1. Feel very foolish after extolling the virtues of this bass only a while back, but that's nothing new given my track record This is one of the best basses I've owned or played but going from the Jazz dimension neck to my Fender P Bass is causing me a few problems. It's a Custom Shop model and has a gorgeous aged white finish (faded in parts and yellowish overall), has been lightly reliced in the factory and also has dot markers on the fretboard which is unusual and in my opinion and massive bonus over the usual Sandberg necks. However, I am doing my damndest to keep to 3 basses so this one has to go. The P Bass is a 100% keeper, so what I'm looking for is a new series US Fender P that I can string with rounds to inter-change with my current Fender P strung with flats. This a a trade only but happy to work a 3-way out. I've got my eye on Deaver's P Bass so if someone is willing to be the 3rd part of the deal that would be great. Ideally I'm after a white/rw P Bass or a black /maple one. This bass is superb and there are more pics and a better description here: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=85769 Comes with a padded Sandberg gigbag and is currently strung with La Bella Deep Talkin Flats. EDIT: Thanks for the interest so far. I've seen a bass I want, so I would be willing to sell this for £630 which includes a recent set up and a brand new set of La Bella Deep Talkin flatwounds Here are a few pics:

 4. Serial Number is S008273 and nut width is 39mm. I've also added pics showing the marks under the ashtray.
 5. Bought a Boss ME-50B off of Colin and it arrived exactly on time as promised and was in immaculate condition. Highly recommended. Thanks again Colin
 6. I recently bought this 2006 Fender Aerodyne Precison Special bass, but after some consideration, I've decided it's surplus to requirements. It's a beautiful bass and sounds amazing. It's pretty lightweight too (under 9lbs) with a slim neck (more Jazz than P Bass to me) and in excellent condition apart from some dents in the body by the bridge underneath the bridge cover that was fitted by the previous owner. It looks like the bridge cover has been knocked at some stage and has debted the body somewhat. It hasn't gone through the paintwork but is certainly noticeable when the ashtray is removed. If like me though you think the bass looks cool with the ashtray, it's not an issue. I had to source 2 new tuners for this as the E and A tuner weren't working properly. I have also fitted a set of D'Addario Chromes (the original strings were stock Fende rones and well-past their sell bty date) and given it a good clean. I'm looking for £360 plus P&P for this but would prefer a meet or pick up. I would also consider a trade (plus cash my pssobly) for a decent fretless (US Jazz or something). Here's the Spec: The new Aerodyne Classic Precision Bass Special bridges the gap between Fender's ultra-progressive Aerodyne body profile and the vintage design of the highly revered, hard-working, and hard-hitting bass that started it all. The figured maple top with cream binding and choice of eye-catching transparent finishes take the Aerodyne concept to a new style level, while its uniquely radiused body design enhances comfort and maintains the traditional Precision vibe. Fender Aerodyne Classic Precision Bass Guitar Special Features: Basswood body topped with figured maple C-shaped maple neck with 7.25"-radius 20-fret rosewood fingerboard Body matching headstock 3-ply mint-green pickguard Chrome bridge and tuning machine Split single-coil Precision Bass Pickup in the middle position Single-coil Jazz Bass pickup at the bridge Polyurethane finish
 7.
Whilst on subject of the Aerodyne, (I quite fancy one) More Basschat induced GAS How easy is it to drop an onboard pre-amp into one? And is it possible without doing any routing for battery etc... Thanks in advance peeps!
Bought an Aerodyne P bass recently. BUild quality is superb and it sounds wonderful. Probably not a keeper though as with my Sandberg PM4 and US P Bass it's not getting a look in. Horses for courses I guess but I'd recommend these every day of the week.
 8. Played a Wedding Reception at the St Georges Hotel just off Regent Street. Traffic and logistics were a nightmare and so was the service lift we had to use to get our gear up to the 15th floor!! We were told to set up by the kitchen/service doors which wasn't a problem as we were on after the food and speeches. Eventually we were asked to go on an hour early (due to go on at 8.30) as the DJ hadn't turned up yet. First set went well until a waiter decided he had to get through the service door half way through one of our songs. I politely told him to f*cking wait until the end of the song as both me and the gutarist would need to move. Some people are such jobsworths The second set was a stormer and as the Groom's family were all from Tipperary our song choice was heavily Irish. Nonetheless it was a great crowd and we had a good time. I played my Sandberg again and am more impressed each time I plug it in. The only downer was we had agreed to let the DJ use our PA so had to hang around until 1am to pack it all up, transport it back down the lift and then the long journey home. I wouldn't have minded if he'd said thanks for the loan!! Hmmm, not sure Central London gigs are my thing anymore.......
 9. For sale is a brand new Gibson Thunderbird iv in Vintage Sunburst complete with orginal Gibson case. This was bought on a total whim a short while ago and I cannot honestly see me ever using this. It does sound absolutely wonderful though They cost in excess of £1,060 and this one is new. This one was made in October 2009 and still has the shop labels on it. The colour is absolutely gorgeous and it's light with minimal neck dive. I bought this after seeing Horace Panter playing one of these last year (pictured). Trade-wise I'm looking for a Sandberg California P or Jazz 4 or 5 string plus cash, a new Series Fender P or J plus cash, a Lakland Duck Dunn plus cash, Rickenbacker 4003 or a straight sale price of £930.
 10. Oops! You're absolutely right. Hopefully they're fixed now (many thanks)

 13.
Hey Nick. Do you know if this bass will run without a battery in it (passively of course). Still enjoying it?
Hi Dave It has a Passive Bypass by pulling out the volume switch. I'm not sure if it would run without a battery in it but I guess it would.
 14.
How's that done Nick?
It's done at the bridge with the saddles Chris, but thinking logically it wouldn't have much effect at the nut end. It does make a difference though.
 15. I was talking with my other half about Basses earlier today and the conversation turned in to a "how many basses have you owned" conversation. I decided to have a wracking-my-brain session and this I'm ashamed to say is what I came up with.... Including my 2 current basses, I have owned 46 basses in my time which is quite frankly disgusting, especially considering how much I've spent on them. I have also owned 3 combos, 6 amps and 13 cabs at one time or another. Now, this is by no means a p*ssing contest but I would really like to know how many other basses people have owned in their time. In some ways, I would be more comforted by people who are more capricious and fickle than I am I hasten to add too that prior to Basschat, I owned 7 basses in total............now that's scary!!
 16.
Congrats, Nick - Those top of range PM's are really nice basses with a huge dark sound to them as well. I always play the "Supreme" model whenever I go to Electro Music.
Thanks Rich. I must say I took a punt on this as I didn't know a huge amount about Sandbergs and am totally blown away by the build quality, sound and playability
 17.
Thats really nice Nick - congrats. I like the dots on the neck too, unusual for a Sandberg (I tend to think their dot-free necks look bare). Looks like my bass, Sid's, steroid-boosted cousin!
Thanks Clarky. I knew you'd approve
 18.
Impressive, that looks like a beaut. I know you say it is light, do you know the weight? Just interested as I'm having problems when gigging at the moment, and I have been considering lighter options. Cheers, Gary
I'll weigh it properly after for you Gary, but I would say it's around 8lbs. It certainly is very comfortable. We played for nearly 3 hours on Friday and I had no issues whatsoever.
