For Sale is my Boss ME-50B Multi Effects Unit. I've not had this long and it is in immaculate condition. It comes with the original packaging, power supply a handy padded bag (old laptop case) and a separate footswitch to activate the Compressor without having to programme patches etc. The great thing about these units is that the effects can be used a 3 or 4 individual pedals rather than having to worry about porgramming patches etc although that can be done too if you're more technically minded than me This is a really decent piece of kit in great condition, just sadly not being used much at the moment. I'm looking for £120 inc P&P or £110 picked up. I would be more than happy to accept a P/ex for a Korg Pitchblack and some cash. Here's what Boss has to say on this unit: The BOSS ME-50B puts world-class bass effects in a rugged floor unit with easy pedal-style control. Effects are divided into six sections—Compressor/Limiter, Master, Filter/Tone, Drive/Synth, Delay/Modulation and Expression Pedal—giving bassists a range of unique and powerful tones including new effects like Sound Hold, Octave Up and Kick Drum. Effects can be edited using 23 knobs and controlled via three built-in footswitches and an assignable expression pedal. This is the piece no bass player should be without! Floor-based bass multi-effects processor with easy analog control Killer COSM® Compressor/Limiter and Drive effects, plus T-Wah, Slow Gear and Defretter Innovative Sound Hold function for sustaining a low note while playing on top Sound On Sound recording with new Kick Drum effect for keeping time Dedicated knobs for each effect section—no menu-surfing! Easy Tone effects with Preset EQ templates for quick tone editing 3 footswitches and onboard expression pedal routed to 6 options like Octave, Wah, etc. Solid metal case built to withstand abuse

For sale is a John East J- Retro 01 pre-amp designed to slot directly in to a standard Jazz bass without any modification. It's in fantastic condition and has all-chrome hardware. These are great units and offer 3 band graphic eq as well as a passive bypass. Here's a link to John's website with a bit more detail about the unit and some pictures: http://www.east-uk.com/ They're currently selling for £195 new and I have priced this one for £120 inc postage. I'm also selling a set of DR Fatbeams stainless steel roundwounds too (gauge 45-105) that have literally been put on to my P Bass and taken straight off again (I much prefer flats!!) These are hte Marcus Miller series with a round core construction for a fatter tone, deeper sound and smoother feel than Hi-Beams. These retail at £28.60 plus P&P, so yours for £18 inc. Thanks for looking
me too, you could always take the battery out! Just kidding. Ironically enough I have a usa jazz but I want to keep that unfortunately.
Funnily enough, I did have a Stingray with a passive bypass a while back, but using it instead of the active EQ seemed as pointless to me as having a gearstick on a horse.

Yeah, I know.......I'm a cock sometimes Bought this on Sunday as a backup to my main US P bass and love it to bits. However, I have been asked to join another band where I feel I need a different sounding bass to a P Bass and would like to try a Jazz bass out. I've been caught on the backfoot here are feel foolish about this, but that's just the way it goes. This is (was) Deaver's 2008 Olympic white/rosewood P Bass which is in fantastic condition (apart from a tiny dent on the top edge which isn't through the paintwork and is only visible from a certain angle). It is strung with La Bella Deep Talkin flats, but I would also be happy to put a brand new set of D'Addario Chromes on it. It also has all the case candy, and a black pickguard I have lying around too. It's super-light (8lbs at a guess) and is one of the nicest P Basses I have ever played. If I didn't have so much sentimental value locked up in my other US P Bass I would definitely be keeping this one as it is far superior. Here's the link to Deaver's sale thread (hope you don't mind John): http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=88054&hl= I am looking for a new Series Fender US Jazz in equally as good condition with a rosewood board (sorry no maple) and preferably sunburst or black or Lakland Joe Osborn (4 or 5 string) If you have anything that fits the bill, please let me know. EDIT sale price of £650 added by popular demand

Met John this weekend to buy his Fender US P bass. It was in even better condition than described and a quality piece of kit. Thanks John and good luck with the Alembic hunt. I think Clarky is ready to crumble......
One day I'll have my 3 bass 'set' that I'm completely happy with. On that day; hell will freeze over, pigs will fly and the Conservatives will form a coalition government with the Lib-Dems (oh...scrub that last one). Fortunately Mrs MTB never quizzes me too much, she just rolls her eyes when she sees one leave/enter the building. Are you sorted now Nick?
Would you mind if I don't answer that question? I'd hate to make myself look silly I've definitely got 1 in place, possibly 2. It's the elusive third one that keeps changing regularly.......

Anyone tried flats on a Rickenbacker?
Old Horse Murphy replied to Cat Burrito's topic in General Discussion
I had a set of La Bellas on my 4003 and loved them. They really changed the tone and to my ears it sounded great as it took a lot of the treble "clank" away and sort of evened everything out sonically. They made the bass feel far nicer to play too -
Bump for a really nice bass - I have held this in my hands and its light, beautifully finished (with custom dots on the usually-unfinished Sandberg neck) and a really fast feeling neck. I would have nabbed this in an instant if I didn't already have Sid
Cheers Clarky. I thought you liked it
