1. D'Oh!! Thanks Dood. looks like missed it. Never mind. I'd prefer a trade or something anyway
 2. Due to a change in my bass collection recently, Im now looking for an amp with 2 channels so I can set up a Passive and Active bass. I'm looking to trade my GB Shuttle 6.0 with rack mounting kit (9 months old with a few paint chips when it was used before it was rackmounted- nothing visible from the front and only cosmetic), my Korg DTR 2000 tuner (excellent condition), all mounted in a 4u Rack bag. THis is the best amp I've ever owned by far but I'm really looking for 2 channels. The sort of kit I'm looking for is an Epifani UL502, Littlemark or something similar. I can take photos if necessary, but it is exactly as described! I'm not going to split any of this as I'm really not looking for a sale (unless a UL502 comes up for sale!) Thanks for looking.
 3.
does around £25 seconhand sound reasable or too much?
I would say that sounds pretty good. A new one from some of the Ric specialists will cost 3-4 times that amount, Rosetti may be cheaper still for a brand new one.
 4.
Try contacting Rickenbacker's UK distributor, Rosetti, for spares: spares - rosetti.co.uk I've not had much dealings with them, but they've been very helpful when I have. I know they've been helpful (and reasonably priced) with spares for someone else recently.
+1 They sent me out a bridge surround (inc screws etc) and the horseshoe cover for about £45. It arrived in 2 days and was roughly £150 cheaper than any of the Ric Specialist websites were selling the same gear for. Highly recommended
 5.
Has anyone had any experience of having an Overwater bass made? They look beautiful and the chap who makes them is great and seems very passionate and knowledgable, but I just don't know much about them. I'm looking at having a bass made (not neccessarily an Overwater). I'm also interested in Hill basses, think they're a US outfit - Stefan from DMB is playing these now and I love the tone he gets on the records. Found some sort of website (http://www.hillguitars.com/) but no phone number, email contact or anything. Does anyone know anything about these? Otherwise, any other suggestions? Want something with throat and a growl but liking the idea of steering away from mainstream... Any suggestions appreciated!
Lots of love for Overwaters here and I'm pretty sure that some of the guys from Overwater are actually Forum members. Hopefull you'll have all the feedback you need from Overwater owners as and when they log on!
 6.
WHere about in surrey are you buddy?
Not far from Woking mate
 7.
Someone really needs to buy this & relieve Nick the temptation of giving it another go at his next gig, lol. Knowing Nick, as I do, I can definitely say that if he says it's a 'good 'un' then it most certainly will be
Thanks Barrie. A friend of mine has lent me a 75 Reissue Jazz bass to use tomorrow- can't wait There doesn't seem to be much P Bass love on here at the moment. It's a real shame because this really is one of the best examples I've come across. THe new model Fenders really seem to be the best basses they've made in many years.
 8.
Doh! Take care mate
Good luck with the Cab hunt too. With a bass this gorgeous I reckon the world's your Oyster
 9.
Hi Nick - wonder if you might have a light weight cab for trade plus cash to me for my very cool 2006 SR5 for which I have white and tort pick guards.(ex Mr Crow) It's mint which I'm putting up for sale at £795. Please let me know if you are interested. I have more pictures if you would like to see any. Siempre con fusion! Bill
Hi Bill- I wish I did! Wow!Unfortunately I've just sold an Epifnai UL310
 10. BUMP with a few more photos added. Hopefully they show what a beautiful colour this bass is. The swirl on the body is just a finger mark picked up by the flash
 11.
I have a Stingray that I'm not using at the moment, you're welcome to borrow it until you get sorted
Thank you Colin I'm overwhelmed by the offer of basses etc to borrow until I get it sorted. I may well take you up on your offer to really spend some time in live situations trying what works. Molam (Barrie) has kindly lent me his 75 US Reissue Jazz to try too, so it looks like I'll have a fair selection to a/b
 12. Many apologies in the lateness of my feedback Colin... Hamster bought my old US P bass oh, must be 30 years ago now (feels like it!) A top guy and highly recommended. We need to sort out a beer at some stage too!
 13. Stew bought my EMG's off me at around the time he and Mrs HH were expecting their beautiful baby. A lovely guy and I can't believe he talked his Mrs in to using "Old Horse Murphy" as a middle name
 14. Some long overdue feedback for Dave. I spent a very pleasant afteroon with Dave a few weeks ago, playing through various amp/cab combinations and swapping stories. I ended up leaving one of my cabs at Dave's and walking away with one of his! Thanks Dave for your company and your knowledge. Highly recommended
 15.
Nick - if you need a bass for Thursday then you're more than welcome to borrow anything of mine? Well, maybe not the redwood NS5XL as a) it weighs a ton & it's worth a small fortune, lol. If you want a 4 I've got the Fender J '75RI or for 5's there's either the white Overwater J or the other Spector NS5XL Both of these have 35" scale so maybe not your cup of tea (although the Overwater doesn't feel that much like a 35"). If you can get over to me some time you could have whatever for the week to get used to it too Anyway, just a thought,
I think you've got to be one of the nicest guys in the world Barrie. Thank you- I may well take you up on that offer. The reissue Jazz sounds lovely Nick
 16.
Hi Nick - Might sound silly to say but try roundwounds on it. As much as I loved my 2008 P with D'Addario Flats on it -sounded amazing at home or in the studio - I could never get any definition from it live. Switched back to roundwounds and I'm a happy man again.
Hi Gareth- I've tried Roundwounds on it and you're right, it definitely makes a differnece. Unfortunately not enough though for me. Cheers Nick
 17. Hello all- it's been a while but I'm back Anway, I've been gigging regularly and more and more over the last weeks I've noticed my old hearing problems returning and have really struggled to hear my P Bass. It got so bad last night that I played the first set blind (deaf?). Fortunately, after the first set I ended up using a Stingray that I borrowed of a mate of mine and Wow; epiphany moment!! Anyway, I've decided that it's time to possibly go down that route on a permanent. As a result, I'm looking for a trade with my 2008 US P Bass for a Stingray 5 with a bit of money thrown in from me. This P is the best, most comfortable bass I've ever owned and I'm gutted to let it go. It's sunburst/rosewood and is in near-excellent condition (apart from some marks across the top edge due to cuff buttons- not through the paint though). Apart from that, there's a small chip on the pickguard where the truss rod access hole is. It comes with the new style case, all the candy and is strung with La Bella Deep Talkin Flatwounds. It comes with the original new style case, all the candy and tags too. This is my only road-worthy bass at the moment (my Shuker is going through a bit of a mod) and I have a gig next Thursday, so if anyone is interested, a meet would be ideal for me so I'm not without a bass. I live in Surrey but am willing to meet somewhere if needs be. Thanks for reading. I figured it was only a matter of time before my hearing went again. Ah well, it could be a lot worse Pictures are courtesy of Clarky. I traded it with him for a Rickenbacker a while back but missed it so much, I bought it again! EDIT: Due to the number of PM's asking for a sale price, I'd let this go for £560 inc postage or £545 if picked up/meet arranged. These sell for well over £830 new and I'll throw in a brand new set of La Bella Deep Talkin strings and a genuine unused white Fender pickguard. Further pics have been psoted further down this topic.
 18. Good one on Saturday at a Rugby Club in Hertfordshire (end of season awards night). Got there at 3, set up and soundchecked by 4pm (good for us). The rest of the band went to the pub over the road while I went to see my Mum who lives about 5 miles away. Back at the club at 7.30pm for our free 3 course dinner and then listened to some of the funniest speeches I've heard in ages. We were due to go on at 9pm but due to the awards running on (and on and on....) it was nearer 10 by the time we started. We went down a storm during the first set and had everyone up dancing before we even got to the first chorus. The second set went even better apart from our monitors packing up half way through. Vocal harmonies? More like a couple of Whales flirting outrageously, due to us not being able to hear anything between us. Did anybody notice? Doubt it. Still, we got another booking out of it, possibly a birthday party too and I've been roped in to playing for them next week Note to self; just say NO.
 19. I'm continuing the spring clean with a few books that I have lying around doing nothing at the moment: What Duck Done- This book contains transcription of Donald "Duck" Dunn's bass lines for almost three dozen classic Stax and Atlantic R&B recordings and 2 CD's (as new).- £15 plus £2 P&P John Entwistle: Bass Culture- "The" coffee table book featuring photos of over 200 of John Entwistle's favourite basses (great condition but the dust cover is a wee bit battered)- £15.00 plus £2 P&P Funk and Disco Grooves by Bassline Publishing (as new)- Nile Rodgers & Bernard Edwards: Funk & Disco Grooves for Bass & Guitar is a detailed transcription and analysis book that covers the work of the legendary Nile Rogers (guitar) and Bernard Edwards (bass). Featuring guitar and bass transcriptions from 20 of the greatest songs the duo wrote for acts such as Chic, Sister Sledge, Carly Simon and Diana Ross.- £15.00 plus £2 P&P Thanks for looking
 20. Hmm it's strange... I love P basses with maple boards but have always thought Jazzes look much better with rosewood boards. I've not lost any sleep over it, but I thought I'd share this with you.
 21. It's an amazing Bass Barrie and if I could afford it, it wouldn't be leaving my house any time soon! The sound this thing produces is amazing; very deep and dark but no loss of definition. The B String is tight and sounds very clear. It's also spotless and as new. The finish is even better in the flesh than in Barrie's pics. Thanks again for the loan Barrie. Looking forward to meeting up again soon
