1. For trade is my Genz Benz 210T Combo. I've only owned this a short while and it is as new. It weighs 28Kgs and pushes out 100w though the 2x10 speakers. It's still under warranty (Genz Benz transferrable warranty) and is in mint condition. I bought this as a practice/back up amp, but have used it maybe 2 or 3 times and it has never left the house. To buy new these sell for £450. It is typical Genz benz quality and is a great bit of kit. Here's the spec: • Powerful 100 Watt Output • Active/Passive Input • Signal Input LED • Tuner Out • Shape Circuitry with Variable Mid-Scoop • Active 3 Band EQ with Parametric Mids • RCA CD Input • Headphone Jack • XLR Direct Out • Internal Fan Cooling • Attractive Black Vinyl • Protective Metal Speaker Grille Power Output Cabinet Response Speaker Configuration Preamp Type Weight Lbs. Dimensions HxWxD 100 W 55 - 18k HZ 2 x 10" & Tweeter FET 62 2 6 1/2" (H) x 20" (W) x 14 3/4" (D) This is easily loud enough to gig with and really is top quality. I'm looking for a trade with a Hartke LH500 head, a decent DI box, EBS Octabass and cash to make up any difference. I would also sell this for £260. Due to the weight, I'd ideally look to exchange in person and would be prepared to meet half way (I live in Surrey). Thanks for looking
2. I had exactly the same problem mate. To play (neck, body, balance etc) my Ray was a dream but there was something about the sound that drove me mad. In the end I got Jon Shuker to put a passive switch on it and it worked a treat. It sounded lovely, thick and really warm- the way only a passive bass can. The problem is, I'd fallen out of love with it by then. I now wish I'd kept it a bit longer
3. If I had the money Mart I'd have her back in a jiffy. I hope you find something equally as good to replace it mate
4.
Thanks burno and OBBM. Defo a good result. Should be arriving today. I'm like an excited child before christmas. So can't wait for it to turn up
Good man! Glad to see you got hold of this one.
5. Totally agree on all the above. I'm a huge Danny Thompson fan and adored John Martyn. My recommendation would be Darrell Scott, Kenny Malone and Danny Thompson Live in NC. Lots of really amazing acoustic trio music (some electric too) and Danny really cuts through.
6. Jon Shuker put a passive switch on my Stingray. He replaced the treble knob with a push/pull knob that when pulled out, the bass was passive and also worked as a tone for the passive mode too. It sounded lovely. Not sure how he did it as electrics are pretty-much witchcraft to me.
7.
Very nice. How much did Lakland charge for the stack knob set?
They charged me $83 inc shipping. I was more than happy with that
8.
Hey Nick, looks good! So - famous last words - have you finally got the bass collection you want - a Ricky, Shuker 5 and a Jazz? I am settled now with a US P and a US J but, if I won the lottery () I would be after a Ricky and a Shuker Burnel
I think so Clarky but don't quote me Like most people in this current economic climate it's time for this Old Horse to be a bit more sensible than before. Now if I won the lottery too, things may change.....I particularly like the look of these Bob Glaub 5 stringers.
9.
What do the stack knobs give you- 2x vols and 2x tones?
Yes, so you have a vol and tone for each pickup
10. A week later and the stacked knobs arrived the same day as the new black pickguard I ordered from Jeannie's. A bit of solder later and it's all in place. The stacked knobs add so much more variety that the VVT set up on Fender Jazz basses. I'm not sure why they changed the set up as to me, it works a lot better. Anyway, here's a before and after comparison.
11. I'd personally look at the Lakland. They're top top quality. The only thing to bear in mind though is that the neck on the Duck Dunn is a Jazz bass profile, not a P neck.
12.
Sorry but I wasn't Nick. I'm planning to fit them into my pink '62RI jazz.
No worries Dave. I thought it would save me a job of having to order some from Ebay
13.
Swapped from what to what? I'm just about to remove the Lindy Fralins that came in it and install some Aeros that arrived from Hawaii yesterday, to get it back to stock. I have no means of recording anything however.
Dave- are you looking to sell the Fralins ad would they fit in to a Joe Osborn?
14. That's gorgeous John. I wish I had the money
15. I have just taken delivery of a Lakland Joe Osborn Skyline in Lake Placid Blue and decided that I wanted to install the stack pots on it as per the US model. A quick email to Lakland resulted in a return email within 5 minutes (no joke) from Dan Lakin himself. A day later I get another email sent over with the wiring diagram and price including postage. After speaking to Kirk at Lakland today and paying by credit card, it has been posted and should be with me early next week. I am seriously impressed and must spread the gospel of how professional and quick they have been. Nice one guys
16. I bought this for my wife a few weeks ago from Guitar Village in Farnham. Unfortunately, she doesn't want it (hmmm) so it's now for sale. It's a Tanglewood Folk-sized guitar in beautiful vintage sunburst. It is constructed to a very high standard and sounds amazing. The spec is as follows: Description: Folk shape Solid Sitka Spruce top Rosewood back and sides Mahogany neck Maple bound Rosewood fingerboard Abalone dot inlays Nut width: 43mm Rosewood bridge Gold Kluson style with Butterbean buttons Rosewood rosette Herringbone top binding Maple back & side binding Black ABS bridge pins with White dots Bone compensating saddle Vintage Sunburst gloss finish D'Addario EXP11 strings It really is as new and is spotless. Comes with a good padded gigbag. I paid just over £300 for this including gigbag but as I don't play guitar, I have no need for this. I'm looking for £210 for it and would prefer it was picked up or could arrange to meet half-way. Thanks for looking.
17. I had the same a while back Al. Having suffered major shoulder problems in the past I have to say it worried me. I played around with the length of my bass strap and it stopped the pain completely. It may just be bad ergonomics.
18.
Could you be tempted with a '79 Precison, Fullerton made with a jazz neck?
I could Dave.......sigh Would go beautifully with my Mapleglo 4003

Having just spent a very pleasant afternoon talking bass, I can thoroughly recommend Barrie to anyone looking to deal with him. He bought my Epifani UL310 in a completely hassle-free transaction. A thoroughly nice guy and very good company too. Thanks Barrie- keep in touch
20. Just bought an Epifani UL212 off Gary this morning. He wasn't kidding when he said it was immaculate. He's a really nice guy and as honest as the day is long. Thanks Gary and good luck with the gig tonight.
21.
Before After Just my opinion but I prefer my 59 how it looks now than before when it was minus paint. My feelings are the same about that Jazz, nice looking Bass but somehow it looks like someone decided to "relic it" in a very unnatural way. With a bit of careful restoration it could look even nicer!
When are you going on Holiday next Steve?
22.
I'd be interested in trying the UL212 so perhaps we need another EpiFest.
Sounds good to me Dave
23.
Not many more Epifani's for you to own and sell now Nick! The 1 x 15 that you sold me is still going strong along with the 4 x 10 that I bought from another Basschatter....
If I could afford (was allowed) to keep the all Steve I would! I'd love to give your Epi rig a blast one day
