bass in the same frame unless you stood 600 yeards away, or by the time you'd set the pose and turned around to get the camera the bass and girl would be long gone! Actually it's not that bad, but sadly I don't have the professional credentials (or talent for that matter) to ask a young lady to pose with my bass in a state of undress. I'm pretty sure if I tried I'd end up on some sort of register....
2. I thought I'd start this thread again as the previous one took on a bit of a diversion I bought his beautiful Fender American Series Jazz bass just under 3 weeks ago but am struggling with the Jazz profile neck. In the meantime I have bought a Fender P bass, so this needs to go to find my latest acquisition. It cost £969 when I bought it and is in immaculate condition. It has never been gigged and only played at home a handful of times. It ocmes with the new style SKB/Fender case, all the candy and is strung with a set of D'Addario Half Rounds. It weighs in at 8lb 10oz. The finish is beautiful and it sounds amazing. The action is very low too. Unfortunately however the neck is a bit too thin for my hands Now Sold.
3. It was Kevin McCormick playing (I think) a Lakland Bob Glaub with either one of those Chisonic or Darkstar pickups. It sounded wonderful though. He did have an old battered Fender P as well for some songs.
4. Wow! I've seen the Bass in the flesh and it is stunning. The Ebony fingerboard is beautiful. Whoever gets this for £650 will be getting the bargain of a lifetime!
5.
PM'd
Replied and Sold Pending
6.
Anyone I know?
I think you know him pretty well
7.
So what's on the agenda now then?
Back to Epifani 10's Dave. A friend of mine near Farnham introduced me to them about 3 years ago and he was right all along
8.
Would you seperate?
Possibly. I've had an offer for the non-tweeter cab, so if someone is willing to buy the one with the tweeter, I'd be happy to separate.
9. I've decided to go back to 4 x 10's so am looking to sell my pair of Aguilar DB112's (one with one without tweeter) in Boss Tweed Finish. They come with Roqsolid covers and are in fantastic condition. These cabs are in wonderful condition and sound amazing. Here's the spec from the Aguilar website: One 12" cast frame woofer, 56 oz. magnet Power handling: 300 watts Impedance: 8 ohms One Neutrik Speakon and two 1/4" inputs Frequency response: 42 Hz to 2 kHz Sensitivity: 95 dB 1W 1M Deluxe Strap Handle Metal Corners, Rubber Feet Dimensions: 14"H x 19"W x 19"D 13-ply, void free Baltic Birch Weight: 42 lbs SOLD
10. Just sold a Westone Fretless to Dave. He's an incredibly easy guy to deal with and everything went absolutely to plan. He's a good guy too. What more could you ask for?
11.
I don't think you'll have to wait around for a buyer! I'm hoping to add one to my double P, but finances are a bit tight at the moment.
Up for sale now here: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...mp;#entry865215
12.
Get shot of the LEDs then.
Easier said than done
13.
Why doesn't it fit, if you don't mind me asking?
The battery for the LED's has been fit in to the control cavity, so there's no room for the P-Retro sadly.
14. I bought this from John this week, installed and realised it won't fit properly due to the battery box for my LEDS in the neck I'm not prepared to cut the bass up anymore, so this can't be fitted and is up for. It's as new with the vintage style chrome knobs (selling for £195). All instructions, original packaging and recharger are included. It sounds absolutely wonderful and the boost sounds amazing. I'm gutted that this hasn't worked out but I guess it will teach me to do my homework first. These cost £195 new and this is on sale for £165 inc postage and is literally 2-3 days old. Apparently they aren't in stock currently either. I'd also consider a trade with a Stagg EUB for similar or a 4 ohm 4 X10 plus a bit of cash from me.
15. Thanks for the interest so far. On this one however I'm not looking for trades.
16. Bought one the other day, fitted it today and it sounds amazing. The only problem is it doesn't fit properly due to the battery compartment I have fitted for the LEDS in my P Bass neck I'm not going to chop the bass up any more than it is so will sell the P Retro on and am seriosuly peed off. Gutted
17. For sale is my 1985 (I think) Westone Thunder 1A unlined fretless. It's as black as yer 'at and all original. There are dings and marks on it but nothing major other than you would expect on a 25 year old bass (pictured) and there is some fingerboard-wear (again pictured) but still many years of play left in her. Intonation is great and none of the dings or marks affect playability at all. All the electrics work fine too and the bass has a wonderful fretless sound. It's pretty light too and would make a great bass for someone wanting to try an unlined board before investing in a more expensive instrument. I'm looking for around £130 plus P&P for this. There's no case but it would be well packed (or picked up from Woking is available too).
18.
Definitely not my old one, which was an incredibly weight beast ~12Ibs!! I'm tempted!
Just weighed it on my mate's fishing scales and it's just about 9.75lbs, so lighter than you're average Stingray 5.
19.
This looks like the one I used to own. How much does it weigh? If it is the one, I can honestly say that this was without doubt the best sounding bass I had prior to getting my F bass.
Thanks for your kind words. I'm not entirely sure of it's provenance but knowing how incestuous Basschat is there's a fair chance it is your old one! By my scales in the bathroom it weighs between 9 and 9.5lbs so not very light but certainly not heavy either. In fact it feels lighter than that on the strap.
20. I picked this up recently hoping it would be the right step back on the 5 string path. For a week it worked out perfectly but playing it last night and my forearm went back in to spasm and the old injury has flared up massively So, for sale or trade is this gorgeous Lakland JO Skyline 5 string which is in fantastic condition apart from a few scratches on the lower horn (pictured) which aren't through the lacquer. It is kitted out with Fralins and sounds absolutely wonderful. It's also now strung with D'Addario Chromes but I would be happy to restring with a brand new set of Elites (I think) that I have to hand. It also comes with a Lakland hardcase but unfortunately this has a crack in one of the ends (pictured) but doesn't affect playability. The bass is stunning and I have never seen one in such a nice sunburst colour. I am looking for trades with either a US Fender Jazz (new series) 4 string or Lakland Duck Dunn. I will also sell for £700. Thanks for looking. I really am gutted this one hasn't worked out
